I started to practice card and coin tricks around 2008, never practiced enough and then faded only picking up a deck of cards rarely until 2012 when I was hurt and lost use of my right hand/arm. Over the course of 6-7 years I couldn't do anything with my right hand including my favorite things - playing guitar, gaming with a controller, working out, etc. and certainly not magic. After years of rehabilitation and the subsequent nervous system disorder I developed went into remission, I'm finally able to use my right hand. I've realized that regaining dexterity in both hands can be done with card flourishes and tricks. I have learned more from Chris Ramsay in 2 days than I ever did in the 4 years I tried to learn before getting hurt. Amazing. And for you small handed people, first of all, don't give up. All of these flourishes and tricks are possible with small hands. Secondly, if you're still frustrated, invest in only bridge sized decks. That will help. Either way, thank you, Chris Ramsay!! You are my personal physical therapist.
I'm loving your tutorials, Chris! I've been doing magic for a few years, but now I'm getting more interested in cardistry - LOVE your stuff, man - Thanks!
You Chris are my ultimate reason i do magic and the fact to be a chilled and prepared.. I have been doing magic a year and a half now and have been watching learning from you. Please do not fade away... You make your future and do not need to listen and realise rude comments.....Your style of magic is perfect to me and make doing magic for me just the funnest thing in the world. Thank you bud!
+Chris Ramsay Hey Chris! Awesome video! I love the song which is playing during the tutorial. Where cand I find it or even purchase it? If it is made by you, cold you please upload it somewhere where we could buy it from? Thank you and keep up the good work! :)
Impressive! Love that little flourish, thanks for sharing :) This is probably the first flourish I was able to do first try without dropping any cards :D
love the video. your beginner videos have really helped me along since ive started and when I get frustrated I come across something simple like thisand it keeps me going.
I'm a complete beginner, I've been watching some of your tutorials today and have been enjoying learning from you. the tutorials are really clear, explanation, demonstration and even the production of the videos is really great! I had surgery a little while ago and have to spend a couple of weeks horrizontal, so I'm gonna absolutely blast this stuff! thanks again!
When he mentioned the proper name of the prerequisite I had a slight moment of panic. Then when he did it, I was like, "OOOHHHH. Yeah, I know that one." I learned it elsewhere and never heard it called that before. Being that Chris is the professional cardist, I will trust he knows the name of it better than I, I've just seen it refered to as simple things like "One handed drop cut," "One handed TP Cut," and a few more relating to the triangular shape just before the cut is complete.
Ricky Jay, on the most important thing he learned from Charlie Miller: not just to practice, but "to consciously try to do the trick better each time you do it". (Good advice for life, as well as cards.)
Real nice Chris, thanks for that! As for your next tutorial, a card flick sounds good. Although I wouldn't mind getting a flourish tutorial afterwards.
Hey Chris! Great content on your channel. I enjoy your humor lol can you make a video explaining what cards should be included in a deck? Maybe the different types of decks made and their different purposes. I've searched TH-cam and can't find the answer. Thanks!
Hey man strangely I came across you looking for the magicians season 3 trailer haha. Anyway I'm addicted to flourishing and this was the first one I've learned but I got it down and there's no stopping... So thanks man for introducing me to something I now love.
A good way to make it look fancier is to use a revolution cut instead of charlier and in the other hand, before putting it back, do a one handed fan. Makes it spicy and not that much more complicated. :))
Okay so at first I hated this trick. Just because I couldn’t do the card slide around my finger. But one day I got bored and just practiced the finger slide and now it’s muscle memory for me to do this trick if I’m not thinking about what to do and it’s to cool. It’s weird because it’s so simple but when it flows it looks so nice so now it’s one of my favorite cuts.
if you do decide to make another tutorial then id prefer a cardistry move that can be used in combos to a flourish or card flick. :) it makes you more creative
I like to start the top cut when it gets over the two fingers then drop part of the deck for the charlie then finish the spin around the middle finger then finish the charlie cut it keeps the cut looking real fluid instead of waiting to the end to do the charlie I guess just start the charlie a little early instead of right at the end makes it look like a lot is going on but their isnt
This was really cool, just starting cardistry!!!
Hi bro
How's it going
Sweet opener for my favorite game. 😐 52 Pickup.

As a card magician I respect a good flourish and think that with a bit of magic added they are a beautiful thing
