- This is a clip from the Modern Drummer Festival 2006 DVD. The DVD features performances and interviews by Ronald Bruner Jr., Jason McGerr, the historic R&B/Gospel Summit featuring Teddy Campbell, Gerald Heyward, Aaron Spears and the late gospel great Marvin McQuitty. Also featured drummer/percussionist Glenn Kotche, Thomas Lang with master percussionist Luis Conte, Brann Dailor, Steve Smith, Dave DiCenso, Bobby Sanabria, Danny Seraphine with his band CTA and drum legend Stewart Copeland with his band, Gizmo.

Greatest drummer I have EVER heard....I repeat EVER. Not only is he the greatest drummer I have EVER heard....he does things I have never seen any drummer do. His playing is so unusual and beyond anybody out there today or in the past.
Dave's a pretty cool guy! He has some insane independence and linear fills
I recommend you to look for Matt Garstka! I think he has some of this vocabulary applied to modern drumming and taken to the next level!
This is of course Legendary solo which each drummer has to know. One of the BEST
I was there in the audience that day at MD 2006 - my mind was BLOWN! I've also had the opportuning to chat with Dave 1-on-1 - SUPER nice guy and very humble about his astonishing abilities as a drummer. He's one of my favorite drummers of all time because not only is he able to do all kinds of wild, chops-intensive, polyrhythmic things, but he has a groove and pocket that's so deep you can get lost in it.
