I rode the XSR 900 and luv it. It was that orange and white but it didn’t have the GP options on it.
I enjoyed the video.
The engine is a perfect for the bike, the GP bike looks the part but the reality is I couldn’t ride it for long periods of time. Plenty of power for the road. Thanks for watching
If I had to choose definitely the XSR 👍🏼
it’s got to be the best looking sports retro of 2024. It was a pleasure to ride
I nipped into Crescent Yamaha between meetings this morning and had a look at the XSR900 GP. Even more beautiful in the flesh. Not sure I'd sell my Ninja 1000sx Performance Tourer and go with the XSRGP alone, but as a former 'Elsie' lad, I'd love one alongside the Ninja.
I agree it’s definitely looks better in the flesh, as a addition to your already great Ninja it would look nice together 👍🏍️💨💨💨
For almost every year I have preferred the aesthetics of the XSR, but the MT/FZ looks great this year. Might look better with the XSR bars and light, though.
It’s a tough choice, so many options 👍
The 23 is definitely better looking than the 24 from the front. The 24 is like a parts bin not sure what Iook like.
My two favorites are the XSR900 and the MT-09SP
Both fantastic bikes. The MT-09 was a little easier on the wrists for me though 👍
I bought the GP. Love it .
Good choice! What a great bike, iconic looks and modern performance, what more do we need. Enjoy buddy 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨
What’s the seat like on the xsrgp, is it the same as xsr. Hard??
I personally didn’t find it to bad but I’m use to riding a racing seat on a R6 so anything would feel better than that. I’ve not riden a XSR for a while so I could compare it to anything
That new MT-09 is a great bike
It’s a amazing bike
The MT09 is the bike i intend i change my trident for next year. Hoping still some 2024 bike available around March 25 time discounted.
This new 2024 is brilliant and looks better for sure. I’m tempted myself after riding it 🏍️💨💨💨💨
@@thatbikersimon If i hadn't had brought a Tracer 7 back in May i think the Trident would have been swapped for the MT09 already. Put them pennies away and hopefully can get a nice discounted bike dealers trying to clear early next year......well that is what i'm hoping
@@simoncrnfrth I wish you good luck, sounds like you’ve got a nice collection already but it’s always nice to look forward to the next one. Let me know how it plans out 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Why didn't you compare the mt09 with the xsr900, standard, its in the middle for seating position
That’s wasn’t a option.
Enjoyed video two interesting bikes live in Uppingham so know great biker roads ducati addict myself
Thanks 👍
Getting the SP😛
Yes matey, I’m going to ride it as soon as they have one in
Why when riding a bike do you ralk with your hands???
That’s just what I do
I sold my 2022 MT09SP last year, I found the lack of decent fairing and wind noise/ buffeting (even with Puig mid size screen) to be hard to deal with when on long freeway trips, but way too much fun around town.
You could certainly get yourself into trouble with the MT09 beasty, but yes it’s probably not the best for longer distances. What did you buy instead?
@@JohnSmith-sj2dk the 660 was a bike I always fancied a test ride on, sounds like a good compromise
@@thatbikersimon suits me more than the Tenere I think, will let you know ;)
I tour on my MT09, ever heard of ear plugs?
@@hiddendragon415 Yeah, but they keep getting eaten by my dang dog...
XSR does have a longer wheel base making it more stable
That makes sense. More
Planted for track
...but less wheelyable, if thats your thing.
Would not have killed them to price the MT-09 at £9999, not impressed by the build quality of 2020 XSR900 nor the 2018 700 Tracer, and both had clunky gearboxes and did not run that well on very hot days. Well under 10k on both, BTW. In the end, went back to Triumph but Honda was also tempting.
There’s a lot of choice out there for sure. I agree on the price it would of made a difference but they’ve got a good bike for 2024 I think it’s takes some beating
XSR 900 GP looks great but you are getting a very sporty position. The MT09 is a better all rounder and daily rider.
I totally agree the gp looks amazing but I personally would be comfortable on it for to long, great fun though
I'd need it for a week to really try it.
Don’t we all lol
R7,Xsr,and xsrgp waiting for the R9 too
The R9 should be an interesting bike. Maybe later this year
I bought the GP
Wicked. 👍 how you getting on with it?
