The colors are gorgeous 🥰 I really really love Jackson's watercolor block so I was excited to try thia pad, and I hated it for other reasons 😅 it didn't repel the water but it did warp a Lot and it didn't feel nice to work with at all. So I'm sticking to their blocks 😅
@E4Alabbasy I'm glad I'm not the only one! I may have to revisit jacksons own paper to see if my thoughts have changed since it was quote a while ago I tried it, thank you for the comment 💕✨️
Did you touch the paper a lot? The oils from your fingers will cause a resistance on the surface. Otherwise, it could be an issue with the sizing, which is strange since it's a new product. Also, if that is Bockingford paper, it's not cotton, and in my experience with it, it does not absorb watercolor well until you get a first layer down. Hope you enjoy your new paints!
I dont think I did but I have tried more pages underneath since and they didn't have the same effect, so maybe! I don't know why I thought it was cotton, a silly assumption on my part. It's not my favourite paper but definitely works better than my first impression. Thank you for the comment!
@@Peachykraft I think when you were swatching the opera pink, I can see a set of three of fingerprints. It is not necessarily you, but since it is the first page, there might have been a bunch of people touching it at the store. Good that you only did swatching and not trying to do some actual art
@@Replicanna-rl6zg wow thanks for informing me you obviously have good eyes, yes the second page worked better so there must be a oily residue! I still prefer my regular cotton papers but it will be nice for practicing
Lovely haul. The colors are really beautiful. So it's strange with the paper..did you tried another sheet from the pad? Maybe ask Jacksons, their support maybe can help.
Yes I tried a second page after filming and it worked fine, so strange I will have to do a painting using it 😅
Great haul! Is it possible that with the first paper pad, it was a top protective sheet and the rest of the pad is good paper? It’s hard to imagine that cotton paper would behave this way

The difficulty on your Paper come from the fat from your vingers we're you have touched it!!!
