Ace Combat does also have its fair share of Fantasy planes. Most notably the CFA44 Nosferatu, the X02 Wyvern, the ADFX-01 Morgan and the ADF-01 Falken.
My guess would be during this time Osea doesn't really have a Fictional Super Plane. The ADF-01 according to gameplay are in pieces yet to be assemble. Oh! And fun fact. An earlier flight sim (1999) basically had the SOLG fight in it before the SOLG was even a thing. I swear this is true. Airforce Delta on the Dreamcast. Mission 14. Look it up. The satellite even looks nearly identical to the SOLG! As I'm going on about Airforce Delta, that series is fucking _weird._ The first game is relatively straight laced (And a kind of blatant rip off of Ace Combat 2... Though it's still fun in its own right). The second game (Called Airforce Delta Storm, on the Xbox... Yes, really) was a bit weirder, with a lot of weird playable planes. Airforce Delta Strike (the third game, PS2) could most accurately be described as Ace Combat's demented younger brother. The very first level has you shooting down gigantic flying UFO space bombers, and the plot eventually becomes _Aliens were behind the war!_ It's absolutely fucking insane and I kind of adore it despite some of its... Flaws. Did I mention this series was made by Konami? Back when you could say their name without a "Fuc" in the beginning of it, mind you. And yes, a Japanese developer made a game for the fucking _Xbox._
I always likes using the MiG31 for this. It can target four aircraft at once and the little bit of dogfighting at about 4:00 can be done with two salvos in ten seconds. The big mig is broken in this game though, at top speed its faster than the missiles. In the Ghosts of Razgriz mission you dont have to use the canyons you can just orbit at full burner and snipe the garbage.
They're called glove vanes. They provide additional stability at supersonic speeds, deploying at over Mach 1.4. With them, the F-14A could pull 7.5 g at Mach 2. They were later disabled, and removed from the B and D models, due to their mechanical complexity, and avionics upgrades eliminated their need anyway.
I have a setup guide here: th-cam.com/video/fv_zb9NLjEY/w-d-xo.html It's a bit outdated, but still valid. The main change is: if you have an nVidia card, use the OpenGL renderer instead of D3D11.
I just want to say on my own computer I thought this was an emulation glitch. I'm very pleasantly surprised to just find out it's actually not a glitch but incredible attention to detail
Curious, is there any extra dialogue if you destroy Grabacr/Ofnir earlier? I think I've only gotten up to Snow and Grimm talking about his brother coming home from Yuktobania. I also kinda do like how Ofnir and Grabcr are contextualized as more annoyances than a Pixy style rival here; they sort of play the same role as the Megalith Yellows. Soooo... ACAH PC next? I mean you never did it on the stream; and I'd be curious of your analysis of it like you did in the descriptions here.
Megalith Yellows are a far more enjoyable addition to their mission, though: "annoyance" is the right word here. And nah, it'd offer nothing unique. I can't even used the DLC aircraft you get with the enhanced edition in campaign mode. I'd have more than enough to say about it, just not enough in the way of interesting video content to go along with it. If I could at least still pull off world records like I did on XBL (I think I still have the one for Blue on Blue), that'd be more than unique enough, but as silly as that might sound, I've lost my DFM skills, lol.
You could try a 'use DFM as little as possible' run to show how fundamentally broken and unfun the gameplay mechanics are when you strip out CRA. (And shows how impressive ACI was in somehow making ACI's engine fun to play even with its spine ripped out)
I guess to me, looking forward to AC7, and as bad as I do think ACAH is, I think it's an 'important' game in the evolution of the series and I think one Kono has to wrestle with in order to learn from its mistakes.
I'd need the Homing Missiles skill for it to be bearable, and that'd take eons to unlock again. Wasn't too bad with it, though - 6AAMing from miles away with that skill was an effective strategy in MP, I had to develop some tactics to avoid while engaged.
