    Nice comprehensive overview of the features including ones you wouldn't think about. I recently took the 2017 Edge Titanium V6 on a road trip and loved it.

    Great video covering it all. I have a 2016 Titanium Edge and at 68 years old and a guy who trades every 2 to 3 years BEST vehicle I have owned in a long time! The only way I give up my 2016 Edge is to get a 2018 or 2019 with even more in it. Took two road trips NY to Florida fulfilling some bucket list stuff. Went with it because I love driving this vehicle so much!!! Wife loves riding in it, prefers driving her 2016 Nissan Altima more though. Great storage, great ride, great tech stuff!!! Quiet ride too...good road handling. I understand the comment about guy who only sees hood. Took me a while to get used to it but love it now especially fact that short snout. That gives you great room inside. I care about instruments and dash same reason as guy that looks at hood, that's what I see don't care what others have to see though I like outside as well. This has great digital instruments and although I updated my 2016 to handle Apple play, software update and easy self change of usb connector up front, I find even as an apple fan boy I like the MySync three system that comes worth it better. Only reason I use apply carplay nav etc is when need most up to date map. Really wish car dealers would offer cheap nav updates, $180 updates is ridiculous in this day and age. After my 2014 ford had that worst ever microsoft system I was really happy to see this new sync system is so wonderful!

    My mom got a ex-rental 2017 Edge Titanium 2.0 EcoBoost in shadow black with ceramic/black interior with option group 300A, which I dubbed it as the "base titanium" back in late May 2018.

    2 weeks ago, my mom got a near-new 2017 Edge Titanium in Shadow Black at Enterprise Car Sales with 31k miles on it! Her's didn't came with panoramic roof because sunroof are prone to leak and expensive to maintain. Interior is a ceramic color (beige with gray & white highlights)!

    Is it possible to get the roof rails with the panoramic roof? Or, the 302 package without the panoramic roof? I really need roof rails more than a sunroof, but I like the other features in the package.

      You can not get the roof rails with the panoramic vista roof. So that's why the roof rails is only available as optional equipment with the 301A package.

    When in town traffic, will it totally brake if a collision is eminent?

    • @longmcarthurford
      @longmcarthurford  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, it should, they won't claim it will come to a complete stop out of liability. But it will initiate the brake to help once you hit the brakes.

    older lady not tech savvy.
    haven't own a new vehicle in 20 yrs.
    just got burgandy velvet 2017 edge titanium AWD with the standard 300A pkg and winter pkg for northeast snow bound areas.
    1- how does AWD system work for snow, slush, sleet and rain?
    And how is the traction distributed?
    2- was hoping for a better A/S tire than the factory installed Pirelli Scorpions on there that seems to be harder riding , little noisier and wear out quicker than The Michelin LTX A/S Rated number 1 tires.
    Ford wouldn't exchange for better tire.
    3- Instrument cluster display lower left hand side shows 2 round icons lit up with 3 lines projecting out of them. I cant seem to shut that icon off.
    headlights seem to work.
    4- I wanted the HID headlights but couldn't afford the whole pkg price. wanted just headlight upgrade but got the cheaper yellow dull ones in base pkg instead.
    Is there anyway to get brighter headlights now that I've already purchased vehicle??
    Also what's the easiest couple of ways to lock my vehicle after I have parked it??
    thank you kindly, and will probably have a lot more questions for you along the way

    Ok 2 questions:
    1- Is the panoramic sunroof one touch closed or do you have to hold the button to close it?
    2 - The cruise control distance and stop function, are they on all Titanium 302A packages?

    • @longmcarthurford
      @longmcarthurford  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1 - to close you need to hold it
      2 - Adaptive Cruise Control is optional as part of the Drivers Package

    What are the differences between the 2018 titanium and the 2017 titanium? Only feature I can't find in the 2017 titanium via the brochure is adaptive cruise.

    How is this vehicle in winter conditions?

      Since it is Front Wheel Drive, it does a real good job, if you want to be confident get it in All Wheel Drive.

    Is the front seats on the titanium are sport style design?

    • @longmcarthurford
      @longmcarthurford  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't call it sport leather seats, you would see that on the Sport trim.

    Do you know if the 2018 Edge Sport will come out with an interior other than black?

    • @pilotop6851
      @pilotop6851 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I "was" considering a Platinum Edge (no longer, after a test drive), I noticed a large portion of used ones were black interior. New ones were a much better split of cocoa and black. I took that to mean people were very dissatisfied with black and traded them in sooner. Or used ones with cocoa sold much faster, one or the other.

      They got ceramic, which is a whitelike beige or grey.

      @@theKevronHarris I will go check out the color but honestly now I'm thinking of the 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk V-6. Thanks for the info.

    @pilotop. That is hysterical that the hood design bothers you so much. It is so cool to me and everyone I know. For 20 years I've looked at the same flat Hood and now I love having a designer Hood!! It is for Aesthetics and aerodynamics. You just must be a plain vehicle kind of guy, lol.

    We thought we had narrowed down our search for an SUV to the Edge, though we've never had a Ford before (always GM). I liked the exterior looks, the interior looks, the engines, the features, on and on. So the questions was would I enjoy driving it, and went to a dealership to take a spin. I liked the feel of the seating, the power, the handling (electric steering felt a little "off" to me). But one thing was a deal-breaker for me - the primary forward driving view - the hood! To me its a hideous look with those two small raised "channels" up both sides. it literally looks like a piece of steel barn roofing slapped over the engine. I just couldn't stomach that look forward at the road. The hood is anything but pleasing to the eye and a complete deal breaker. That may sound ridiculous but I drive a lot in my occupation and the hood view is what you see all day, more than anything. Without sitting in one you really wouldn't notice the repulsive resemblance to steel roofing the hood has. Sounds a bit harsh I know but I was greatly disappointed by this when I test drove. Oh well - so I'm bounced back to the GM's I've always had (Acadia). One thing I like about Ford products is the circular wheel wells, GM tends to use a more squared look.
    What are these hood ribs, are they functional as stiffeners? Was there an issue with the hood fluttering/rippling at highway speeds? They're anything but aesthetic.
