I play it real weird but im normally tuned to d standard and too lazy to tune up so i play C 9,11,9,11,9,11,.......,9,11,.......,9 G 9,....,9......,9.....,9,11........,9,11,..11
finally someone teaches the strumming and picking at the same time where most of them focus only on the chord....a much more complete teaching style Kudos to Marty!!!

I picked up my old classic guitar some time ago and learned "Take on me" by A-ha through your lesson and in that period of my life I understood that i wanted to start this journey with the guitar seriously and become a guitarist. Now i finally have an electric guitar and I'm studying as hard as I can to become better every day. If i ever become famous with my guitar you'll be one of the first people i'll thank, such an ispiration, and by the way your videos are still the funniest and the easiest way to learn great songs. Toni Iommi played the opening riff on the 12th fret E-string, because he throught the root on the 6th string produced heavier sound, same with the verse, all chords w/root on 6th.

Easiest one I've learned with you yet Marty, it kinda shows that they wrote it with almost no time because they were not allowed by the record company to name the album "War Pigs" as was intended, because it was dedicated to the Vietnam war and the initial launch of the album was in the U.S.....so they whipped up Paranoid in like an hour or something and made it the album title...awesome lesson, followed it on my brand new shiny Boss Katana MkII!!

I always played the intro by barring the 7th fret with my index, and hammering on with my ring finger, but when it comes to those little licks, I keep my index finger barred on the 7th, pluck the string and hammer on. It's a bit easier, and it sound the same as long as you mute the string before moving to the next one.
Really great video and I learned a lot. But I just found another video that taught me two things. If you play this on the 12th and 14th it's a lot easier, for me personally since my fingers can't move very well yet, and also it places you in the perfect position to do that little tag on fret 12 of string G and B much much easier. And also, for the 8 notes in the beginning, it should go down a note instead of up again. I'm still learning guitar talk obviously. But if you do 12h14 string A | 12h14 string D | 12h14 string A | 12 D | 14 A | it sounds mucch more correct in my opinion.

So in the first riff, I got the power chord down but when you hammer on 7-9 on A then D, I don't lift my index finder off of 7A to 7D, I just keep both strings held down like I'm still playing a power chord (still hammering 7-9) I do it because it's easier for me to play and I can hammer the notes faster and cleaner. Then again I'm play electric without an amp so idk what it would sound like with one. If it's wrong, I don't want to practice bad habits and learn the wrong thing.
