Tennessee would shut SC and Sellers completely down completely this year. It would be similar to what Ole Miss did to them. Any team with an elite dline is SC's kryptonite.
There should be two playoff Divisions the SeC and B 10 in one and ACC B 12 and one more to make it 5 conferences and the winner of those two play in a championship.
All you need to do is look at SC and Bama’s losses before you even get to the tie breaker of a H2H. Look at their SOS, their ranks when they played the teams they lost to’s ranks, and WHEN they lost to them. You are supposed to get better as the season goes on, no one can deny that and be honest with themselves. Carolina has had the better season than Bama.
One thing I would say is go back to past CFP rankings and see how many 3 loss teams would be in each year. Most years its 1-3, normally 2 that are in the top 12 (even after taking into consideration 5 highest conference championships). Last year there would have been none but thats not the norm, without even mentioning the consolidation of conferences that happened. I think its fine to just take 3 loss teams in the high seed and that the ranking critera have definitely changed, im not even an SEC fan either, 3 loss Utah would have made it a couple years ago
Miami > South Carolina > Bama for 12th spot in playoff. Miami barely lost their two losses & one was to ranked Syracuse. Miami could have two ranked wins vs Duke/Louisville soon. That resume is better than 3 loss SC or Bama.
Smh I’m so sick of people just riding on Alabama name and just keep putting them up so high. If they had 4 lose them people will be saying I think they belong in the playoffs
I thought someone was going to mention Georgia Tech. A team that gave Georgia grief this last week. LSU was struggling against Big Ten teams. The SEC wants to be the best conference this year. I wonder if they really are?
I laugh that nobody gives any credit to the strength of the BIG 10 team schedule as a conference from top to bottom….throw Purdue out. The SEC is considered to be the toughest conference? It makes absolutely no sense. Any team with 3 losses should not get into the championship…PERIOD! I think the idea of having conference champions go in with a bye is stupid. Seed the top 12 teams and put them all in a bracket where every game is played at a neutral sight equal distance between the two schools that are playing each other.
These wins and loses against “ranked teams” is still subjective. Calling an SEC 3 loss team ranked over an ACC, B1G or Big 12 team with 3 losses is a subjective ranking when the teams play almost of their games in conference. Wins and loses matter because football is more than just talent, and you can see that in how close Georgia tech was to beating Georgia, or when NIU beat notre dame. I’m starting to not care about what these people are calling “quality wins”, because that just seems to be based on brand and conference, and not on actually playing the game and beating the team across from you. The people putting sec teams in because of beating ranked teams are the same ones who are ranking, it’s like defining a word using the same word…
Losses weigh more in the end of the season than towards the beginning, with ole miss losing to Florida late in the season, it really hurt in the rankings, South Carolinas losses are against ranked teams, ole miss lost two 2 unranked teams, the head to head matters, but there are other things to account for, not to mention the struggle against the worst team in the sec ole miss had
Unfortunately, the "brand recognition" point that was made is true, imo. Which goes to how much your revenue-generating ability has to do with the treatment you get from the BCS committee and sports commentary shows/networks. That being said, South Carolina had chances to prove just HOW GOOD they are... and blew each one of them (LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama.. and they got lucky in that Clemson game). The committee will seed Boise St and ASU as conf champs ahead of Notre Dame, which means Notre Dame will likely be seeded 7th and send a clear message to that university they need to come to some kind of revenue-sharing deal with a conference and join up ( I say that as a 40 year Notre Dame fan). Just for the record, this year's Notre Dame would win the ACC if it were in it.
In my opinion, as a ole miss fan, i believe Ole Miss is the best team out of miami, SC, bama, and Ole Miss. SC lost to ole miss by 24 points at SC, so how can they be above ole miss. Miami does not have an impressive win and hasn't looked good in wins. So now it is down to bama and Ole Miss, which i think is a toss-up, but i think what edges out ole miss is loss margin ole miss has lost by 13 combine points, bama has lost by 33 combined points. That is my case for ole miss
Alabama two wins was against WKU and Mercer, 2 of the 3 lost was against Oklahoma and Vanderbuilt, the CFP committee should take this into consideration.
Do you personally think that wins over playoff caliber teams are more or less important than losses? (Is a 10-2 team with 2 wins over projected playoff teams and 2 wins over ranked teams and 2 losses to projected teams more or less worthy than a 11-1 team that has not played a single ranked team and lost to an in conference team they were favored by double digits over?)