I do think it's something that hasn't been really shown before, though: Even if you try to minimize CRA usage, such that you can, it only serves to show how bad the planes feel to fly and how horseshit the missile and gun mechanics are. It shows that it wasn't merely the inclusion of CRA that was the problem but the whole-scale abandonment of caring about the actual act of, you know, flying a plane.
I remember I've done this mission in Ace difficulty on the Falken, it's ridiculous how easy it is using the TLS. I destroyed the SOLG in just a few seconds. That laser makes things look ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣
And AC5 comes to an end... With more AI "flying through the terrain" shenanigans. At least Grabofnir put up more of a fight than they do in their respective missions. Also, Replicator. What the fuck? He doesn't actually attack you (I don't think)... He just flies around haphazardly. I actually managed to destroy all five "targets" of the SOLG before. And it counted in the score. So that was neat! So. AC5. "Neat concept, flawed execution - The Game". Definitely a mixed bag. I still have a soft spot for this game, but... I'm not afraid to point out the flaws. And flaws it has. Plenty of.
I never made it through the back half of the game, but I guess there's no working airstrips left in Oured? Were they destroyed during the events of Supercircus? 🤔
Hello! If you ever read this, I want to ask if you're familiar with the channel Gracemeria? it was a really old channel that upload AC5 walkthroughs. Sadly, I can't see his channel anymore as look it up on youtube. This dude was REALLY REALLY good no cap.

*sigh* ... after playing alot of AC7 i had to re-visit the nostalgia, seeing your playlist of AC5 once again, and... after seeing this, comparing what PA was able to do with the other tittles... i can see that AC5 probabbly was their most ambitious game, but they end up bitting more than what they could chew, which it's a lesson that they learned, in AC Zero, the story feels more impactfull and complete with not much flaws in the end. If i would have to improve this mission, i would split both Grabarc and Ofnir in two parts, been Ofnir the one who attacks Razgriz first nearby Oured, they could be leading a squadron of Grey Men forces, while their S-32s are using the same ECM type as the ones from Mimic Squadron, once they are shot down, the SOLG stage begins, which it will be the same SOLG from AC Infinity, this time, Grabarc shows up from behind with his squadron, as he is trying to shoot you down while you are taking out SOLG giving a tought fight for any experience gamer. Let's pray to Kono and the Bandai Namcon executives for this to happen someday...

I have never noticed that. The satellite really is just a smaller, faster version of the SOLG.
3:59: >
Belkans, same as Germany 20 years after the first great war
I always likes using the MiG31 for this. It can target four aircraft at once and the little bit of dogfighting at about 4:00 can be done with two salvos in ten seconds.
The big mig is broken in this game though, at top speed its faster than the missiles. In the Ghosts of Razgriz mission you dont have to use the canyons you can just orbit at full burner and snipe the garbage.
10:38
I'll just say this,
EXPLOSION!
Megumin is Belkan, you heard it here first
@@TugaAvenger That Explosion Alone Proofs That The 3 Members Of Wardog Along With Pops Are Innocent All Along.
*Ensign Grimm: Captain!, Lieutenant Nagase: “Blaze!”, Captain Snow: “Blaze.”, Wardog/Razgriiz 1: “Engage the enemy at will!”. Roger: “Archer”Engaging, Roger “Edge” Engaging, Roger “Swordsman” Engaging.*
If you say "No" They just sigh in a very frustrated manner, it's so fucking funny
So they left the dog on Sand Island
Pops still takes care of Kirk (the dog)
Wow, really bringing back memories here!
2:21 when you hit NO, they all go "uuuugggggghhhhhhhh"
XD
And to think, next year is when the records of every Belkan Conflict is supposed to be released. Ace Combat 7 DLC perhaps? Only next year will tell.
What are those little stabilizers that pop out at 2:13?
They're called glove vanes. They provide additional stability at supersonic speeds, deploying at over Mach 1.4. With them, the F-14A could pull 7.5 g at Mach 2. They were later disabled, and removed from the B and D models, due to their mechanical complexity, and avionics upgrades eliminated their need anyway.
