yes social security and medicare, but why do we never talk about the US Defense spending (both explicitly stated and hidden) and US Foreign policy? You cannot address it without focusing on that AS WELL
This world is a relatively-safe place (at least for Americans), due in large part to our military (and thus defense spending). Our spending is shown to be 3.45% of GDP (although the actual spending amount is rising quickly). How much cutting is needed, and what example of cuts with yet maintained safety/American interests would be shown as successful? Hopefully no one would point to the Afghanistan pullout.
