Uncle Ben, have you ever considered something like an "activity board" up for Kevin? A few cork boards attached to each other and hung over the fence to block his access to the string lights, with different objects glued on to put his head into/explore/bite, etc.? Some different shapes (toilet roll tube, kitchen roll tube, a halved bucket, a plant pot) to interact with and observe, maybe some different textures (cork, stone, crinkled packaging) and some different functions? Like, maybe Kevin could learn to redirect his alpha energy towards filing his beak down on a salt stone or something?
Please note that these are only questions coming out of curiosity - I do not have any experience with rheas, ostriches, or emus :)
Big Ounce was the OG, and noone and nothing could ever replace him, but I think that Garbanzo Beans has picked up the mantle of being head honcho while big is mega chillin' in heaven.
One of the few people I know that genuinely practices "all lives are sacred." Little maggot crawling on him and he goes "he's just a little guy, too." Saves billions of possums each day.
I was so squeamish at that. I could not do Uncle Dad Ben’s job. I am currently at war with the ants in the kitchen. Some moments I’m fine and others just noooooo

The main reason that possum lived is probably because the maggots ate all the dead and dying cells, so when you cleaned the wound it was able to heal super well with healthy cells! They used to flush infected wounds with maggots in the medieval times (and it would work often work), mother nature be crazy sometimes.
It’s actually still pretty common practice with horses iirc. If they have an infected hoof Medical maggots are used to clean it out.

@@ember9361 Leeches are for when you have a finger, toe, or limb cut off and they want to restore circulation after reattachment. The leeches will suck out all the bad and congealing blood. Maggots are for dead and decaying flesh.

I tried that today!! All I did was ruin my vision for an hour & giving myself a headache! Idk y but other than overcast we couldn't see anything different in the sky! I ruined my day for nothing!

It's because the shadows are sharper when the light only comes from one part of the sun. Veritasium explained this in a video last eclipse about 7 years ago
I dunno, for me in NH it messed with my depth perception and was like looking through smoke. It was disorienting and kinda threw off my balance as it was going by.
