  • In this video Ferc, Jhan and Brian all get out to Island Dragway for some 1/4 Mile runs. The Squad went up to Island Dragway for a "Test and Tune" night and we were finally able to see what these cars can do. Both Ferc and Jhan had never raced before but Brian was coming off his first races this past week.
    Hope you enjoy.

Man, i have a 2023 2SS A10 and did the 1/4 mile in 12.2, my worst time was 12.7. the only thing done to the car was the wheels. i put NITTO 555 D2, 285 front and 305 rear. engine full stock. No tune, no air down tires (did not know that) did not use launch control, i did old school just hold the break, press the gas at 2000 rpm and launch, did it in sport mode with only the traction control off (competitive mode still OFF). i think the SS can hit the 11.8 or 11.9 with better traction and a good driver, am not that good, but i have some fun!

We have a new video inbound with some better times but I think there are a few random factors like air temp and track prep that probably affect the times a bit.

Take off is key in these suckers, I'm sure you guys can break into the 12's when you master the launches! Beautiful cars and great efforts, obviously not pro drivers but you gotta start somewhere and get your feet wet, great effort guys!! I've had my car for a little while and I want to get to a road course personally but it would be fun to take it to the drags too.

Newbs, lol. Gotta learn to warm street tirez and lower the prezsure to about 29psi then try 27, or 26. Light wisps of smoke. And dont do launch control guys thats for a car with drag tires or slicks and actuslky makes the cars slower. Also dont use paddles for shifting in tge suto. I know you boys have a lot to learn but thats psrt of the fum. Be careful. Any minor bum will trigger sensors buolt in toin star and log your location. Dealer will see you were at a track and not work on whats broken if its related.

@@wakamotorsports I plan on going to the strip this summer myself, be my first time. Not sure what to expect, but if the in car gauge is accurate, I did a 1/4 mile run on the street 12.7. 67 degrees F at the time on mildly uneven road. I actually let off the gas on the 3rd shift I was concerned I was driving to fast for the condition of the road. I was obviously disappointed because my car is modified, but I try to tell myself I've never done a 1/4 mile run before then. I am hoping track conditions are better. I do practice 0-60 runs a lot though. And I do it with all TC off and without Launch Control like Jhan. I don't trust launch control... yet. Hopefully, my first track experience isn't to disappointing! My intention is to go into this trying to learn to launch properly, that is my only goal. Not trying to break any records, just learn and have fun.