TugaAvenger that is so freaking cool holy crap. How did you emulate the game?
I have a setup guide here: th-cam.com/video/fv_zb9NLjEY/w-d-xo.html
It's a bit outdated, but still valid. The main change is: if you have an nVidia card, use the OpenGL renderer instead of D3D11.
I just want to say on my own computer I thought this was an emulation glitch. I'm very pleasantly surprised to just find out it's actually not a glitch but incredible attention to detail
Ace Combat Zero and Ace Combat 5 were the most memorable for me, Pixy is still in my nightmares and SOLG will leave me with memories
I'm still convinced that the kid at the end of the scene before the credits is blaze and nagasei kid.
She definitely had the hots for him this whole time - Even I knew
@@Phoenix_Of_FuryEven the squadron's status as being spirits of Razgriz is more mysterious compared to Nagase's feelings for Blaze.
The F-14As wouldn't be MY choice, but your skills proved me anything is possible.
It's a pretty rough pick for the final missions, yeah. But I just had to go for it for the cinematic value.
Harling never gets the chance to see the public release of the documents regarding razgriz. I wondee if that information will appear in AC8?
Snow is Champ from AC7 (I think)
Don't tell me they left the dog on the island
No They Didn't.
For the credits maybe it would've been possible to replace Blurry with the Jazz Remix of Blue Skies from 5.
I remember I've done this mission in Ace difficulty on the Falken, it's ridiculous how easy it is using the TLS. I destroyed the SOLG in just a few seconds. That laser makes things look ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣
Bruh, everyone is just chatting while blaze is destroying the solg
4:48 Said the one who got QAAMed by a certain demon lord
This is my favorite game
Plenty of.
Their is no other piece of military hardware advanced enough to intercept a falling Satellite then a frickin FIGHTING JET!
I never made it through the back half of the game, but I guess there's no working airstrips left in Oured? Were they destroyed during the events of Supercircus? 🤔
3:24 Tomcat is such a pretty lady, isn't she?
The most beautiful mission in the entire series imo
R.I.H Chopper ❤❤❤
Insert obligatory "absolute cinema" meme gesture.
Can anyone tell me what is the title on the piano piece after the dogfight but before the SOLG was in range?
YOU'RE WELCOME!
I just played this mission on the exact time and date the mission says, who else?
I wonder if the dog was secret angel
Actually, I guess the next logical thing would be Arcade Mode. Probably just do a single playthrough though.
Do arcade mode before you complete your first playthrough if you want to unlock the F-22 early on in the campaign
Why you set them to "cover"? There's no fighters when you attack the SOLG
Hello! If you ever read this, I want to ask if you're familiar with the channel Gracemeria? it was a really old channel that upload AC5 walkthroughs. Sadly, I can't see his channel anymore as look it up on youtube. This dude was REALLY REALLY good no cap.
The name sounds familiar, I do vaguely recall such a channel, but no more than that sadly. Don't think I was ever subscribed.
@@TugaAvenger no thats fine. it's the reason why I got into ace combat, seeing his gameplay and all. now that Ive watched your gameplay, I realize we almost have the same skills! honestly thought i was the one playing in your videos lol
They'll launch begin at dawn.
Damn... didn't get the full dialogue
Anyone have a book for the Belkan War?
Hey, i know its an old video, but could you send your emulator settings?
Still got notifications for everything :)
I have an emulation guide here: th-cam.com/video/H-z4rt3TRGA/w-d-xo.html
I suggest you get the official 1.6 release, though. Some changes since that video but almost all still applies.
@@TugaAvenger nice, thank you

*sigh* ... after playing alot of AC7 i had to re-visit the nostalgia, seeing your playlist of AC5 once again, and... after seeing this, comparing what PA was able to do with the other tittles... i can see that AC5 probabbly was their most ambitious game, but they end up bitting more than what they could chew, which it's a lesson that they learned, in AC Zero, the story feels more impactfull and complete with not much flaws in the end.
Ace Combat Infinity's SOLG was a hundred times better than this...