Regarding the issue that you brought up of ACC teams vs. ranked opponents- is that the same ranking system that had Florida State at #4 to start the season- the system of wild-ass guesses voted on by people that may or may not have any clue about the teams they are voting in as “ranked.” Ranking polls and Strength of Schedule are 100% subjective and largely influenced by past years performance, which in the era of transfer portal and NIL means practically nothing as teams can remake their roster in a single year. If you want to take away credit for beating teams that were RANKED AT THE TIME OF THE GAME then switch your metric to something like wins against teams with winning records or bowl eligibility where there is data to compare rather than pronouncing something “so” simply because you thought it (as in rankings polls).
South Carolina needed to have played UGA, Texas or Tennessee this season and beaten one. Or beaten Bama or Ole Miss when they had a chance. Although they really didn’t have a chance against Ole Miss.
Yeah and we didn't lose to lsu the refs took it from us u take away the bad calls we would be im but its cool we all know who Noone wants to see on the schedule
That's so stupid; I realize that this is in no way the last official ranking but if you're going to be projecting at all then why not rank the top 4 teams 1-4? It is really dumb when people do this. Rank the teams 1-12 that will be 1-12. How hard is that?
THANK YOU BRAD!! Finally someone from CBS makes sense. Emory.....kick rocks. You're making an even bigger fool of yourself. You just compared the ACC to the SEC. THEN.... you said SC is the second best team in the SEC. THEN...you said Texas is battle tested. THEY QUITE LITERALLY HAD THE EASIEST SEC SCHEDULE OF ALL THE SEC TEAM. Their best win is who? Vandy? An 8-4 A&M? MY BROTHER, YOU'VE LOST ALL CREDIBILITY.
Crazy. At some point we just gonna have to settle with top 12 teams and just let it play out. We went from 2 to 4 and now 12. Always room to complain about something.
The problem with the whole thing is the Committee. You instantly have subjectivity. Just make the CFP based on record and EOY strength of schedule. Until then it's just a money grab by the good ole boys.
This guy says the best two teams in the SEC is Texas and South Carolina then went to say I don’t care about Texas strength of schedule Tennessee or Georgia would go on a neutral field with either one of them
Problem here is that the committee will want to put in a token Big 12 team and that will drop SC out. I think SC should be in but the committee will want a team from the B12 in the CFP.
Sorry but if you empower opinions to govern how your sport is run, you can complain but those complaints are irrelevent. Olympic gymnasts dont complain because as a sport they've empowered opinion to determine outcomes. Follow the NFL model where it's about numbers, not feelings. Or stick with the current system where feelings reign supreme.

There should be two playoff Divisions the SeC and B 10 in one and ACC B 12 and one more to make it 5 conferences and the winner of those two play in a championship.
No other conference except the sec plays all tough games. Every game is like a championship game. No one else can say that.
How the hell is Georgia where they are????
No three loss teams!!!!
Clemson could win their conference with 3 losses.
The SEC is far better as a conference this year than the acc and big 12.
3 loss bama that can't score a TD?
No, f that
We beat Georgia . Cry more
Georgia needed 8 OT to beat GA tech lol GA is trash
Hey what’s the ACC’s record against the SEC this season?🤔
If only there were ways to settle this with comparable teams…
How the hell should South Carolina be above Ole Miss getting in?? We skull drug SC in Columbia 27-3
Without our RB and our QB wasn't 100 percent...would be a different outcome if we played now
Because South Carolina just beat the 12th ranked team in the nation this past weekend
@@bobbybyars4647 😂I hear ya
@@MarjuanJonesand we beat #3 georgia by 3 scores. And we beat SC who beat #12 team by 4 scores in Columbia. So your point being?
Sorry but Miami is OUT
Unfortunately, the "brand recognition" point that was made is true, imo.
Bama meat riding is so intense these “experts” have convinced themselves Alabama has 3 quality losses
Hell yes. Go Gamecocks. I love the season we've had. Not gonna hold my breath on love from the committee.
I apologize, I swear I read an article that stated the contract was not renewed
Ole Miss and Alabama should be in the playoffs they both beat South Carolina Ole Miss beat s.c. at s.c plus they both beat Georgia
SC only lost to 3 ranked teams and LSU shouldn’t count Bama lost to 2 unranked and Ole Miss lost to unraked team aswell
27-3 bitch on the road Ole Miss blew them out fuck out here with that bullshit
Ole miss lost to Florida 😂😂😂😂
And Kentucky 😂😂
Alabama two wins was against WKU and Mercer, 2 of the 3 lost was against Oklahoma and Vanderbuilt, the CFP committee should take this into consideration.
