    The main issue, Narrator, isn't that some of these questions are annoying, like the pregnancy ones or the mental disabilities, it's that in most places, especially in the US, these questions are ILLEGAL to ask.

      @@annika5893most places get around the illegal discrimination questions by just demanding a faux video interview. Where you speak into a camera, answer a few normal questions, and they can discriminate based off the video.
      The reason interviewing and applying is so needlessly long and tedious is so they can nitpick any wrong thing and deny someone the job quoting that instead of the illegal discrimination if anyone asks. (Which nobody ever does)

    For story 10, you aren't thinking far enough ahead. The reason why it's forbidden to ask about someone's disability during the hiring process is to prevent the reviewer from unfairly biasing their interview based in your diagnosis. Let's say you have a learning disability and you're applying for an office job in your field. Your resume checks out but the interviewer asks you disability and then recommends you for a lower paying physical labor job instead based on their bias.
    It's up to the individual if they feel comfortable sharing their diagnosis at a later point but you should avoid telling them your diagnosis during the hiring process, let your resume and skills speak for you. Then ask for accommodations as needed after being hired.

    I'm not sure why the Narrator doesn't see how "what disability do you have" is inappropriate (and illegal) to ask in an interview... Not "what accomodations would we need to consider" or an acquaintance politely asking questions, but a potential employer asking specifics ofnyour medical history irrelevant to the position...

    To the CIA question, (often used in law enforcement interviews in general) The correct answer is "none of them". Anything else gets you booted because it reveals you:
    1. Expect to face corruption in that position
    2. Believe your prospective coworkers/boss are already corrupt making it at least a little okay
    3. Worst of all you are open to the possibility of being corrupted with enough persuasion.

    I live in Germany and for example if you get sick, the boss will receive a note, but the disease is not written on it, because he is not allowed to know/ask. Also, asking about your marital status/kids is totally forbidden by law. They could get sued for that.

    Here's a little tip. If the interviewer offers to walk you to your car; decline. This is done so they can get hints from your car about things they can't legally ask about. Like seeing if you have a car seat, or if you have bumper stickers showing if you have children, your religious views, political views, orientation, etc.

    That last one was clearly pissed to not get a "and that's why I have PTSD" story.
    Also yes. Anything that involves questioning marriage and kids. The kid one is judging you either as a leech of resources or someone desperate they can exploit. The marriage one is weird because you never hear of them asking a guy the question. I think it's the societal assumption when a woman gets married she'll leave her job and then, once again, that job assumes she'll be a drain or abandon them.
    Screw any employee that would make an assumption about me based on my gender.

    It is EXTREMELY ILLEGAL to ask someone what their disability is in the US for equal employment opportunity reasons. It is NOT OKAY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. They are allowed to ask you if you meet specific requirements, like physical requirements or otherwise, but they CANNOT ask you what specifically your disability is. It is a huge discrimination issue.

  • @setsunanoroi4971
    @setsunanoroi4971 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I could see the disability thing of it’s a “We’re going to know what accommodations to make for you,” not as a deciding factor for getting the job of course but I’d say something prevents you from getting to places quickly because of a busted hip or whatever letting it be known this person has to leave early if they have a scheduled meeting at a certain time or whatever. In the other hand I can totally see people seeing that as invasive of they think it’ll lead to them not getting the job.
    I dunno. That’s kind of a tricky one.
