- The Cinema EOS C70 is a new generation RF Mount Cinema EOS camera featuring Canon’s 4K Super 35mm DGO sensor. With High Frame Rate recording up to 120fps in 4K, internal 4:2:2 10-bit recoding and High Dynamic Range, it takes the RF System into a brand new era.
There are two SD card slots with versatile recording options, Dual Pixel CMOS AF with our new Intelligent Face Tracking system, as well as a wealth of professional I/O interfaces, all in a compact and lightweight body, attachable to drones and gimbals.

Thanks Canon, this is essentially the C100 Mark III we have been waiting for so long... right now, the perfect camera for people who don't need RAW.

Or they were just that, hybrid cameras. They're not for dedicated videographers. The people who complain are the types who are too stupid to realise there are decent dedicated video cameras like the C70 out there.
Hybrid cameras, no matter how good they are will never be as the same level as dedicated video cameras. Sadly, many don't understand this including some youtubers.

So I guess this is their response to the BMPCC4K/6K. As an owner of the Pocket 4K, this honestly looks pretty awesome. Having that auto focus and built in ND is huge for a cinema camera of that size.
First time in 10 years I've been excited about a canon camera. They got the features and price right. Love the dual gain, the built in nd, the xlr, and the HEVC support. All with state of the art focus tracking using even legacy lenses. That's impressive.
This is why they put a timer on the R5.

The timer is to avoid overheating, and it still overheats. It’s a stills camera with a video function, not a video camera.
@@marcd7332 just stop! They marketed the camera as an video camera first. What stills camera first do you know that has 8k raw output with 4k 120 and 8k down sampled to 4k? The video features in the R5 are better than the C70. Not giving Canon a pass on this. The camera doesn't overheat within the times that they state thats been proven. I've done several test myself as well as others that have debunked the excuses. They've done an update that clearly shows that its software thats putting a timer and not the actual temperature. I love my R5 but come on let's call it what it is.
Damon Mason Damon Mason Yeah that’s the problem with marketing, they can say whatever they want but it’s a stills camera at the end of the day. Buy whatever you want but don’t rely on marketing, you will always be disappointed.
Kinda wish it had at least some support for raw as the price point competes directly with the RED Komodo. Although this is more versatile than the RED it’s still kinda weird that the R5 at least had RAW on their camera.
SDI output would’ve also been a nice touch too.
Internal NDs on the RF mount is probably the most distinguishing aspect of this camera. Incredible. This is what the S1H missed. Oh yeah also good AF.

Idk what you mean. The a7siii has the same resolution, even raw, can go to much higher ISOs, probably has similar dynamic range (tests will tell further) and is much more compact. The only thing that could be better here would either be color science and cinema body imo
oh and also the sony doesnt crop in any mode.

Versatile recording solutions? Why no ProRes, no RAW, are there even any ALL-INTRA modes? For what, four times the price of a BMPCC4K?
If Raw is what you need... this is not the camera for you.
The thing I like about this camera is the RF mount allows you to adapt Canon FD glass without a loss of light compared to the old EF mount.
What is the difference between canon FD & EF ?
@@namenl2205 It's a completely different mount. The FD lenses were developed back in the 1970s. It was Canon main mount until the 1990s. They switched to the EF mount when everything went digital. Now they have the RF mount.
The problem with the EF mount is that it has a long flange distance. You can't use FD on and EF mount without losing light. The new RF mount has narrow flange distance which means it's very easy to adapt vintage lenses like the Canon FD.

$7299 cad price point is a bit steep considering Sony just released the same product but full frame (a7s iii) for $2k less. the only real difference from what he has said was that it has built in ND filters. But its good that Canon is starting to make some moves.
A7S3 is a simple consumer product for luxury vloggers and high quality b-rolls, C70 is another level professional production camera with all the features of a dedicated video camera in a smaller body.
@@smashexentertainment676 theres maybe two features, the built in nd filters and the xlr io that separate this camera from the specs of the sony a7s3. The c70 may look less simple, but for its price, its not doing much against its competitions. that's all i'm trying to point out. I Love Canon products, I've used canon's for a long time. But they're still behind. They look like they're making progress obviously, but dressing up specs that a sony a7s3 has, into a bulkier body is not fooling professionals given the cinema camera options out there.
at the end of the day, it'll be interesting to see how the footage looks when people get their hands on it :)

But this one is amazing... Especially with your "native" speedbooster. Its almost perfect, uniting the new RF mount with the old EF mount. Therefore the choice of an s35 sensor size makes totally sense! And the connections, amount of assignable buttons and of particular note the internal ND filters are awsome!! The C70 now is the first camera on my wishlist. But because i am a little bit oldschool and it is important to my shooting style: Is there any chance you will offer an additional EVF or a loupe for the screen?
Anyway, congratulations for this unexpected and innovative design!
Please include ALL-I and IPB bit rates to all record modes. Also please allow to take screen grab with electronic shutter even if its 11.5 mp.

My question regarding the statement regarding using a manual lens but the auto focus assisting to assure the image stays sharp. How does the AF work with a manual lens? I preordered my camera! Will use the R5 as a second cam. I'm really excited about this c70

Canon is the best camera company I know of. I wish I had a camera... Still working through my smartphone both for footage and sound recording. I hope one day I'll get one of your cameras. A cheap one like Canon EOS 250D would do wonders for me.

Canon why on earth did you promot the R5 as a video camera? Somebody in your marketing department really screwed it up. The R5 is a superb still camera and/or portrait shooting one and sometimes you can shoot fantastic video footage. The C70 is a video camera :-). I´m curious about the comparisons to the Sony A7 SIII.

As a Canon user, I would have to say Sony blew Canon out of the water this year with the A7SIII, does everything this new camera can do. A lot of video people don't want to spent massive amounts on cinema cameras, that's why they use DSLRs, canon should have made the R5 a video-first hybrid. Sony gets the star this year.

What is the file size in 4K 120 .. if file size is huge and you can not even edit like canon SOS R5, then no use ... will this overheat or any limit to continuous shooting ... if like that then this will be no use like the R5 ...
