The mobs respawn at midnight only if your on the island... leave before midnight go back next day and there may be 1 or 2 mobs spawned... most times they have not respawned for me.
its a little different on the rafts etc... they seem to respawn after a time...
Hyped for the series! I really love this game. A good source of rubber is recycling components. You'll get a ton of iron ingots also.
I find it helpful to put a platform next to the trader and put a barrel on it so I can store stuff for later trading.
There was something that was added to fill your air tanks on the go. I believe youll unlock them later, but they are blue air canisters that will fill up half of your air tank. The downfalls are that they dont stack and are a one use item that take copper to make. But (last time i played) it only takes 1 copper bar to make 4 of those refill tanks (2 full air tank refills)
There's more guys to kill on every island/platform, and they do respawn, but it's like 1 every 5-8 minutes. I cleaned out all of the guys on Radio Island but before I got the last of the loot about 3 had respawned back near the beach area. So it isn't as bad as it seems.
Wait for the Machete. Get the Iron Spear.

Like shadowdancer states below, on the island, they respawn at midnight if you are still on the island, when you were on Radio Island there are 40 mutants to start. When you kill one, it tells you how many are left where the enemies health bar is...wait until you loot the machete.
When you decide to take the refilling station with you, the best way is to take just 2 air tanks. You go down and get as much loot as you can get, do a hot swap if needed and when you come up just refill both tanks quickly and go again. It’s the most efficient way of doing things. Great vid as always bro!
Also the first axe is the best when you’re chopping loot to get wood because it’s much faster, but when you go to chop trees and bushes, you definitely should bring your bigger axe!
The Combat Knife makes every other cutting item Useless....crafted on the Anvil...!!
The Big Air Tank becomes Very Good when used With the meal that gives the diving buff AND the Lung pills....use all 3 together..!!
Repair the Broken Armor pants, especially the Blue one to get a Huge Armor Rating..!!!
Wearing the Warm Jacket ALL the time allows you to night dive and stay out without needing any heat source..!!
Kage848, Duck island has copper ore nodes, it's left from Rock island with the iron nodes and fairly easy to conquer.
Kage the copper nodes are at the Radio Island I think it's called it's one of the first islands in the beginning of the game.
You should end up with a finished product for using materials to research something. Maybe it jams or causes less damage but, you could get incremental improvements (up to two or three) if you craft again and again... a practice makes perfect mechanic.
if anyone didn't notice you can destroy the pillars or columns for roofs and floors and they will stay up so you can have a floating base.
Rubber Duck Island, Small Rock Island and Radio Island are good to start farming some copper. There's lots of sulfur at the bottom of the ocean around Radio Island as well.
Enemies start respawning at midnight, so you need to be carefull rading islands during night time. At this point you can't place flags so you can't claim any islands.
I use the looted axe/the dark 1 you take off raiders.You'll take down a tree in 3 swipes and you can go toe to toe with combat knife wielding 'marines'.Oh it costs nothing lol.
About the respawn, if you are on the island/enamy territory at 0:00, 5 enamy will respawn. If you come back to a place that you cleared out, there will be no enamy. But if you stay there until 0:01, 5 will respawn.
Hi Kage, they didnt respawn when you got inside the gate, you actually passed 2 guys without seeing them :P
also they respawn 4-5 guys every 24hr, so when you go to sleep 100% 4 guys will respawn, at least that how it happened to me everytime
If you are looking for lots of Iron and copper then that Radio Island has ton of it, but you need to clear it first, be aware there are 4-5 guys with guns over there
There were enemies to the heft center when you went in and didnt see them cuz of low light…no respawn happened while you were in that base…number representing the enemies was correct.
From my experience staying in a location overnight, a few of them respawn in the morning.
just bought the game an spent a couple days to grind and take out the factions, for me the Flags work just fine, you can only plant one after you got rid of all the current enemies on said island. Hope that helps. i love the game and might do another slower run and build.
There's a portable armor repair tool, definitely worth making.
Fastest Tree chopping tool in the game is the Combat Knife try it you will be supersized
Combat knife is the best melee weapon and also cut trees in 2 hit
The two handed axe definitely isn't worth it speed and stamina wise. But check out the machete!
They only respawn on me when I leave and go back to my base overnight. There is a ton of guys in there and when its getting dark its super hard to see them all
The iron spear is worth making, wait on the machete till an enemy drops one. IMHO
Regarding the machete, you will get the skull crusher and will be enough until you get the combat knife, which is the best melee weapon
0% respawning behind you, they respawn at midnight.
At Radio Island, before it was 2 or 3 different spots where the enemy spawned, I did not get how it works but yeah, the numbers of enemies are not correct I guess as well.
A few respawn after midnight if you are on the island. Or on an island.
I had no issues with respawning, rather there were a lot of guys on the island, but several were in different areas

You are using the sail wrong, if you want to go at full speed you have to turn the sail in the direction the little flag is turning because the flag shows you which way the wind is blowing.There is a speed on the screen that shows you if you are doing it wrong or right.

I've had more luck shooting enemies in the head with the crossbow by aiming for their balls.
