It is something that should be use every single time that you park your car, whether it has an automatic transmission or a manual one. It’s said you should be in neutral before using the parking brake and then put into park

Some body told me to use hand brake first then put in park on down hill parking spot, but I was pulling up hand brake with extra force, may be that was causing some clung noise while reversing and turning my car next day, I will try using normal pulling up the hand brake and will see what happens, thanks for your information.

Good stuff. If you don't use it, you lose it - like a second language. What I mean is, eventually after extended non-use of the parking brake, the cable will seize up and will cost you a pretty penny to fix it. 😎🤓
