Shadowkey lore kind of has a cult classic status because there's all sorts of weird and interesting ideas in it that aren't really explored in future games. Shadow magic, alternate timelines, the Ice Tribes (a race of ice barbarians that were commonly believed to be the Falmer by fans before Skyrim came out), an ancient Ayleid airship that harvested stars, and whatnot.
Fun Fact: A lot of the Shadowkey lore (like implications from the War of Bend'r-Mahk for example) is used in Skyrim:Home of the Nords mod for Morrowind. You can even meet one of the very important characters from that game. You need to find him first though.

I had an N-Gage in the past. The game ran much more slowly on the actual hardware. The framerate never got fast enough for the game to look smooth and it dropped to single digit fps during fights, which made the game practically unplayable and created an annoying input lag. I never left the first village because of that. It was the same for the Call of Duty game on N-Gage, but there was a Ghost Recon first person shooter which actually ran smoothly enough to be enjoyable. Great video though!

I still have this game. I bought it when it came out. I know it looks a bit... yeah... but "back in the day" this was an amazing experience! N-Gage and N-Gage QD were innovative products that definitely left a mark in mobile phone history. I had the better version, "QD", where you didn't have to detach the phone battery to put the game in. N-Gage had a lot of good games, actually. They looked a bit clunky even back then, but the fact that you could play decent games on the go was damn nice. I especially loved this one football game and Pathway to Glory, which was a game that could still hold up today. Those truly were the days... and I'm old as fuck.
I remember attempting to play the Oblivion PSP version emulated on my phone. It was interesting for sure. Couldn't play much. I definitely should try it again emulated on PC this time.
I would expect there to be a safe function, since the main menu had a button to open up recent saves. I would genuinly love to see another video on that game, it was already great fun to watch, thank you for that!
I played this years ago. It really is a decent game. The ending is unique. It isn't breaking the mold on any game mechanics, just you know... Decent. I would of liked them to recreate this or give some major nods to it in either Skyrim or TES6.
I don't know why, but this game manages to generate such a comfy and nostalgic feeling to me. I don't know if it's the extremely low quality morrowind theme playing in the background, or the fact that everything looks like a silent hill game with only bad graphics and nightly fog (or everything combined), but it creates a feeling of something I long forgot of my childhood, almost like a distant dream of me playing a simple game in a simpler time having a simpler life. And only for that I already rate it 10/10 would buy together with skyrim again.
@serph gaming I know how you feel my friend. I have almost the same feelings. I remember 2004-2005 playing this game on the N-Gage and thinking wow this is awesome, a full Elder Scrolls game in my mobile phone. Yes, the sound in N-Gage games is mono but the Morrowind music fix everything. The game uses fog etc to hide the technical limitations but I did not care. Silenr Hill PSX uses fog too and for the same reasons. It was fun to explore the dungeons, caverns and places of Shadowkey. The feeling of having such a long game was great. Very sweet memories of Shadowkey. I think I'll play it again soon.
i think the reason it's so easy to kill all the enemies is because the game is running so smoothly on the emulator. i've played this game on an actual n-gage qd and it chugs so hard.
It's amazing how you can see that the dagger was drawn on a black background. And how it fades into black at the edge. But the engine doesn't alpha transparency, so they just cut it out. and left the almost black pixels at the edge.
Really the nicest thing you could say about the N-Gage was that it could have been the Tapwave Zodiac. I’d also *really* recommend everyone look into this Oblivion PSP game prototype he mentions at the beginning; I’d never heard of that, and the footage is kinda wild 😆
"Roil" is a real word "Wind is roiling these waters" means that waters are getting murky from the bottom sediment. There's also a spell in Warhammer TW called "Roiling Skies".
The Nokia N-Gage was great. I still have my QD-version in a shelf and play on it every now and than. There is even a very good emulator for android nowadays. So everybody can enjoy the classics. I highly recommand playing Path of Glory to everyone, who is into story driven turn based strategy. Elder Scrolls however fell a bit short. Clunky controls, long loading times, short draw distances and cities, where everything just looked the same made it hard to enjoy. I really did try, played it even with a friend in coop via bluetooth, but it just didn't click. Also it ran much slower on the original hardware. They really were a bit too ambitious with this one.
I cried a tantrum in front of the electronic goods store begging my mom to buy me an N-gage when I was like 9 or 10. I recall playing a Sonic game, can't remember which one was it though.
Classic Micky D: pretending he's playing Shadowkey on an emulator because he doesn't want us to know that he owns a real Nokia N-Gage.

first elder scrolls mobile game i had was "Oblivion" on the motorola razer. That's a legend of a game.
I played this years ago. It really is a decent game. The ending is unique. It isn't breaking the mold on any game mechanics, just you know... Decent. I would of liked them to recreate this or give some major nods to it in either Skyrim or TES6.
Would have*, would of makes no sense
Glad you talked about this game my friend
i think the reason it's so easy to kill all the enemies is because the game is running so smoothly on the emulator. i've played this game on an actual n-gage qd and it chugs so hard.
that 'Hello' gag really got me
It's amazing how you can see that the dagger was drawn on a black background.
And how it fades into black at the edge.
But the engine doesn't alpha transparency, so they just cut it out. and left the almost black pixels at the edge.
would love to see you play more of Shadowkey, like a legit playthrough would be cool
Wow, when I brought this up in the Blades video I didn't think you'd actually take it as a challenge
This kind of feels like that one meme.
_"hey mom, can we buy morrowind?"_
_"we have morrowind at home!"_
*_the morrowind at home:_*
Your videos are class man keep it up
This is extremely cool, seeing a corner of ES I had no idea about
13:18 micky pretending he can pronounce words when he remembers XD
You aint foolin anyone
If I ever have a kid I'm gonna name it Blanden Grizzle.
Really the nicest thing you could say about the N-Gage was that it could have been the Tapwave Zodiac.
I’d also *really* recommend everyone look into this Oblivion PSP game prototype he mentions at the beginning; I’d never heard of that, and the footage is kinda wild 😆
i had an NGage! still remember sitting in town playing StreetFighter on an emulator on it.
This was pretty fun, play some more!
I was looking for some random shit to watch whilst starting off my Friday evening drinks.
Micky D, gettin' on after it, to the rescue.
The fucking Hello song edit was amazing.
2:10 thumbs up, simply for the reason that you used the music from the harry potter games ❤
I was so excited when I saw mickys name as I thought it was the Harry Potter walkthrough, sad times lol
Soon lad
@@MickyD oh hey micky😁
"Roil" is a real word "Wind is roiling these waters" means that waters are getting murky from the bottom sediment. There's also a spell in Warhammer TW called "Roiling Skies".
Ngage, now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Start the day with a tea and Micky D.
That male Breton reminds me of Elvis Presley 😂
Poke polls go to the balls is my new favorite phrase
4:39 Bro, that jumpscare, i will need to change my underwear after this.
I'd watch an entire playthrough of this to be honest.
Shadowkey deathless run?
Really hope we get some more of this, so unique and interesting
I cried a tantrum in front of the electronic goods store begging my mom to buy me an N-gage when I was like 9 or 10. I recall playing a Sonic game, can't remember which one was it though.
Eagerly awaiting the full playthrough
I’ve been playing oblivion again, it will never be forgotten (well I’m playing Nehrim but close enough)
