    The "background" music should be background, not foreground :)

    would you mind updating the title or description with the Mazda 3 year or model? it was annoying to watch only to have to figure out and realise it's not my model. thanks

    i have had bad experiences changing the stock audio of my ex car (or maybe the speakers was too big for the stock radio), how did the sound changed in the car? it was a notorious difference between the stock speakers and the new ones? i mean, did the bass get stronger? more fidelity?? i have a non-bose mazda 3 GT 2012 and the sound is good, but i want to change the whole car speakers with something like this ! did you install those JBL speakers in the whole car? (i mean if you put four in total, one of these in the the each door)

      José Ignacio Domingo Arruferia When we have done speaker replacements on many cars, we have always kept to the stock diameter to save any complications in putting them back into the door panel.
      Each time we have done this install, the stereo quality has been improved, especially with Harmon's JBL speakers, we installed 4 new speakers and retrofitted new tweeters into the front doors only.
      In terms of sound, its no comparison, the JBL speakers are better than the Bose equivalent due to having larger magnets, we found the bass levels increased and the sound quality overall meaning this is a definite bang for buck system.
      We actually looked at changing to the Bose system before this install but after many hours of research it seemed Bose were just adding there logo to the system to bump up the price, the speakers and sub in the boot were quite bad, and most people on the forums ended up ripping it all out.

      Turbo Autos Do you have the stock non-bose radio? the JBL speakers are affordable to me, but i in my ex-car i've replaced the whole speakers with a rockford fosgate 6,5" components (40W RMS) in the front and a JBL 6,5" (60W RMS) in the rear, and the results were super bad, the bass practically disappeared. I've used good speakers and all, but. What were wrong? maybe the stereo was too little to that speakers? (it was a citroen c4 with a stock unit), now, with the stock radio in the mazda and those JBL it supposed to sound fine? with strong bass and good mid levels?

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      José Ignacio Domingo Arruferia We don't have the stock non-bose stereo, we swapped it out for an Eonon D5151 which has a built in amp. All I could recommend really is to replace the speakers with the JBL, try out the sound levels and if that doesn't suit your needs, add in an external amp :) - I know its not the best option, but unfortunately we cannot comment on this system with the stock stereo. From what we found though the stock speakers in our car (2004) was flat compared to the new speakers we put in :)

    Kinda ironic to write in a comment under audio upgrade video but i think background music is way too loud at some points :) great job! Cheers

      @TurboautosCoUk  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michał Loska The points where the music went up was pretty much only when Richard was mumbling and the information was not important / was repeated in a different part of the video. I did spend a fair bit of time on the audio levels, but in future I will make sure they are generally lower for the entire video so this can't happen again :) [James]

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michał Loska haha, it has been on the list and we are contemplating the installation... Believe it or not, we had a sub ready to fit in the clio, but when we tested it out we found that as I use my boot a lot it wasn't really practical. My music taste is rather bass heavy (lots of stupidly early hour commutes) but thanks for the comment! you may see it in an upcoming episode!

    • @postmaster2211
      @postmaster2211 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turbo Autos tbh, I haven't bumped into a better sounding audio system before. I know it may sound ridiculous but it is true ! :D I also listen to bass heavy music, like house & electro or club music in general and the clio does a great job at delivering clear audio. It's so powerful that it makes the headlights dimm for a second when the bass drops XD. It also makes driving the clio safer as all the people in town can hear me from 2 miles away haha :D. I will send you guys some pics on facebook!. I could record a video of the audio system in action but it's pretty much pointless cuz it won't really represent the actual quality. Feel free to check out my clio's exhaust video on my channel :D.

    Hi. Really great videos. I have a maxda 3 -06 myself. Have ypu ever tried a metra dash kit with brackets for the factory lcd display? I have no clue how those should be mounted..

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Christopher Olstorp Hi, thanks for watching our videos! we never really have tried that kit, for the screen mounts on the new stereo we removed the factory brackets from the original factory stereo and moved them over and with a little persuasion managed to get the screen to fit back!

    heyy i am exactly about to do this .. I have stock non bose radio and stock speakers .. I will first try to change speakers and try it with stock radio.. if it won't help much I might buy a new radio,..
    my question here is; I see you have changed also the radio, but did you change also:
    1) the wiring from radio to speakers (i think there might be now more amps soo, does it handle it well)??
    2) power supply to new radio (with more powerful amp)
    thanks a lot, great vid!

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +igor256 Hi! Sorry for the delay in replying! We used the same wiring harness that you should have, only changes we made was with the connectors as shown and the power supply was also the same but the aftermarket stereo does have a better amp built in compared to stock :)

    Hi guys,
    Can i replace the speaker too with the window up cause my maz has one stuck with crashed electrics, or can i forget about that?
    Ty

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do it without putting the window down, just makes it a little easier - we did the driver's side first and recorded the passenger. Isn't a majorly important step though so you could ignore it :)

    Hello!
    I've got a question.
    Do I need to get different set off speakers for front doors and back doors or they can be the same? I'm not too sure but I think that I'm talking about front/rear speakers.

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most of the bits we have are Phaze (the interchangeable heads and sockets) but the rest tends to be Draper as far as I'm aware :)

    Awesome video guys, I was wondering if you could help me out though? I just bought a new Mazda 3 2015 and it has a 6 speaker system (2 tweeters on dash, 2 front and 2 rear door speakers.) There are no wiring harnesses so I am going to splice the wires like you did. At 6:33 can you tell me what type of connector that is? I cannot find it anywhere! I need that because when I cut the factory harness it splits into 4 wires (2 for the tweeter and 2 for the front door) and I am going to connect my speakers just like you did and I am hoping everything will work out.

    • @TurboautosCoUk

      +Christopher Birmbas Thanks! - No worries at all, the connector is known as "Piggy Back" To help you out I found them on amazon.

      +Jahan Khadim It's okay, we know the music was too loud. Tbh, it was loud at parts to cover up any talking that wasn't part of the install and we should have just deleted the audio! We have rectified it for all episodes since

      The video is 18 months old, we cannot change it. When rendering it shifted the audio levels, hence this result. All the key bits can be heard though :)

    if thos guys new anything about car audio there know 2 not use there stock oem wireing and re wireing all the speakers and with 16 or 12 gauge ofc wireing lol car audio noobs js

    • @TurboautosCoUk
      @TurboautosCoUk  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TechPcGamer All that we set out to do in the video was really to replace the tired speakers that were originally in the car to ones that actually had a good natural note to them. Neither of us have actually kept cars for very long before they have been replaced (hence why you no longer see the MR2 in videos as it has been sold a long time ago). The next cars that will feature in the upcoming series (or two) will be cars kept for a longer period of time and will actually include rewiring for speakers if that mod is done. Thanks for checking out the video though! :)
