    Best vid I've ever seen on how to operate all these buttons. Just bought an almost new 427 convertible and hate trying to sort all this out by spending 12 long evenings reading thru the owners manual. thanks very much my friend for posting this up.

      The car is daunting for the new owner. I spent many hours just trying to figure out the basics, and there's so many hidden functions & features it's almost bizarre. That's just for the base model. I have a 3LT with NAV, voice control, and all the extra optional features I've had to figure out. The manual is good, but not great, and it's horrid when it comes to the NAV. I can't imagine some busy executive buying the car & then spending the time necessary to learn the functions, especially considering how unintuitive many of them are.

      @@salvadormonella8953 Couldn't agree more and well said. I thought the worst flood of electronics ever thrown at a conventional vehicle was all the BS factory installed on my 2017 BMW R1200RT touring bike. Then I bought my 427 convertible and that made the BMW look like childs' play.

    The Corvette's HUD makes it the inspiration for a new Knight Rider TV series wherein the C6 Corvette replaces the Trans-Am as KITT's new body.
    When the operator changes the speedometer from British to metric, the measurement initial changes position from above the two crossed flags which symbolize GM's motorsport origins to the left.

    A thousand thanks. Still relevant as I just got my 2012 grand sport last month and got the instruments and display all turned around. That's just me. Despite the manual I somehow got German and kilometers and was struck with it for 2 days before I ham-fisted my way back to English and mph. You've shown me a lot of features I would have never found. Thank you so much. I can now bond with my baby much easier.

    • @harddrive6972
      @harddrive6972  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not all come with a HUD. It was an option that came with any package higher that 1LT. You can "shut it off" by turning the brightness all the way down with the side controls, so if you know your car has it installed, hold down the + brightness button on the left control pod.

      @harddrive6972  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HUD is an option, but most of them have them. If it isn't installed, you can buy it and put it in afterward. However, I've done about every modification out there to mine, I recommend finding one with it already installed. Even if it's a little more expensive, its money well spent. The install is a pain! If you find one that is at least a 2LT. It will have the HUD

      Eliteage 08 is definitely good. first LS3 year! if it's under a cover it should be fine. people for some reason act like these are super fragile. the paint they used for these is fantastic and very durable. Just be sure to keep it covered!

  • @Reloader449
    @Reloader449 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is a HEAD UP DISPLAY. The term "heads up" is used in sports and other places. If you are going to also talk about the HUD in a C7 Corvette, at least get this part right. Using the incorrect term makes everyone who does it seem inept. You may have noticed that the HUD works FOR ONLY ONE HEAD. Only ONE PERSON can see it. It is called "Head Up" because looking at the other instrument indications is "Head Down" looking into the car, and not the road. This comes from flight operations in military aircraft where, as in a racing car, bad things can happen so fast, you need to keep your head up and your eyes "outside" as much as possible. Just trying to help. :)

    • @harddrive6972
      @harddrive6972  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lorn hmm..if it was sudden like that I would think the connector is the problem. replace the fuse anyways just to be safe. check both the under hood fusebox and the cabin fusebox

    • @StingrayLS7
      @StingrayLS7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your response I will check both fuse locations. Car starts no problem even turn the turn signals on flashing on car but not on the idicater in the cluster I will put a new battery in as well and see if I can find the connectors as well and maybe clean them ....thanks

    • @harddrive6972
      @harddrive6972  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem. The battery sounds okay. I don't think it's the source of the problem. If it stopped suddenly, then I would definitely assume the connector, fuse, or a wire is the problem. While you're looking, follow the wires and see if one got torn or exposed.

    • @StingrayLS7
      @StingrayLS7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks I will see if I can follow the wires with out removing the cluster at this time ...

    Head up display, not heads.

  • @salvadormonella8953
    @salvadormonella8953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hopefully I'm not raising the dead by commenting/asking. Transmission fluid temperature? Is this for an automatic transmission? Isn't your tire pressure a tad low? The honking if you leave your fob in the car is an OPTIONAL setting, it is not a "feature" that's always on. HUD---I don't know why this is sought after. I have it. It's gimmicky. I've got nice analog gauges right in front of me, why do I need a Halloween-green glow of the same info? I'm still getting used to the NAV. It is NOT intuitive to use, and it's slow. There is more to the dash display than you let on. That is NOT "all there is to it." You didn't cover the other HUD display options ( the multiple street vs. track displays) nor the customization possible for the HUD. You didn't cover other DIC display functions, nor hardly broach the topic of any DIC customization, nor did you cover other car settings managed from the DIC, like all the interior & exterior lighting options for entry & exit of the vehicle. Also, you said nothing about how the display is customizable per fob/driver. You also didn't cover any of the warning & notification lights in the dash display along with corresponding DIC messages.

      @timyarbrough6356 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was highlighting the basics. Is that all you have to bitch about?? He gave enough information for someone new to familiarize themself with the panel cluster. Half of what you said didn't make any sense either. Get a life.

  • @Ltngdrvr
    @Ltngdrvr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Everyone wants to call it a "HEADS" up display, does everyone have more than one head that they view the display with??? 🤨HEAD UP DISPLAY, because you keep your head up to view it, so you aren't looking down at the dash to see the relevant info needed for proper operation of the car.

    • @timyarbrough6356
      @timyarbrough6356 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you not splitting hairs a little bit?? 99% of people refer to it as Heads Up Display. Is that all you have to bitch about??
