  • My brother and I loved our time in the small town of Moalboal on Cebu Island. Beautiful beaches, outstanding scuba diving, great nightlife, tasty food, and the locals were very welcoming. This barber shop is in the heart of the town and just steps from the local market near the sea. The cockfighting pit is around the corner and it gets wild on Sundays. The basketball courts are in the middle of town and stay packed every night. The Filipinos love hoops and we saw that everywhere we went on the island.
With the chance to take long scooter rides to discover different parts of Cebu, enjoy unique water experiences (both in the ocean and the many falls), interacting with monkeys, and hanging out with travelers from around the world, Moalboal is definitely a destination that will continue to grow in popularity but will hold all of the qualities that make it unique. I can’t say enough about the kindness of the Filipino people and how truly cool they are to hang out with.

Most barber shops in Cebu post their rates so they can't ask you more that the posted rates they show. Most flea markets around Cebu also have price tags on their items so you pay for what is posted on the price tags. There are separate rates for foreigners and locals except in few tourist destinations in Cebu where foreigners pay more than locals like in Oslob whale sharks watching. Most other tourist attractions have one rate for all. But in Thailand, all tourist attractions that we went to always have different rates (more expensive) for foreigners.

Thank you for this insight. I know the barbers deserve every dollar they get so I never complain. These barbers were outstanding!

Really lol? Not all barbers here in Cebu are doing that.. We charge what we charge. Even if it either a foreigner or not . We a have a poor life here so sometimes we barber are hoping foreigner clients will give us a "tip" .
