The Perfect Pen for the Snake Lover : Montblanc Rouge et Noir Fountain Pen Review

How Do You Repair a Bent Fountain Pen Nib?? Case Study: Pelikan M205 Star Ruby

Goldest of Gold Fountain Pens : Waterman Facette Classic Vintage Fountain Pen Review

Do you prefer the Chinese Phoenix over the Mount Fuji Namiki? If so why?

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen

Yes I actually do. The Chinese Phoenix being a metal pen it feels sturdier and has a nice weight. The maki e also has more depth and appears to have more relief, even though both pens are made with hira maki e technique (flat maki e).

Thanks. You said that the pen is made from metal, but to my knowledge it is plastic which makes sense given the weight. The Yukari is metal (brass).

Thanks for the comment. The Chinese Phoenix is definitely a metal pen, likely brass. I have sources to confirm plus it's the impression it gave me when in hand. The mount fuji and wave that appears in my other video on this pen is plastic though.

Thanks for the detailed review. Regrettably not all products are winners. Kind of miss your sass, I guess you were sorely disappointed with this. You showing that you got five beautiful and iconic Parker pens for what you paid for a mediocre new one is a good metric of your buyer's remorse. Would love to hear about the bottom three. @@davidalangordon A lot of people smooth their nibs on nail polishing blocks or nail files. A Swiss army knife does the same thing, it is fine enough for a steel nib. I have been using a genuine Parker 51 since the 1950's and it writes well and has never given any trouble. However the new "Parker 51" is misnamed because it was not designed in 1939 .and the company is giving the impression that it was -misleading naming for a poor product. Your writing script is excellent and gives a very good impression of the pens whether they are good or bad. I wish that the other pen reviewers would emulate your style instead of the scrawl that most of them use. Thank you Bob Major Adelaide South Australia

    • @gentleman_of_the_pen
