Yeah but he also has roller nut which helps with keeping the guitar in tune. However, I remember reading about someone (it might have been Keith Richards) picking up Beck's guitar after a show and saying how it was horribly out of tune. Then Beck picks it, and plays perfectly in tune. Apparently for this guy the frets are not a limit, he can find the right notes by bending and using the trem. Impressive to say the least.
One word, SUPERB! An immense player, full of melodies and expression and no annoying facial expressions :) Only one player in the world like him and that's IA himself.
From what I hear he mostly uses the caparison stock pickups PH-R for bridge and SH27F for neck. In this video the bridge pickup looks like a Dimarzio Crunchlab or a D Sonic I don't know for sure.
bollocks! hes just wanking off musically... have u heard the thr10x's..?!! this is just about the WORST tone i have heard coming from one!!! his playing has less soul than lindsey lohan's eyes!!*****
Wow , very creative guitar player. Love this playing style. I don't know if this is intentional, but off an on, in many little areas of his playing I hear some Joe Satriani at times and a little Steve Via here and there. Maybe it's the way his fretting fingers softly attack the strings. Saucy playing. Much enjoyed. And also that Yamaha little amp, I'm getting hooked on it. I have heard the distortion side and it sounds great for being so small. Thanks so much for the upload. Very helpful. Also how much is the amp ??
Come on, lmao!!!!!! Such a sound out of such a tiny box, Yamaha must be raking it in with these. First thing I thought right off the bat what wow, nails Satriani's sound and I have a JVM410JHS. What's great about this is the ports and the USB stereo tracking ability, plus your not going to piss the neighbors. Awesome playing, shockwave supernova should sound great on this. Any info on a link for the backing track for this demo? Going to the store tomorrow and getting this, thanks Yamaha
can you use the headphone jack to an input of a power amp , to a cab , would that disable the speakers on the thr unit and use the power amp and cab for the power section and speakers ?
RuspurSaysGrrrr I'd love to have one of those guitars, or any true temperament fretted guitar, like Denander's VGS... or even Holdsworths Strandberg. I have always hated the fact that guitars can never be in tune ,...... ... until now, but retailers just don't seem to stock them in my country! especially Strandbergs! [I'm in England] and to top it all my legs don't work so getting about internationally is extremely difficult.
His playing has a very Joe Satriani 'ish' sound, even the backing percussion is similar. That 'whistle-y' sound effect (harmonic) he's doing is very Steve Vai 'ish' p.s. if u like this, get Joe Satriani's 1st album "Not of This Earth"
Thank you, man! Gonna take a listen! I usually don't solo guitar players, but this guy it's pretty different of all. The way he use whammy bar and harmonics it's just awesome!
Well at least someone out here in youtube land can show it doesnt have to be an all out balls to the wall gain monster amp. I bought it because I preferred the sound of it compared to the 10 or the 10c, not because I wanted a djent machine. I actually detest the sound of EMG 81 bridge pickups. their alnico ones are alright though. A good trick is if you get a guitar with an 81 and an 85, buy a 60A, put that in the neck and swap the 85 to the bridge. and sell the 81 on craigslist to recoup some of your money.
Jamming on mine right now. Wish he showed the settings! This thing does certain things...like this...real well. Hard to get it right jamming with stuff, how shall I say, less balls to the walls? You can get great solo stuff. It seems to force you to the designed algo no matter how you tweak it. I needed a box in front for single coils (multibucker) and after about a dozen I settled on my favorite...metal muff. In the studio next to real stuff costing several thou. you can't compare, but in the park watching the dog run around and jamming with an mp3 player...all on batteries? Just nothing better for that I know of! Oh...I want those fretts!!!!!!!!!!!
+TheDogpa At 1:04 you can kinda see from the reverb all the way to the gain knob, treb mid & bass are all at 12o'clock, master vol is a little passed 3o'clock and you can slightly see fading out the gain is at about 1 or 2o'clock. Going to have to play with the amp model setting. The trickiest thing is getting all those harmonics out, on his site he describes how to manipulate bending the tremolo bar in order to sustain the harmonics, also finding them all on every string across the fret board. He's keeping me busy, lol Nuff Respect Mattias IA Eklundh!!!!!! Yes, those frets are bad ass
Im such a metal head I usually only like metal demos for amps but this dudes really creative in his sometimes simplicity other times very technical. Gotta have simplicity or like the asshole says in the movie Amadeus, Too many notes! I digress, Im buying this amp tmrw!
This guy has the best use of a Floyd Rose I have ever seen. Really unique. Similar to a pitch bend on a synth.
Jeff Beck...
I was going to say Jeff Beck too. Only thing is Jeff Beck does the stuff like this guy is doing but on a standard non-locking vintage strat style trem
Yeah but he also has roller nut which helps with keeping the guitar in tune. @@sinane.y yeah but jeff has no floyd hehe
@@maxmustardman298 True, I was putting it in the same basket as all tremolo bars
Very interesting playing. 👌
" somewhere in Gothenburg" Resturant 2112 , the pub that Björn and Peter from In Flames own :)
albert elbet I was browsing through the comments just looking for someone mentioning this :D
svelle Then atleast i did something good :)
One word, SUPERB! An immense player, full of melodies and expression and no annoying facial expressions :) Only one player in the world like him and that's IA himself.
I'd love a G3 with Mattias, Vai and Greg Howe. I just love their styles and sounds. The three of them play really perfect, every note counts.
really liking this playing
that first note is so beautifully struck.
what a beautiful guitar.
That is so wild and beautiful 😮
Well that is one way to sell an amp =)
Worked for me anyway.
His solo is so hot it melted his frets!
I went to one of his clinics here in The Netherlands. Really nice dude and his playing is just so unique and awesome! Lovely little amp this is btw!
THOSE HARMONICS O.O
fabrizio peretti They are really easy to get on the Applehorns. I recently got one ;-) I imagine it has to do with the THICK walnut top...
Wow, what a great tune!
Mr. Eklundh-YOU ROCK!
amazing tune. getting this little amp tomorrow
This dude has a refreshing and interesting original style.
From what I hear he mostly uses the caparison stock pickups PH-R for bridge and SH27F for neck. In this video the bridge pickup looks like a Dimarzio Crunchlab or a D Sonic I don't know for sure.
I like the part when he played the guitar.
xSijnx A man with my sense of humor. At last. 😊
I liked the rest as well tbh
awesome product by yamaha. it has everything you might need on the go.
Such an amazing and unique player.
This guy's playing is insane.
Great video! Awesome camera work, too
bloody insane man ... love ur playing
Very clean and precise - well impressed!
Mattias, like most great musicians, never get the respect they deserve and it's starting to piss me off!
This guy is like a cross between Satch/Govan/and Vai
cast390 yeah.... fucking boring isnt it?!!
+terrormonkey1 yes
bollocks! hes just wanking off musically... have u heard the thr10x's..?!! this is just about the WORST tone i have heard coming from one!!! his playing has less soul than lindsey lohan's eyes!!*****

