Only MR B0TT0M manages to capture the stupendous scale of this project and, in particular, the Tunnel Boring Machines.

Thanks for an excellent video, This is the Box in the ground called a 'Caterpillar shaft' according to the New Civil Engineer info.
It will be an open area to allow trains to switch tracks before going back into the tunnels and will be the starting hole for the tunnel boring machine to start off the 5.5 Km section of the Norholt Tunnel.
The hoops or curved sides help to form stronger walls with less engineering than a traditional box in the ground.

Why can't you see this on google maps? The HS2 works have been going on for some years. In that time Google have updated the aerial photos in my area several times. There's hardly a trace on Google aerial views.

      Google maps isn’t a live view from a satellite….

@@GIOGS More recent J5 improvement works on the M2 are visible (and have been updated so you can see changes). It's like a small scar on the landscape. HS2 would no doubt look like a giant gash through the whole country.

So you're an HS2 employee, Dr. Bottom ;) How else would you be able to get this footage?
No matter, it's all good and keeps us up to speed on where our bilions are going.
It looks like they/you are preparing to bury a TBM in the hope it may, one day, find its way to Euston. It's interesting to note the system of conveyor belts that are helping to make West Londoners' lives more tolerable.
    Music sounds slightly Barry-esque.

@@SIMONC256 LOL. Calm down, dear. You're funny so I like you, Doctor Botty.
Your drone could be carrying orange cornflower powder or stink bombs. Or worse! That's why I'm surprised you are allowed to overfly the HS2 sites.
Anyway, I'm subscribed and this channel has the best real-time footage of what is happening with HS2 in this neck of the woods.