@@thatbikersimon I really like it , a bit wristy as you say at slow speed on the open road is great though. A few years since I've had anything sporty too , I have a w800 and a z900rs too so fancied something a bit different. Good review by the way 👍
@@glenncaukill1320 it’s nice you’ve got the choice of other bime, You can never have too many lol. Let’s hope we get some better weather to ride. Enjoy buddy 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
3:34 can?. Isn't that the standard system?.
Standard can on this bike
I tried this bike the 24 plate. Looks great but I found the throttle twitchy and clunky QS etc.
The stand as well was so clunky putting up and down and looks cheap.
Cornering fast as well wasn't great.
I didn’t find these issues you mention the QS was smooth and smooth on the throttle
@@thatbikersimonyup. Butter smooth. Best quick shifter I’ve ever used.
@@magaudion it’s definitely on par with my multistrada V4
The new SP looks a great spec now
Yes I’m interested in trying this one out to. Brembo brakes on that new SP
2024 MT-09 SP is the king
It’s an amazing bike for sure
Should be mt09 and xrs comparison
Maybe so but the GP is a newer bike
Mt09 👍
My choice to 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Nobody mentioned that the “MT09” in the thumbnail is actually an MT10??
Your not supposed to tell everyone 😂 but I’m going to award you the prize 🏆 it will be updated as soon as I get a left side picture
@@thatbikersimon I aim to please, lol 😘
@@GhostHammerX well spotted. 👍🏍️😂😂😂😂
@@GhostHammerX just updated it 🏍️💨💨💨💨💨😂
@@thatbikersimon 🙌
Quite the demo fleet - R7 looks fantastic, love the XSR and the GP. MT09's trail bike riding position is too upright for anything above town speeds, and the bulbous tank, Darth Vadar headlight and cyan wheels are... well, you wouldn't look back at it after a ride.
There’s to much choice, I’m my ideal world one of each would work for me, but if I had to pick one it would be the MT-09, saying that I’ve not riden the new SP version yet.
Don't know how it rides but visually the 2023 MT09SP is better than the 2024 in every way.
I think the MT-09SP 2024 will be a better bike especially with the brembo brakes
Not many say this.. lol
I have the 23 SP and love it... the 24 looks good too though, I'd be equally happy with either.
Oh and tracer9gt+ awesome
Definitely
Selling loads of the gp so wont stand out for long ala z000rs
Neither. I kept hearing about a comp on the radio to win a MT 09.
Now I see it, it's just another modern style bike that ain't my cup of tea.
Think I started backing away from bikes at some point after 2008 based on looks alone!
I was close to buying a 2nd hand 600 Divvy with half fairing. Respectable, reliable, lower cost to run, but regret not buying it.
A few years later I saw it's replacement and was horrified! And now it's a come theme, jacked up/trail bike look.
And why would I want an aggressive look styled bike....no thanks!
As for the tech on bikes these days, that's even more off putting! Guess it's the EU at it again, killing off already pretty safe bikes if ridden responsibly.
But the EU just love the few idiot bikers making headlines to throw the book at bikers and give them no option to buy a simple, low cost bike without needless expensive clutter on them.
Yes, I can go with fuel injection and ABS on bigger bikes, but nothing else!
Modern bikes are pretty much a copy of modern cars. Gotta have aggressive looks whilst still looking the same blandness as each other!
I get what you're saying, but I don't really agree. While the MT-09 and many modern bikes might not be to your taste, I think there's a lot to appreciate about the advances in technology and design. Bikes have become safer and more efficient, and the aggressive looks appeal to many riders today.
I also believe that regulations, whether from the EU or elsewhere, aim to enhance safety and performance rather than limit our choices. And even though modern bikes might seem similar, there's still a variety out there to suit different preferences. While classic styles have their charm, embracing some of the new features doesn't necessarily mean compromising on the joy of riding.
Residents out with the speed gun WTF. What kind of losers sit out with a radar gun monitoring peoples speed? LOL
I know it’s happens a lot around here
I find it disastrous that the stickers on the sides are full of air bubbles! Unacceptable from Yamaha
I didn’t notice
I really don't like the new 09. Looks cheap and plastically to me.
I actually prefer it to the last gen, to me it looks sharper and more aggressive. Like iron man lol
@@thatbikersimon gen 2 has always been the best looking for me.
@@John-jw8rx next time out out on a bike night I’m going to ask the MT-09 owner what they think😂👍
XSR looks like genuine shit…
Wow lol
