Pro tip: not sure when they made this change, but if you just hit E normally without mousing over a teammate, Annie automatically self casts her shield
It's true. I was your teammate and you weren't casting it on me.
They gave that change like 1 or 2 patches after Annie E could shield allies. Or maybe it was same patch.
It was mostly because thats how old Annie E worked and they didnt want to lose that original feeling of her E.
Where u just pressed E and it shielded
I distincly remember an option allowing you to do that with any buff spell available more than 10 years ago. Never understood why it wasn't by default.
@@bouboulroz I've actually been tempted to turn it off lately, it's helped in some scenarios but in others it makes clutch timing heals/buffs on allies really really rough, since being early on a timing (say on a zhonyas) by a millisecond means you eat the CD
on the other hand there are a lot of situations that it makes life so much easier

I'm an Annie main and I max W after 2 points in Q. W base dmg and scaling is better than Q's, plus you won't miss if target is already stunned xD
DPS-Wise it's better to Q max. If you're going all in on your opponent, you'll be able to land another Q because of its much shorter duration.
Yes, the scaling of W has a difference of 30 extra base damage at max rank W compared to max rank Q at level 9.
Q115 + W250 = 365
Q220 + W115 = 335
but if you're able to land another Q at the end of your rotation, that's an 75 extra base damage compared to 30.
Q115 + W250 + Q115 = 480
Q220 + W115 + Q220 = 555
It's very rare to be in a 1 v 1 all-in fight against your opponent that lasts longer the 8 seconds for you to land another W on them. You will most likely have another Q to land, however. And even if the fight does last longer than 8 seconds, you'd be able to land a third Q based on cooldowns which again results in more damage.
It's actually only better to W max when you DON'T want to 1v1 your opponent and need to play more toward wave clear/roams. i usually go W Max when there's a perma push/tanky mid opponent like Sion/Galio that I cannot kill even with my all-in.

Dealing most damage only matters if you win the game. Just like getting 30 kills means nothing if you lose.
I haven't watched the video yet but the biggest problem with annie is she falls off so hard mid game after enemy has gold
all you need is a banshees/EoN and you can permanently disable an annie carry
at that point as annie you are reliant on your team to win the game and can no longer solo carry

"permanently disable" is a strong phrase. Both of those items have CDs that are long enough that an experienced Annie could get off 2 stun rotations.
Plus, that would mean the enemy would have to be itemizing for Annie first. And considering that "mid game" would probably be 2 items, banshee's/EoN are probably not going to be something you buy in your first 2 items.
Also, how can you say "I genuinely dont know how people climb with her outside of low elo" when you just watched Pekin, in Diamond+ elo, show how to win a game with her? It's like you didn't watch the video at all.

0:30 why did you chose to use flash there? you could have killed kennen without flash or ignite.
At 0:30? You definitely need to flash to guarantee the kill. Kennen is at a spot where the wall is too thick for Annie's Q range (625) and his allies don't have anything after Kennen uses (E) lightning rush to run away from the glacial augment procs.
The mistake he made was that he changed his original pathing towards the Tribush at 0:27 but I'm guessing he pathed towards Baron pit to Q over the wall and probably overestimated the distance that he would be able to reach since he didn't know Kennen had E. The ignite however was used too quickly since flash range (425) is a lot shorter than ignite (600) so can still be used to secure the kill with an extra auto only if Kennen flashes away.

See 19:42 onwards for why Ingenious Hunter is not necessary on Annie with Ludens. Relentless Hunter allows him to roam more & generally be on the map quicker to get picks. Ultimate Hunter is also an option I assume.
