- Are the iPhone 8's stereo speakers actually 25% louder than the iPhone 7 speakers? Appleinsider rigged up a high-end Rode microphone and played various genres of music to compare both devices.

Can't tell much on this video but the quality on the 8 is significantly better! It's louder yeah.. but it just sounds more like a speaker and I could actually play music from it which I've never used my phone for before because it was sooo flat
i just upgraded from an 8 plus to an xs max and the sound on the xs max is amazing! litteraly sounds like its cominig from a bigger speaker.

Yes I have both and the 8 is a bit louder, but 7 is still perfectly fine
Are the top and bottom speaker more balanced than on the 7? On my 7 most of the volume comes out of the bottom, blocking the top loses you pretty little

I think that's just how the 7 was at this point, and people who say otherwise just don't notice those things.
tipoomaster Same on my i7 too.. I've tested an iPhone 7 and it's speakers an apple shop to see if it has the same issue, and yes, the bottom speaker is louder. In conclusion, apple fucked up a bit on the i7 stereo speakers.. But they still sound good though.. But yeah, the 8 does sound a lot better, and I think that's because the speakers are now balanced and also just simply have better quality
The top speaker on the 8 gives out quite a bit more volume, especially in the highs. Stay tuned.

I have both the 7 plus and 8 plus and I’ve used the 7 plus for a year, my friend has a brand new 7 plus that she just got and i compared all three. The iPhone 8 Plus vs my 7 plus that I have used for a while , the 8 plus sounded louder clearer and more punchy, but when comparing the iPhone 8 Plus to my friends brand new iPhone 7 Plus they literally sound identical apart from at 100% volume the iPhone 8 Plus has a bit more bass than the 7 plus but it’s hardly noticeable. And the iPhone 7 Plus my friends got compared to my used iPhone 7 Plus, well it just sounded identical as the iPhone 8 Plus vs my used 7 plus , the new 7 plus sounded miles better which means if you just keep your speakers clean then they sound the same

iPhone 8 plus speakers are more louder and sounds more open compared to the iPhone 7 plus which sounds too tiny

no,the 8 + has much more bass than the iphone 8.i tested that in person.i have a 8+ and it just blows everything out of the water
obiously if you imagine the mechanism of the speakers, you can see that 8 plus is larger than 8... which means 8 plus has ability to generate larger sounds than 8

Hello! I bought a brand new iPhone 8 Plus. Have anyone noticed a sound distortion like click/popping when you start a sound(song etc) and another one click/popping after the sound ends ? This happens especially when I turn the volume all the way up. Thanks!
AreaG41 Same here with my iPhone 8. Also sometimes the click appears when you listen to Spotify for example and type a text. Still got the problem or found a fix ?

I’m kinda scared that this is damaging the speakers over time tho
ayayay just updated and this popping is less noticeable but sound distortion while typing on messenger is still there. My question to apple forume before two weeks was if this is because of my faulty device or it’s a common issue with iPhone 8. Still no answer.

I do think that the 7’s speakers catches lots of dust over time and it should be cleaned. And that’s what i did and now it sounds a whole lot better.
I think Apple is being bias as they know that!! By the time the 8 models coma out the 7’s speakers will start to quieten

I got a iphone 8 plus and im a samssung guy but I got it bc one of my favorite games is only on iphone and the ear pice speaker sounds terrible in streo mode it sounds so tiny

Terrible test. You can't have the phones on an acoustically reflective surface. The volumes were different, so that blows the test again... The 7 sounds better, just not louder. The 8 sounds like bees in a can. Too much high frequency distortion.
