    This was more than fun and entertaining (that too!), this was a great review! Whether someone agrees with your decisions or likes the camera or not, you were quick, methodical, interesting, information-packed, no-nonsense. You quickly and easily covered the basics and a bunch more. I especially liked the demos: vivid, illustrative, well placed. The venue was good for this, too. This is among the best handled reviews I've seen. Thanks for putting this together. Great job!

    Ive praised this guy on another of his videos, but he is establishing himself as the benchmark on youtube for camera reviews. I think hes superb the way he summarises lots of detail about cameras into small speeches so he doesnt go on too much. Im actually looking for a camera that shoots 1080p @ 60fps and also has the ability to take quality photos, seems the 3300 could be a good choice. Anything else you could recommend against the 3300 ?

So good to watch and listen to positive information without all the droning technical stuff that generally just makes my eyes glaze over :-) and also great to watch a reviewer who doesn't rely on sarcasm to get a point across ... ala the chaps on Digitalrevtv ...thanks for this review

      I could only be considered related to the Chinese if you go far enough back in history to when the first settlers from China moved to the island of Japan. And I'm only half Japanese so you must be very disappointed. Still I love Chinese culture and I really want you to like me anyways. Thanks for watching.

    Nice review as always. As to Canon not offering something similar, maybe they realize that such a camera isn't relevant in today's market? I mean, we now have mirror less system camera which can match, and even surpass, this camera image quality, speed and features in a smaller, lighter and more manageable package. I would have suggested this Nikon to friends 5 years ago, but today? No.

    • @scynapseentertainment899
      @scynapseentertainment899 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Deepika Agarwal you can see him using the 35mm f 2.8 in the video, so I don't think they intentionally tried to trick you. But instead just show what the camera can acchieve with good glass. The 35mm is not an expensive one btw, so its just showing the dept of field mostly.

  • @olivercamacho8810
    @olivercamacho8810 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Hey dude! I have noticed that you changed your lens to 50mm or 85mm lens on the middle part of your video (3:30).. I can tell by the way it looks and it's kinda big too so it's not an 18-55 mm glass. hahaha.. Somehow it makes the quality of the picture stunning compared to its kitlens (18-55). Cheating for marketing huh.. ;)

    • @roylindsey7030
      @roylindsey7030 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello. I've been searching for what camera to buy for about 6 months. Every time I think I've made a decision, I always back out, not wanting to make the wrong one. I think the main two it's boiled down to are the Nikon D3300 or the Pentax k-50. The d3300 is recommended all across the web as a great beginner DSLR (which I am), but once I stumbled across the k-50 I've read good reviews too. The think I am really concerned about the k-50 is the noise. I've heard it is quite noisy, and I'm not sure if that's the best for me. Also, the weight. I've actually looked into mirrorless cameras quite a bit, because I carry my camera around. With all this in mind, which would you suggest? Also, I've considered the Olympus OM-D E-M10. What about that one? I just can't make a decision.

    You can certainly change ISO fast. On the side of the camera there is a button labeled Fn, this is a function button which can be set to do multiple things, by default it should be set to ISO settings. Just press the button and scroll the wheel to adjust the ISO, you can even see it while looking through the viewfinder.

    I am planning to buy the D5300(some details make me prefer it over D3300), but I am facing a dilemma when it comes to lenses. After some research I have ended up with these combinations. I would really appreciate your opinion. So:
    1)Nikon 18-55mm VR II (kit lens) + 55-300mm VR
    2)Nikon 35mm f/1,8G + 55-300mm VR
    3)Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM
    4)18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC (OS)* MACRO HSM
    Because of budget restrictions I can go only with one of these lenses or combination of lenses. What do you think??

    I understand your comment about lack of an ISO button for anybody used to one; however, you should look into Nikon's Auto ISO feature (All Nikon DSLRs) -- basically you can set Min ISO, Max ISO 'AND' Minimum shutter speed. The camera takes care of all three aspects. So you can shoot in P or A mode and never have to worry about the shutter speed or ISO until light gets too low for the Max ISO+Min Shutter speed to be underexposing, only then would the Min Shutter drop below your set point (but it never raises ISO above your Max setting). Thanks.

    nice camera review, and it does this excellent -- yet 'entry-level' -- camera justice. I am as impressed by it as you are at @TheCameraStoreTV. The real-life downsides of this camera are more hidden though, also see marquix.net/two-years-real-life-usage-pros-cons-nikon-d3300/ ‎for details. To shoot video remotely, you actually absolutely can NOT monitor what you're shooting, as this camera's menu does not allow for any control connections while set to LiveView (which is a pre-requisite for video on this camera though). Very annoying and partly anihilating the usefulness of this otherwise excellent little guy! On the plus side, it is one of the lowest-cost cameras to offer full 60 fps 1080p video shooting, which I absolutely lllove and actually bought this camera for. IMHO, it is time that Nikon would FINALLY start thinking a bit more about videographers and not continue to ignore this segment altogether (thereby leaving so many chips on the table and really playing in to the hands of Panasonic or even Canon with their plasticky and Digital-Restrictions-laden stuff I'd never touch)... Nikon really ought to fight harder in order to not sleep on their past rewards of inventing a great SLR technology in 1957 and missing out on everything else after that! Wake up, guys, and turn Nikon around. (Nikon continues to exhibit remainders of that thinking even in their lates top/model D850... That's really very sad.) While we appreciate good still-photography tools, more versatile ones also doing decent video -- and appropriate video handling and UX -- are needed to keep your position in today's market.
    Anyway, your video review is highly appreciated, thank you for sharing.

