The Harsh Reality is that Spurs fans don’t love the club as much as they think they do. Our fanbase don’t really care. Cause if they did they would make more noise, protest and demand more.
That’s a sad fact, we have a generation of fans who really couldn’t care less if we win lose or draw,go to the games ,take pictures of our shiny new stadium & go home,Levy has truly WON,this club is DEAD
Had a lovely day with family and didn’t go near Spurs , no way they were ruining my Boxing Day ‼️. Refuse to support this ownership or manager , I’m done ….
@ The Hotspur Hood Thank you , it was quiet but good with family . Hope you enjoyed yours 🤞🏻. Can’t do it anymore Dan , I need a reason to believe this can be turned around and try as I might I just don’t see things improving . I don’t like or trust either our owners or manager , and with the exception of Sonny no connection to the players . I will still take part in the various Spurs communities on TH-cam but can’t support either team or regime . Breaks my heart to say this but I just don’t recognise my club anymore … take care my friend 💙
Just to think about it. Spurs bought Johnson because we thought he's good enough for Spurs, while Notts Forest bought Elanga as replacement because Man Utd thought he's not good enough for Man Utd and they bought Antony. And now Johnson has stagnated while Elanga improved so much under Nuno that he's better than any Spurs or Man Utd wingers now. Good managers/coaches improve their players period. Like Newcastle's Eddie Howe, in 6 months, turned Joelinton into 10x the player he was, or Thomas Frank who made Mbeumo from an unknown to a player wanted by many bigger clubs. Ange made many players stagnated or even regressed like Biss, Bentacur, or soon VdV.
Danny Boy sacked Nuno Espírito Santo three seasons back who has since gone on to win the Saudi Pro League and the Saudi Super Cup, earning himself a personal fortune! He then returned to The Premier League to save Nottingham Forest from relegation last season, despite a points deduction. This season he has turned Nottinham Forest into serious top 4 Champions League contenders on a miniscule budget, whilst Danny Baby's personally chosen head coach has turned Tottenham Hotspur into a bottom half of the table outfit, despite Levy spending hundreds of millions on his own personally chosen footballers. And yet the Lewis family refuses to fire the Chairman with the worst trophy per season percentage stats of any THFC chairman since World War Two? This could only happen at ENIC HOTSPUR... AIA
I get Ian’s point the fact that yes Ange is a shit manager and I want him gone but just focusing on Ange as the problem then allows levy to perpetuate his cycle of hiring a new manager and he then gets off the hook until the next manager fails. That is an underlying issue that we can’t get a way from and levy knows it. As long as we focus on managers and their inability to lead the team to success we accept levy’s hiring of managers and the cycle begins again. That’s where Savva is only focusing on Tottenham as a football team that plays games and recruits players. Yes this is valid but we’re only talking about Ange because levy hired him. The man hiring the managers should be just as culpable for appointing a horrible manager and pressure needs to be on levy as much as Ange before the new manager is hired.
I think we could fix so many problems at our club by Levy stepping completely into the background after appointing Glenn Hoddle as DoF. Smart guy and 100% Spurs legend. The first thing on Glenn’s list should be to sack the entire coaching and scouting staff.
Another problem is the home crowd (as opposed to the away fans)! By basically doubling the attendance you automatically decrease the knowledgeable and true fanbase percentage of the crowd! And that causes little or no impact to viable attempts to unsettle Levy and the board!$
He’s gotta go if he has any respect for the fans and the club he should walk today he can’t see the wood for the trees not a premier league manager he’s at best a championship manager at very best
I have previously posted a lot of pro-Ange comments in the past. It’s becoming more and more difficult with the results. The issue here is that the early “growing pains” that marked the start of Ange's reign at the club can look indistinguishable from Ange being incompetent or evidence that his system doesn’t work at this level. Ange Reign typically looks like he is an incompetent manager until it magically clicks and the sceptics are proven wrong. Unfortunately, the longer this goes more and more it appears the latter is true and the reality is that in the past Ange needs a maximum of one year until the system clicks. 18 months is the longest growing pain period in Ange's career and it’s quite unfair for fans of Tottenham to take it on faith that this will eventually work especially as performance is going backwards. If he gets sacked, he won’t have anything to complain about. Regarding the tactics, even I am getting frustrated regarding the inflexibility. Towards the end of season 1, there were signs that Ange in the second season would become a synthesis of all his earlier systems in his career. In the Brisbane Roar days it was a 4-3-3 with traditional overlapping fullbacks (this was presented in Man Utd's 2-0 victory in the first season where the fullback stopped inverting as a tactical change and Spurs won the second half). The Melbourne Victory days where Spurs played 4-4-2/4-6-0 of two false nine which he used against Man City and Sheffield United at the end of the season. He even used 3 at a back reminiscent of the Socceroos 3-2-4-1 a few times in the first season. I thought he would embed his primary system in the first season and become flexible in the second season. The sad thing is if Ange just used his old system early on in his career of stopping inverting the full-backs and not having the same high line (I do not remember his Brisbane Roar playing that degree of high line, Vince Rugari who wrote the Angeball book also confirm this in the podcast with The Fighting Cock) or used his 3-2-4-1 system which is similar to how Man City attack with 3-2-5 which would still be attacking but allow more defensive control he would probably perform better with this depleted squad. I do wonder what the cause of is this stubbornness. I speculate (please I don’t know Ange so this is pure guesswork) whether all the time in the press conference about doing things unique or his way may be the cause of this. Despite his success early in his career, one of the things that has been commented on that he gets defensive over was that he was just copying a more successful manager. In Brisbane Roar the side became “Roarcelona” hence copying Pep Guardiola. The strikerless system was very much compared to Roma’s Luciano Spalletti side. The 3-2-4-1 system was widely considered a more attacking (perhaps suicidally as he never had success with this formation) adaptation of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side (I laugh when Stel called the Spurs 4-0 victory over Manchester City as Conte-Ball as it is almost certain that Ange has studied his Chelsea’s side in detail). However his two inverted full-backs with both of them playing in the number 10 system