The same guy that frets Steve Vai's guitars had a crack at this one too! Perfect intonation anywhere on the fret board!
Mattias, amazing as usual...
Wow that is amazing playing. Great to hear floyd for more than the sake of floyd
nice playing man! very cool sound
he know very well how to use his floyd rose. This sounds good
I love him, fuck stereotypes about how you should use a guitar, just live music
I played one of these at guitar center and have to say, I was amazed! I am getting one :)
Amazing. His playing is so over my head. 🥴🤣🏁🤘

How do these guys get their strings so close to the fretboard ?
I never knew someone can be so good on the piano 😜
What song is he playing? It's lovely
I do not care the amp but the guitar player is amazing!
Hi my friend, please could you explain what kinds of scales are using to get this sound. Thanks.
Google his videos about harmonics
Fantastic
wow any way to share that setting, getting the amp next week
very nice guitar and bad ass amp THRX
Holy Shit!! The word needs to get out on this guy!!
That Fretbends?? Iam confused? Is this a half fan fret D?? I never seen that really
True temperament frets look it up online 👍🏻😁
I will...
Were Peter and Björn there as well?
I desperately need this mini amp.
Can you get a good Black Sabbath riff tone out of these small amps???
Any one know what dimarzio pickups he is using in this video?
Mohi29 CrunchLab in the bridge and my guess is a Hot Rails in the neck. Could be a Choppa or a Moe Joe. Not sure.
+Thad White super late reply but he uses the d sonic
Are those frets bent or is it my eyes ?
True temperament fretting. Every note has perfect intonation
I’m impressed!
Did you write the music to Rad Gravity? :)
Master!!!
Cool Sound.
Sorry Yamaha, I came here to hear Mattias only :D.
Is this recorded at the In Flames dudes restaurant in Gothenburg?
Yes! 2112, I noticed the board in the back too haha.
Just awesome
Yeah, but wots it sound like wen u play something?
what type of pickups does he use?
what is this song? is it in any of his albums?
I can hear the Jeff Beck influence
I kinda hear Leo Fender and bunch of other guys influence too.
@@foreigner2017 leo fender? When did he ever play?
Awesome awesome music!!!!
You have a thing for the whammy right?
amazing!

what pickups does mattias use?
Christopher Walken: You can see it...from out space
That's how you demo a amp... Mattias Rules!! -
those frets scare me.
Me too!!!!!
it's the future
Sold. Want one!
MATTIAS IA GENIUS
Now, imagine using a slide in your fingers with this skills with the FloydRose...
Incredible!
I know Mattias has recently joined the DiMarzio family, I believe he is using the D Sonic and chopper in his guitars.
What kind of guitar is that?
+Jacob Martin His signature Caparison Apple Horn, with True Temperament frets
hummm i thought this was a head .. but hes got it miked.? must be some small 4 in speakers...but sounds good
I love it
great!!!
