Hi Mary. I've had mine in for about 3 years and were started as braidlocks by my friend who is a certified sisterlock consultant. She does all my retightening around every 8 to 10 weeks. Because my hair is silver/grey, lint is not an issue because I just can't see it! i Do a clarifying shampoo and deep condition my ends just before re-tightening and use a scalp oil to maintain. It's now long enough to style so I'm really having fun with that. Take care and God bless x
I think braidlocs are so pretty! I also have some greys, but not enough to cover the lint 😅 styling does get fun, I'm considering maybe doing a video with some quick styles :) Thanks so much for sharing 💖

I’m 4 years in November, diyed 185 ish interlocs. As I do them myself NOWAY I wanted too many locs to maintain as I’m a mother of 3 & work. I split reties over 2 evenings n it’s ok, your hair is lovely as a new mother would you combine in the future to lessen your maintenance time? Thanks for video
You raise a good point, I've been thinking about whether to combine them. The thing is, I LOVE this look, and it would look different if I combined them. I love the size, they are just a pain to interlock. What I'll most likely do is I'll continue to visit my stylist friend for a while until I can upgrade to paying her more. My son is an active toddler and I'm doing ok with just one child, but I may change my mind if we decide to have more. No problem, I learned A LOT from TH-camrs sharing content & invaluable knowledge. Without them I’d never have lasted this long or establish 5 family members with locs that I also maintain 😬. You really do have beautiful hair, enjoy all the stages as year by year the look will change as it eventually condenses to fully mature locs.