which although inspired by Guardiola's inverted full-back, seems to be 100% unique usage of full-backs that Ange can claim to be purely invented by him as no other side uses full backs the same way he does. He finally developed a unique system that you can’t simply say he is a copycat of another manager and he had success with that with Yokohama Marinos and Celtic FC and it seems he is banking his entire legacy on this. During the Christmas stream, a lot of the panellists asked why he was so stubborn regarding attacking football. While I can only speculate why Ange isn’t changing the system because he has done this throughout his career but I can give you a conclusive answer why he doesn’t compromise on his attacking philosophy regardless of what system he plays. Ange could theoretically change his system as he has done this in the past but he will never be pragmatic and set up his side to be defensive. He detailed his reason in his autobiography that essentially this is due to his father. His father was an emotionally distant parent but the only time they bonded was due to football and his father loved attacking football. Ange wrote he always asked himself when he was devising his system whether his father would have enjoyed watching his team play and he based his entire coaching career on that question. I suspect his father's death would have entrenched this even further. Quite frankly unless he sees a psychologist to overcome attachment issues with his dad, he will never become a pragmatic” manager. The one thing I will defend Ange on is this criticism of him being a “Yes Man” and his responsibility for squad building (Maz was particularly harsh regarding this). I view the Ange Press conference as a mixture of three things. What Ange wants? The Club line (that may be contractually obligated for him to keep his job) and The Truth. People focus a lot on Ange saying he is being backed, the decision is all his and also pointing out his contradictions. The contradictions that are often criticised in the streams are actually the most interesting aspect of his press conference as the truth lies in the contradictions. I think he did the best in towing the club line while calling out the club. For example - What Ange wants is to challenge the league and he wants experienced players as he said quite recently, the club line is that he is happy with all the transfer of teenagers and the truth is he is forced to work in a youth “3-5 year cycle” against his will despite never staying in the club that long due to the club transfer policy. Regarding transfer, Ange warned us he was Levied during his opening unbeaten 10 games. He was asked whether his early success would help him in the transfer window. Ange said in response that it could work the other way around and that his early success could be used as evidence that it doesn’t need improving. This was quite a bizarre comment at the time which only made sense in hindsight. The interpretation of this is that Levy told Ange that his early success shows that the squad didn’t need improving and he is not going to get help in the transfer window. When he signed Solanke, despite Ange talking about the decision being his he took responsibility for all the transfer. Ange informed the public what that entails. He said his role in the transfer is simple, he just says yes or no. Essentially Ange has no says over the transfer target and he just has to say yes or no to the option that is given to him and this is simply the best that was given to him. We do know that Levy has cheaped out on transfer because Ange told us in the first press conference with Werner, despite being heavily criticised for signing Werner twice he told everyone that the club can’t afford to purchase a player who is scoring goals and in form and hence he had to settle for Timo Werner. It was very clear that Ange didn’t rate the player in the very first press conference. Him exploding at Timo for poor performance publicly is likely frustration relying on a player he doesn’t rate. I suspect that Levy hooked Ange to join the club saying this time he will be backed, unlike the previous manager. Gave him Van Der Ven, Vicario and Maddison which gave him the impression things will be different this time. Then the club pulled the rug under him after the first 10 games and told him that the unbeaten run was evidence that the club didn’t need significant strengthening. It has been documented in The Athletics that Ange was quite involved in the transfer in the first season and took a backseat when Lange came in. I do speculate whether this tactical inflexibility is some sort of brinkmanship with Levy and the club with him telling the club he is not going to change and be flexible so they can either sack him or get him the players he needs to make the system work.
Solid contribution phantom and deep insight. I still mean to get around to replying to your reply to me on another discussion we got into the other week. Will have to dig it up
The fact this guy is our worst manager in the Levy era and people are still backing him is insane Where was this support for Nuno? Jose or conte? What on earth has this manager done for fans to protect him so much
Great insight lads. Ye ange is the clear problem. We have great players that play well for their countries because they play in their preferred positions. Ange is stretching them all over the pitch to fit HIS philosophy. Bird brain! Arrogant.
Im sick of seeing our entire back line sprinting back to defence every 60secs. Schoolboys dont play this stooooopid. ANGE OUT. NOW. TONITE. Hes killing us
Your Squad is NO WHERE NEAR A TOP - 4 Side Player too player. Your Squad is an 8 too 10 place team. Bang Average JOE'S Middle of The Road Mediocrity!!!!!!!!!
Sava talking nonsense. If it gets so toxic the media pick up on it . Sponsorships start decreasing. The money starts decreasing. The share price falls the value of the club decreases. They sell up.
Since joining the club Levy has given Ange over €400m to spend, we currently sit 11th with a 50% lose ratio The guy's methods are just laughable, he's one & only outlook is we'll score more than our opponents ... which is blatantly obvious, doesn't always guarantee you 3pts
Ian is in denial. We have a coach that dont coach, wont change and hes a total idiot. We aint playing Ross County every week. Worst manager ive EVER seen. 50 years watching spurs. Hes turned us into soft shit. Insane schoolboy tactics.
I like Sava and usually agree with most things he says. But everything every movement starts from somewhere. When the suffragettes started I’m sure there were people thought that these women should quit cause women will never vote. It might take ten years to get Levy out but the process has to start at some point.
not kidding LOL. Savva says one of the reason Ange's tactics are the worst is because Maddison becomes the scapegoat when the team does bad. so any tactics that makes Madders looks bad is worst. forget overall team, only Maddison matters. Not joking, listen to Savva's own words in full context here 01:35:10 LOL...
What’s all these shots at a kid. Dont be like Robayers. Something he and some need to follow “challenge the argument not the person”Notice how he had to rename himself Stel. Wonder why

