Don’t forget that knitting probably gives you much more than just garments. There’s a therapeutic calming element to it and that is why we’re all so drawn to it!
The rose pink wrap sweater would look amazing with any floral dress. Especially the skater style floral dresses. That would eliminate your too short sweater problem.
Thank you so much! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this hobby and guess I decided to spend all my free time doing it! Thank you for watching this video!
I think I saw aka Nora knits have the same issue with drops brushed alpaca silk feeling different across colors when she was knitting her Christmas dress. A phenomenon for sure!
Loved this video! So much inspiration and great insights on patterns and yarns! Assuming the 2024 version will come out soon, can I suggest something? I love when the pattern and yarn used are written on the screen, so if that’s something I’d like to make I can take a screenshot and all the info I need is there 🙂
Thank you so much for watching! I love those too!! I am actually knitting another pair of colorwork socks now :) they're such small pieces but so joyful to knit and wear!
OMG Yiqi I resonated with your last few minutes so much...the knitting obsession hits hard and I'm just now being like "Maybe I don't need to spend all of my free hours trying to crank through projects...?!" 😆 that being said, I'm always so inspired by your makes and I'm so happy you share them with us! Your taste and creativity are so awesome.
Hi Chelsea! Well I am absolutely always inspired by your taste from yarns to patterns so that is extremely nice of you to say, tysm ❤️🥺For sure, rounding up all the knits I've made definitely had me questioning where I even found the time?!?
I am in total amazement at the number of FO's you have finished. The Lumme Sweater was a lovely start to this episode as the colorwork stands out in high contrast and I like the main color a lot. Your Ingrid Sweater, I really doubt ppl can tell, even other knitters, that the sleeves aren't exact twins. The simple texture patterns are great. I love your Levitate Wrap; it's beautiful, especially the color. The greens of your Cumulus Blouse are awesome; I am always drawn to greens. You have one heck of a lucky partner; the Seaway Pullover fits him very well; he better be saving up for that future rock.
Thank you so much! ♥️ It has been fun to try different patterns and styles and experiment over time - definitely not everything worked out but I did end up with some things that I really liked! Hahahah I will have to pass along the message to him 😂😂😂
I love your knits! I've knit sweater #9 twice. Once for me and one for my daughter. I think for the structure of it, wool will be much better than cotton. I love the sweater! Never made two on anything. ❤ beautiful knits!
@tangerineknits I actually made her a white one and mine was a dusty pink, but I want a white one too. It's such a classic sweater and goes with everything! I think I will make another one for next winter.
Loved all your knits. They look very professional. You look good in all of them but you look stunning in the dress. Don't be so hard on yourself. From Bernadette
This was a great video! I liked all the information you provided about the wearability of your knits over the year . Two thoughts- could you wear the levitate wrap over any dresses? It may be too short to comfortably wear over pants and a top but could be soo cute, especially in the pink color, over a long dress. My other thought is that maybe you’d enjoy summer garments with more positive ease! They’re definitely not made for the hottest days of the year but I find that my linen-alpaca-silk cami no. 4 with positive ease is so comfortable and flows in the summer and allows the gauge to be more like a winter sweater as far as having some wiggle room in the exact stitch count.
Thank you so much! Oooh that is an excellent point, the short length would be great for a dress! I have a white dress that I should try it with, thanks for the suggestion :) And that's a good idea to try positive ease summer garments! I think I'll look for positive ease options to use up the summery yarns I still have in my stash, I do think I will enjoy that more!
I wanted to mention that sometimes women wear a beautiful shell/camisole under a suit jacket in cooler weather. I wonder that you might be able to also wear the twisted loop with a long evening skirt or wide leg trousers? Just a thought 💭 ☺️
OMG! I have only been knitting for a year and a half too. The Sari Nordlund sweater is in my queue too. I am glad that you had a good experience. I love that sweater!
Oh that's super cool! Yesss it's such a nice sweater and such a great pattern too! I love seeing all the versions people have knitted up in different colors, I hope you enjoy knitting it as well!
I was nodding fiercely at the ending part! I focused so much on making a lot of projects in the past year and now I have (more than) enough to wear. Going forward, I’m considering knitting more fingering weight or complicated patterns and not worrying about finishing a large quantity of projects. I’d like to be more mindful about how and what I knit. By the way, where is your pivot table summary 😝? I’ve been waiting for it!