    Quick question, at 3:18 I saw 1080/30p. In the folder from a store I saw that it could do 50fps and 1080p puu.sh/rHzA8/cd8a75764f.png
    On a website I looked at the specs, and it talks about 1080p and 60fps. puu.sh/rHzCI/7c28628550.png
    And now I look at a review and you say 1080p30. So.. What should I believe? Or can it do 720p60 and 1080p30?

    How does this camera compare to the D5300 and Sony a6000. Looking to purchase an upgrade from my P&S and wanted something I can learn on and grow into a decent photographer. Mainly parties, vacations, events, some sports maybe. What do you suggest? Also do you take your sample shots in this video on AUTO or manual modes?

    I have recently just acquired the Nikon D3300, and I am impressed with it. I know it doesn't have bracketing, but my Canon Powershot SX40 HS has it, and despite trying to understand and use the bracketing feature on that camera, I still don't fully understand what it is trying to do. So, I do not really miss it on this camera. And, of course, it had all of the filters, i.e. night scene, portrait, etc., which is what this camera has too. And, I never used that feature much on the Canon. I bought this camera as a introduction into the DSLR world to be a better photographer. As I said earlier, I am impressed with what I have gotten, no gripes or complaints. I've only had it since Christmas...lol But, in conclusion, if you want the HDR, and all that other stuff, then you are going to pay for it in a different camera. It depends on your needs, your wants, and what you want to pay for in order to those things. But, for my needs and my wants I'm happy with the Nikon D3300.

    TheCameraStoreTV which bundle is better: Nikon D5200 with old 18-55 kit lens (U$750) or Nikon D3300 with this 18-55 Kit lens (U$650)? The tilt screen + focus system are the only plus for D5200?

    The D3300
    A very solid review of an solid entry level Dslr.
    It certainly makes it to my top 3 of cheapish Dslrs.
    The 1200D has been announced about a week ago.
    This will blow that Canon out of the water with EASE.

    I have a question, if you don't mind me asking, It'd be really helpful if someone can help me. I believe something happened to my Nikon D3300. Does the screen go off automatically when you just put your eye in the viewfinder? without pressing any buttons? I didn't pay attention to this when I first got the camera and I know the screen goes off once you half-press the shooter button and goes back on after you release it or take a picture. I'm not completely sure the screen goes off just by putting your face close to the viewfinder, but I'd say I'm 80% certain that it did before... I don't know what happened, suddenly the screen won't go off unless you press the shooter button.
    Let me rephrase the question just in case, When you put your eye in the viewfinder, without pressing any buttons, does the screen go off automatically???

    Great review. I am bit confused with canon eos 1200d and canod d3300 . I think d3300 is overall a better package.But canon eos 1200d with an extra 55 -200mm lens is having the same price as that of nikon d3300. So which one should i really go for ?

    I would appreciate it, if you could use the "Kit-Lense" throughout the review and not switch sometimes to your, I think faster (2.8), prime lense. In fact no one who buys this effordable great camera will shoot with such a fast lense, won't he?
    But that being said, nice and smart review though! :)

    I do a lot of scenic hiking, and I'm looking for a camera to help capture the beauty of some of the places I visit - I'll be visiting the southwest this summer, and stopping at places such as Zion NP and Grand Canyon NP. I feel like it would be an injustice to capture the landscape of theses places with my iPhone or go pro. Would this be a good camera for what am I looking for. All input is welcome. Thanks

    Do nikon d3300 outperformes d5200.. this is a burning question most of the beginers are facing now. I checked on dxo marks. 5200 have better score but the site also provided information like most of the lenses performes better on d3300. Ony thing interested is the image quality and i'm not concerned about flipout screen. Do consider this question and please give a reply.

    This review sold me on the camera. It's a sleeper, meaning, it's very powerful and is in the top 3 of best entry level cameras on the market now in the $400 price range, it competes with higher end cameras like 7D etc, but we all know that at the end of the day it's skill over gear.... This review is rather inaccurate. he says that there is no button for ISO but there is. since you can't change aperture in live view but you can. would have liked to have seen him get to know the camera a bit more before reviewing it as this review doesn't fully do the camera Justice as a FANTASTIC entry level DSLR.

    • @rustynugget2288

      probably the a58 just because of the view finder. It's electronical so you get to see what your picture will mostly look like before you take the shot