Is it like Robayers an underlining prejudice at work.
Wish the panel would stop discussing around arguments made by Ian. Ian knows his opinions are total bxllsxt but keeps insisting simply because he doesn't want to look silly. waste of time to debate Ian.
Richard talking nonsense as per usual… if we had another manager it would make us 5% better tactically… the biggest problem is jointly the players are awful and the tactics are awful. Which thfc player would get in any current top 6 team? None can hold or pass a simple ball forget talking in possession movement which is non existent. Our club is rotten to the core

Fantastic debate and nailed all the issues around our team. Gutless performance at City Ground. Ange out!

Xenophobia since Ange is Australian which pretty much makes him English.

Ian asking where's the 6?? The tactics mean there is no one occupying that position!! That's the point. They guy is seriously delusional..
Why has Sav been Levy out for so long?
How many English players have Liverpool?
He will never manage in premier League again
Could be worse utd fan 😂
Spurs have mostly dead players but they would be 5th or 6th with a good manager
5th, 6th who cares it's still failure.
60 years here all talk this club no action bought English instead of Spanish an Europe win nothing with English players look at England
@chefin2000 you're telling us something we knew months ago. Or is your post an attempt at satire !

I'm not a Spurs fan but on 20:00 Ian is correct and Savva is wrong although the latter will never admit it.
You think Savva should lie? Savva was 100% right you have to be clueless to say otherwise.
