[FTQ #1] Live Shiny Treecko after 25,589 Total SRs and 7 Uncatchable Pooches! • Pokemon Ruby

I started this hunt back in May and took a break in July to work on my White 2 DTQ. I picked it back up late October and proceeded to get a shiny almost daily until it finally concluded with the Treecko on Halloween Eve! Next target is the infamous 4% Ralts, which I'm going to be extremely patient for.

Thanks, Ashlyn! Unfortunately route 102 has Poochyena, so I'm not out of the woods quite yet lol. At least there's other stuff to get, but here's hoping Ralts shows up in the early phases!

Congrats on getting the treecko! To be honest I would have never lasted going through nothing but 7 shiny pooches just to get the treecko... 7 shiny pooches is very unfortunate, but hey, at least it paid off with a female treecko in gen 3! Congrats again and keep up the great work! :D

Oof I got a shiny treecko on my first every pokemon ruby play through and i didn't know it shiny until a friend brought his game over and i was like wow dude u have a shiny and he was like no bro it's you and i was like ohhh so ye then I hunted for it in my emerald and got it after 796 soft resets so ye I love the shiny treecko design so congrats on your treecko

Lol this reminds me of my first shiny treecko which was also female and took only 128 soft resets with no fails. But I did fail my first poochyena earlier this week, tho.

If you hunted this nonstop, hypothetically how long would it have taken to Soft Reset 25k times?

Each SR can take a minimum of 17 seconds, so hypothetically, if I were to hunt this nonstop without any type of pause, 25,589 SRs would take ~121 straight hours, or ~5 full days.

@@Elite4W that's not bad, and even then that's assuming you don't get a shiny before 25k

@@turnoffthedark268 Well, it only seems that way bc it's the bare minimum time, which isn't humanly possible to reach. That'd be around 5.1k per day, but since I'm human and have to sleep, eat, work, etc. I usually did 1-2k per day. If I hunted every day, then it'd probably take me around a month to reach that number.

@@Elite4W still 1-2k per day even with sleep, eating, and work is good progress. What has your luck been with shinies through SRing?

@@turnoffthedark268 I'd consider my SR luck to be somewhat above average. Out of the 25 SR shinies I have, only 2 have gone over odds and 4 have been under 1k SRs.
