  • DeWalt DCS391 6 1/2 inch Circular Saw Review.
    A complete over view of this cordless circular saw. My thoughts on the build and a comparison to my Skill worm drive circular saw. If you have ever wondered if or why you should get yourself a cordless circular saw hopefully i can answer a few questions for you. My reasons it will come in very handy for certain jobs and no worries of the cord getting the way. Much lighter, 3 plus pounds lighter.

    Thanks for the review. The rip fence you listed does not fit the DCS391, according to the description and Q&A on Amazon. It appears that these are the 3 items that are needed. Fence #381091-00, Spring #58287-00 and Knob #396992-02.

      Dave Schreiner Thank you so much for the info I just haven’t had a chance to look into it but that seems a little sucky all that for a simple rip fence. Looks like that’s a thumbs down on Dewalt not making it more simplified. But good to know I appreciate that information and thank you for viewing

    I have the same saw I've used it on job sites and it bounces around in the back of my truck for 3 years now and the allen wrench is still attached to it, I had the same worry about it falling off but so far I've had good luck with it

      And the plastic blade guard hasn't broken? Must be tough plastic.

    Good review, I use this saw and battery kit whenever I need cuts. I like my Kobalt corded 7-1/4" a lot because of the higher RPM and LED light but, hauling around an extension cord and dealing with an 11lbs saw is tiring.
    The cordless we use is just so much better for moving about and it's pretty slick on making joints too. I just do multiple cuts after adjusting the blade height and use my speed square like a chisel. I need a chisel lol.

      thank you. I have to say I use this more and more. My corded Skill saw is collecting dust lately. so easy to grab this and cut. Take a moment and go buy a chisel your speed square will thank you. LOL thanks for viewing.

      you are welcome. I'm honored to help just a little FIY the rip guide doesnt fit as i origanilly thought. it turns out you have to buy 3 items Fence #381091-00, Spring #58287-00 and Knob #396992-02.the only thumbs down on this saw. Thanks for viewing

    The 7.5 inch version has the angled markings and detents in the 0, 22.5, and 45 degree marks that you wish this one had. I guess they think the contractors will have the bigger saw and need those.

      Thank you but unfortunately the rip fence isn't what I thought. A viewer found out it actually take 3 different items to configure it. His comment is as follows, "according to the description and Q&A on Amazon. It appears that these are the 3 items that are needed. Fence #381091-00, Spring #58287-00 and Knob #396992-02." I was not aware it too 3 different parts to complete a rip fence for this saw. Luckily for me I never use them. I make my own track type saw guide to use when I need to have a more accurate cut.

    i ran mine with the 18V 1.3Ah Battery - there is no power in the cut and it is empty after a few minutes. Is that better with new batteries (20V or even 54V)?

    • @TheShackHome
      @TheShackHome  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Martin W you definitely need a 20V 5ah battery or more to optimize this circular saw. Anything less will do just what you’re having issues with, no power and runs out quickly. I think even in the directions it calls for a 5 ah battery

      its really personal preference. I wanted something lighter and compact but yet still able to tackle my needs. This fit that for me. I have my corded Skill saws (7-1/4") for the big jobs that are more demanding, this fills the need for the rest.

    I have the same saw. when I brought mine it came with the rip fence, but I brought the saw only, yours may be because it was part of a deal they were not in the box ( they got to cut costs some ware lol )

      dusty fog you may be right but this was a bare bones tool only. you may of had an upgraded kit but it stinks they don't have an guide for this. One of the viewers found you have to but 3 items for it to work. the guide i had noted doesn't work. Bad DeWalt. Thanks for the info and thanks for viewing
