  • We caught so many fish this day that I only edited the catches we were targeting. We caught them on pretty much everything from top water petes to a spin dandy with a cricket. Guys, I highly recommend this river if you want to catch some of the most colorful redbreast in southeast Georgia. As always, thanks for watching and like and subscribe!!

We were using a mix of popping bugs, spin dandies, and small rapala floating minnows

How do you cast a popping bug on a spinning rod? That’s pretty good.

I use braided line to start with and I let out enough slack and whip it like a fly rod. It take a little practice but once you get the hang of it, you can about place it where you want it within a reasonable distance

@@southernboundaries well you seem to have it figured out. I’ll definitely be trying it out. I fish the ogeechee when I get a chance to head down to see family. I’ll be fishing it as soon as the water levels get back down.

@@southernboundariesI was wondering the same thing. I fly fish a good bit but haven't tried using a spin/spincast rig. In tight quarters, it might be easier than using a long fly rod.
