Being an Indian, it makes me very proud that our music has influenced the Queen of Pop and the greatest female entertainer of the world. It all started with Erotica (remember the backing vocalist's part which was also featured in The Beast Withgin in RIT and Sitar and Tabla parts?). Then carried on to Ray of Light(Frozen, Shanti Ashtangi, SKin) album then Cyber Raga, The beast within and Hollywood in RIT, I'm a sinner (MDNA tour), etc. Apparently Indian music has definitely caught her attention. Still she never bothered doing a single show in India which is very surprising. Does she not know that she has a massive fan base there?
Munawar Shah the vocal in Erotica and used in The Beast Within is by a Lebanese singer Fairouz, the song is called El Yom Ollika,it is arabic but is a christian song.
@@ColinsCity You're right there. I heard the full version once. Somebody had told me she was Iranian or from somewhere like that. But I didn't know that it was a christian song. Even though I'm a muslim, I don't understand a single word in Arabic (well just a few)
Munawar Shah the bible in Lebanon is written in Arabic haha but also the producer of the song added Fayrouz vocal without getting approval and there was a law suit because of this.

I think I was 4 when this album was released but oh my God how I have worshipped this woman since I was old enough to appreciate her. This is utterly beautiful, experimental and transcendent. No one but my Queen could have rendered a demo this fascinating and a new album awaits us. I love you Madonna. I wish I was a tenth of the woman you are.
Wow, in all honesty, as entrancing as the album version is, I think I love this even more. It's rawer, darker. My favourite element here is the synth playing fifths during the chorus, it sounds heart-wrenching somehow. Like some sort of drawn out, electric sitar lament from another dimension. Kind of an obscure gamer reference here, but it reminds me of the soundtrack to the original Unreal, more specifically the track Dusk Horizon that plays when you step out of the crashed prison vessel. I played that game as a child and the soundtrack is pretty much etched into my soul at this point; probably why this evokes so much for me. The '90s were such a brilliant decade for electronic music. Yet another reason I wish I were born a decade or two earlier.
The instrumental sounds a bit like SALOME by BUNBURY. The song was released in 1996 and that album also mixed "indian" music with electronic. Ray of Light continues to be my favourite Madonna album and SKIN is probably my fave alongside Ray of light and Frozen.
The chorus in the demo version has such an Autechre feel to it; reminds me a lot of their track Piezo. Definitely prefer flirtation dance to Skin, has such a raw sound to it.

Her demos are better than her past few (post 50) records. We would love to see her try a rock direction and a record in French and Italian in honor of both sides of her family because Europe is her audience over the U.S. with the Cheesepuff-in-Chief at this point. The question is, can her voice handle anything without vocoder and autotune anymore?

Madonna has always had the BEST producers. She would not have been able to do it all by herself, still talented, but songs Like A Virgin and her early hits weren't even written by her.

This album had waaaay more Arabic and Persian infuences, it even said so in the press release. Only Shanti was Indian and it's a pretty poor track!!
Her vocals at the end are very "Erotica". It's like Dita singing on Orbit's production, amazing !
