Cab view of the Mae Nam freight line in Bangkok

- This is a rare video showing the freight line that goes between Makkasan and Mae Nam Station. This is only used by cargo trains. Passenger trains don’t come down here. The video starts at Mae Nam and goes back to the main line at Makkasan.
Great Video, brings back memories of tripping over the line on my way back to my Sukhumvit Hotel, all steamed up of course! And I'll most likely do the same again before the end of this month. Never yet saw a train on this line in all my visits to BKK, although I have seen a few further north by the skytrain pillars. I might have been 'trained' on other activity? Ha!

The oil refinery branch off it is longer still. I've seen some night time cabrides on that recently. It joins this line at 4 minutes, just after the signal box that the two lines share.

@@thaitrainguide Were you actually in the cab, or did you just borrow driver's own footage or get him/her to operate a camera for you? I noted a woman's voice in the cab and assumed she was part of the train crew. Or was she a radio controller? (Unlikely!) But I suppose now she may have assisted you in some way to get the necessary footage. Any trade secrets you are prepared to divulge here? ;-) I have often wanted to find a way into a local train cab, this far South, but my current railway contacts are mostly retirees
Added to which, they are very protective of and paranoid about railway property down here, and there are also security concerns, and armed officers on many trains.

Yes I was in the cab as I was taking photos too. This was a chartered diesel railcar.