Do you personally think that wins over playoff caliber teams are more or less important than losses? (Is a 10-2 team with 2 wins over projected playoff teams and 2 wins over ranked teams and 2 losses to projected teams more or less worthy than a 11-1 team that has not played a single ranked team and lost to an in conference team they were favored by double digits over?)
@Foggydidwhat Actually I don't care! I posted the comment to see how many pathetic Rooster holders are going to defend Alabama
@@ducnguyen-qv7sw don’t think you read the question but fair justification. I was just curious since you sounded eloquent and smart
@@Foggydidwhat Like I said 'I don't Care'!
It's the Pathetic Alabama Rooster Holders, that's what I'm going after.
@@ducnguyen-qv7sw ahh I gotchu now
Regarding the issue that you brought up of ACC teams vs. ranked opponents- is that the same ranking system that had Florida State at #4 to start the season- the system of wild-ass guesses voted on by people that may or may not have any clue about the teams they are voting in as “ranked.” Ranking polls and Strength of Schedule are 100% subjective and largely influenced by past years performance, which in the era of transfer portal and NIL means practically nothing as teams can remake their roster in a single year.
SO Arizona State is out 10-2 but Alabama 3 loses and South Car. in ????????? nah bruh
They’ll get in before either 3 loss SEC team if they win the big 12….I agree though, devils should be above all 3 loss SEC teams
Exactly
Call the waaaambulance, bruh.
Retard they get in the top 12 isn't the bracket
This isn’t the ap poll asu 12 rn
2:48 “if south carolina hadn’t lost three games to bama, lsu, and ole miss in september, they would be ranked in the top 5” I mean yeah? obviously?
Ole miss should be over Alabama
Ole Piss should also be in the SEC game instead of the puppies
The committee is gonna do whatever mental gymnastics they have to too get Bama in the CFP
Ok SEC homers, win your conference championship and your IN, don’t change the rules to fit your SEC and B 10 invitational.
The talent level in the SEC is insane and it takes a toll on a team playing an SEC schedule every week. LMAO Gotta get rid of these DEI hires. Woulda. Coulda. Shoulda. Emory is a complete idiot.
Expand the playoffs? How many teams do you want in the playoffs. The playoffs should have been expanded to 8 teams. 12 teams is too many.
Orange back in the top 25!
See how they name every acc team about how good they are but not cuse they the future
Sometimes that logo just means more.
Crazy. At some point we just gonna have to settle with top 12 teams and just let it play out. We went from 2 to 4 and now 12. Always room to complain about something.
Alabama has 3 losses and just lost to Oklahoma (a bad team) last week. How in the world are they #11?
The problem with the whole thing is the Committee. You instantly have subjectivity. Just make the CFP based on record and EOY strength of schedule. Until then it's just a money grab by the good ole boys.
So Alabama in over Carolina. You cannot have Carolina over Ole Miss but behind Alabama. Either behind both or ahead of both.
We don’t need expanded playoff # teams. Bowl games are good enough for the teams who don’t make the cut
ASU Beat An Sec Team SC Should’ve Won More Games
The ENTIRE schedule matters.
I love seeing all Bama haters in these comments. Have a great day. Roll Tide 🐘🏈
No big 12 team and 5 sec teams. Wow
So no Big 12 representative? I think the winner is in, Bama slips to 12 and SC is out
Sorry but if you empower opinions to govern how your sport is run, you can complain but those complaints are irrelevent.
Olympic gymnasts dont complain because as a sport they've empowered opinion to determine outcomes.
Follow the NFL model where it's about numbers, not feelings.
Or stick with the current system where feelings reign supreme.
Miami better be below ASU or these rankings r BS… they really need to get rid of the preseason rankings and started at week four because it is so biased
You really need some analyst who don’t have an SEC bias. Crawford has been pro-SEC his entire career.
The ACC couldn't hold a SEC jockstrap
what? I thought SMU had 2 ranked wins? with Louisville and Pittsburgh???????
Dude talking about ACC is lost as last year’s Easter egg.
Alabama fan here.. We don't deserve to be in it. However if we do... ROLL TIDE!!
“How many points would Ole Miss score on Miami?” Bro they beat Florida 41-17 who beat ole miss by a touchdown. You can’t play hypothetical football when the stats don’t even support you.
“If SC hadn’t lost 3 games they would be a top 5 teams.” Absolute braindead statement.
Wow 5 Sec teams nearly half the field? The SEC is not that good. Pure favoritism!

I believe that they will have to include the Big 12 winner.
Teams that take care of business in their own conference and have more wins should be taken over 3 and 4 loss teams.
