    he broke into a new field at two intervals toward the end...one around 6:33 culminating 6:40 to ride out..and another near the very end.. these are what he was always searching to find.. new vistas, barrier smashing synesthetic expeditions.. he's doing it still---- of course..

    Man! Jimi Must have been one of the most prolific guitar artist ever, or at least the most recorded on audio. I swear, In the few very short years that he was successfully performing he certainly never went anywhere without a guitar in his hands and usually somewhere someone would roll some tape and capture yet another "rare" impromptu Hendrix jam with whoever, wherever, whenever Jimi and likely entourage of hangers on traveled. I dynamic musical whirlwind merry go round party.
    How much music is out there that he produced. Did he go anywhere without a guitar? True guitar slinger! Love Jimi so much! It is too bad his light shined so brightly and burned out so quickly because he was so brilliant.

      Pretty sure it is the Royal Albert Hall version, I recall (it was on some inexpensive Dime Store cassette that then became more valuable to me than gold or diamonds and that I carried halfway around the world and back, but have now lost or perhaps it ''spilled''). But yeah, this version (much more sparse and slowed down) is great.
      PS Been too long since I actually searched. This:th-cam.com/video/nP9LpS_0tHM/w-d-xo.html
      What I had 35 years ago was a snippet of this performance. What is unreal is that there is vid. of it. What an assemblage. Hippies, cops, lawyers and gangsters (the ones in suits), full band, including Rocky and a flute player, and some young child (no hearing protection!). Cant imagine what the little kid is thinking!

  • @clarkewi
    @clarkewi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +44

    The band is high as a kite on acid - probably 400mics each between Jimi and Mitch.. I attended the San Jose concert at this time Jimi and the Experience ruled the roost and you can really hear it. Mitchell's ghostly marching beat. It's almost a lilt. Jimi responds to the shaman. You can hear Jimi going into a trance. That was the magic ov this band. They tansported you to another galaxy.

    Jimi played at Maple Leaf Gardens that night. Later that evening around 1:00am he showed up at the Night Owl in Yorkville (a part of Toronto) with Mitch Mitchell. They took to the stage and played for a small group of people. Jimi played bass. A very good friend of mine lived above the Night Owl and saw the whole show that night. Said it was amazing!!! True story.

      @@mjimih! I'm replying to you because I can't get under the email to find a new place to reply. After I saw Jimi Hendrix I have only met under ten people who said they were there. This is exciting for me, only I can't use photos and scans. Don't fret, mjimih, if you liked Jimi for his records you can't jam all those dubs, tracks, overdubs and pieces of tape Jimi would dub in backwards. Oh, that's right! That's why playing live is better.

      I only got as close as one of the many exit doors surrounding the round St Paul Civic Center on May 3rd 1970. My older bro and I were to pick up Paul at door E. I was 9, and can still hear Jimi's Voodoo Child-sr coming thru that door it was so loud.

    I remember something about him being busted for it in Canada.
    IIRC he said in court that although he had tried it in the past he was at the stage in his spiritual development that he was no longer using it. He said the reason he came in possession of it was he mentioned he had a headache and a chick said "I have something for that" and threw it in his bag and he didn't check to see what it was at the time.

      No not really possible for that time period. Having grown up in that era you had to sneak the cassette recorders into the concerts! Cassettes were new at that time and not designed to be the same quality as a reel to reel. They weren't exactly cheap either. There are a few concerts that Jimi used his own Revox deck to record the performances. I wonder what happened to them?

    Hendrix loved his grass,but his acid was areable,or snortable,that's how he could do hour trips not days.This acid was custom made for leading Rock groups and forces.A boss of mine who was a major Dylan collector who had Earl Stanley Owsley 3 acid frozen,he promised me a taste but never came through.I last tripped in 93,friend with four sons thought it was great,I was the ruber band man and I usually only smoke any weed available when I perform,because it blocks outside distractions to complete concentration in pe0rforming,which I love to do.Wish I could tour seasonally or perform every night,but that's Europe,not America,as Im a bum in rags,but it takes a man who knows the blues to play good blues?right?Chris Young @ Barbara Salisbury 25 videos youtube