Ah yes totally agree! I am basically out of space in my dresser and there's not really much more space to store knits anywhere haha, slowing down with finger gauge or more complex patterns is definitely interesting to me as well! I feel like you already do knit so many intricate patterns and I am excited to see what else you come up with! HAHA maybe I really should have made some graphs and presented the results 😂 I'll give you the topline report though! My most knitted garment type is sweaters, my highest rated (according to me) projects were cold weather / transitional as opposed to warm weather, my most knitted colors are red, brown, and green. About 15% of my projects were MFT knitwear or petite knit respectively , with the remaining 70% being other designers!
Really loved this video! So many gorgeous knits and I love your colour choices, we have similar colouring so very inspiring! You have to wear that beautiful Camisole No. 5 dress - it looks so good on you!
Aw thank you so much! It's the Casia Square Neck and I do really like the design, square necks + puff shoulders are *chef's kiss* I'm not even that mad that I ran out of yarn to make any sleeves haha!
How wonderful! I was chain watching your podcasts this weekend. I love watching your videos. So cute seeing you wear your same sweater in your first podcast as you are wearing for your first year of knits video. I admire you sharing your mistakes as well as your victories. Thank you for another very enjoyable watch. Happy New year.
Aw thank you, I am honored! I did realize that I was wearing the same thing as my first podcast, it's kind of a full circle moment :) Thanks again for watching and happy new year to you as well!
I love the dress on you. The color is gorgeous. What if you made it longer like midi length? That little red scarf would look cute tied to a bag like a purse scarf but says I'm a knitter in a subtle way
Aw thank you! The color is really nice. I considered lengthening it, but am still trying to decide if I like the top half enough to keep knitting 😂 Oh that would definitely look cute as a purse scarf, that's a great idea!
Both cotton and alpaca don’t have memory or structure so it’s not surprising your sweater no 9 is a bit floppy. Wool would be a better choice. Beautiful knits! Congratulations 🎉
That's so true! I was hoping for a transitional sweater but just didn't like my yarn choice in the end for this pattern since it wasn't designed for it!
When I bought yarn in different colors and they felt different, I noticed on the labels that they were dyed in different countries. Not sure if that's why in your case just something I hadn't thought of until I experienced it.
Oh that's interesting! I've already thrown away all my labels so unfortunately I can't check, but that makes sense that sometimes they have to get different production facilities to make different colors
@@tangerineknits It's tricky when ordering online, not all of the colors say where it was dyed on websites. I am motivated to try a garment after seeing your knits and hearing your honest feedback.
No way, I made the EXACT same mistake with my Ingrid! Only actually noticed while I was blocking it. It definitely bothers me, but it’s certainly not a huge deal 😅
woah that's crazy! I think I remember being confused due to the way the pattern said to count the stitches for where to turn, and thought I was going crazy when I couldn't get the second sleeve to match. Agreed that in the end it's not a bit deal haha 😅
Hi! Actually I talked about 34 different patterns I knitted, and 4 of these (less than 12%) are Petite Knit patterns :) That said, I do actually really enjoy the Petite Knit patterns I have knitted (and will probably knit more). I hope you can find the knitting content that interest you / talk about the patterns and designers that you gravitate towards!

Yess absolutely, the therapeutic effects are so amazing! It's such a meditative hobby
The rose pink wrap sweater would look amazing with any floral dress. Especially the skater style floral dresses. That would eliminate your too short sweater problem.
Hello! Oooh that's a great idea! I have been wanting to get a floral dress, this is a great reason to finally get one 😊🌸 Thank you for the suggestion!
Your camisole dress actually looks fabulous on you.
Aw thank you!
Wow. So Beautiful.
Thank you so much :)
@@tangerineknits You're welcome. :). I feel so lazy but inspired at the same time.
Idea for your laulu shawl, maybe wear it as a headband, a kerchief version kind of thingy
Thanks for the suggestion! I just put it on like that to try it out and it's actually pretty cute! Thanks for unlocking this for me haha
@@tangerineknits i know that the podcaster (somehow I forgot her name) of high fiber knits has a few of those, and it reminded me of those size wise!

This is my absolute favourite knitting podcast - always the first one I hope for an update from!
Hi Lucy! Aw that is so so kind of you to say, thank you! I hope to film another video soon!!
the Laulu Scarf would make a beautiful head scarf/bandana if that's at all your style! The color really suits you!
Thank you! Yeah that's a great idea! I'm not typically a head scarf wearer but I have to say, I tried it out and it's actually really cute!
