    Thanks for the instructions! I have tried it on a fountain pen with a bent nib(Not from the pelikan company) and it worked really well, almost as good as it was before it bent.

    Thank you very much. I accidentally bent the tip while not paying attention. Your video was really helpful. Although it's not perfect, fountain pens alone has convinced me to never use a ballpoint pen again. So, I'll take it.

    Great job of straightening a bent point. Tell me, what brand was the gorgeous red ink you used in your newly restored pen? Marvelous color. Thanks for a great video.

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen
      @gentleman_of_the_pen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your nice comment. The ink is either Pelikan Edelstein Ruby or Star Ruby, I don't remember exactly. Both are very nice to use and to see. However, between, the (very strong) lighting I used, my camera's color rendition, my color correcting on my computer display, and the display you watch the video on, there is no guarantee that the exact shade of red is accurate...

    What type and model is that waterman gold with 18k nib in the video?

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen
      @gentleman_of_the_pen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a Waterman Man from the 1960s. The nib is top tier quality. It takes old Waterman cartridges like those I show in my Waterman Facette review. I modified a Jinhao converter to use in it.

      @@dilshadhussain5639 Well, it is often found for double that amount in good condition. It's an excellent pen, you won't be disappointed in that respect. Budget-wise you have to decide whether it's worth it or not. I got mine for a third of that amount in an antiques shop, a very good deal I reckon, that would be impossible to replicate on the internet.

    What is that metal item called that you are running the nib over at 6.45?

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen
      @gentleman_of_the_pen  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's the nail file from my swiss army knife.

    • @davidalangordon
      @davidalangordon 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For real? You use The nail file on a Swiss army knife to smooth out a nib I never heard of such a thing. Outrageous! It works better than a super fine abrasive?

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen
      @gentleman_of_the_pen  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@davidalangordon A lot of people smooth their nibs on nail polishing blocks or nail files. A Swiss army knife does the same thing, it is fine enough for a steel nib. This technique isn't textbook but it has always worked for me. In case of doubt I recommend first doing a test on something you don't mind risking to damage.

    • @davidalangordon

      @@gentleman_of_the_pen Hello, I was so surprised to see my Swiss Army Knife file. If it works it works.... I usually use the pink (never), white (sometimes) and gray (mostly) nail buffer size abrasives. Cheers, Dave

    There was a lot of scribbling and some technique. The use of pinzers was great, as well as the use of the file (though some commentary would have been useful. The use of pocket knife blade was missing, it just shows it, but not how it was used!!

    Good video and editing when watched at 2x speed. Not trying to be sarcastic but the voice was just too slow.

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen
      @gentleman_of_the_pen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your feedback and time. I am glad the possibility to watch videos at twice the speed exists in your case. I agree that the pace of the video might be a bit slow but at the same time, the voice should match the music. I find that speaking twice faster would have clashed with my choice of the slow movement from a concerto. My channel is probably not meant for those in a hurry...
      Furthermore, I am not certain I could speak twice as fast, English is not a language I master to that level unfortunately.

      @@gentleman_of_the_pen I suppose I'm glad I took the time to read the comments this far, because I was going to grill you on the speed of your voice. I literally couldn't stand listening, not only because it was so slow, but because the voice you do is really pretentious and annoying. Watching it in 2x is literally the ONLY way it's tolerable. I understand that you're not confident enough in your ability to speak English, but I would honestly suggest you try, because anything, even more broken/improper English would be better than this, just my opinion.
