I'm using Nothing phone (2) . The "flip to glyph" feature is wrongly being accused of being a gimmicky light. It's actually a very simple basic feature but so useful. Simply going in silent mode when kept in flipped position and then simply going to normal mode once you take it in your hand. For me it's definitely a USP. it can be appreciated by those who really want to focus on work/life than notifications
People say they are bored from the design of usual phone but when nothing did make a unique design with useful glymph people say its wierd, conclusion India ki janta hi chutiya hei ,India doesnt deserves to have nothing .Indian people's deserve only crappy phones with worst ui as possible

UFS 3.1 should be there we can manage with DDR4X RAM but can not negotiate with storage speed

To be honest, the target demographic for this phone wouldn't really notice these things
Yes, I'm using glyphs interface in my day to day life with essential notifications and charging indicator and the software experience is good
BIG BIG YES. I am a phone (1) user and i use the glyphs every single day. Flip to glyph is an everyday essential. My phone is on vibration all the time, and i can honestly say, ive missed more phone calls when the phone was facing screen up, rather than face down on a desk.
The glyphs are not gimmicks, you need to use them to understand.
I am a phone 1 user for more than 1.5 years now and yes glyph interphase has become a way to interact with my phone. It actually saves time being a student all thanks to essential notification and flip to glyph.
Should I buy nothing phone 1 in 2024 it's reliable or not?

I m using Nothing Phone 2 and having a same experience.... It is useful when you are busy in other work.... Flip to glyph is an awesome feature....
@@Iwritereality Go for Phone 2 or Phone 2A now as you will not get a long term software update in Phone 1
@@Iwritereality phone 1 is absolutely reliable but it's pretty old now (1.75 yr), 2 Android updates have already been delivered and only 1 is left. Also in the past 2 yrs tech used in Camera lenses and Processors have advanced a lot, so it's always better to buy a new phone. You can wait for Phone 3 or if your budget is not that much then Phone 2a is also good but the storage is UFS 2.2 which is not good for storage data transfer.
I use the Glyph light on my phone 2 almost everyday. It is not something I cannot live without. But it definitely, makes life easier. I use the glyph timer as a pseudo pomodora timer for my studies. And I almost always place my phone face down, so the essential notifications are a life changer.
So yeah, I am in love with this design and the brand Nothing. Pretty good stuff.
the phone is hot garbage
as a phone 2 user, I love that nothing has nailed the brand identity thing. for every other brand they only have the camera module. but nothing with their glyph and the transparent DESIGN LANGUAGE isnt DEPENDENT on the cameras to make a brand identity. NOW THATS INNOVATION
Great review. I think I saw the phone lagging when opening up apps. That delay is all too familiar to me on my A54 (also UFS 2.2). They shouldn't have cut down on that, considering how smooth the rest of the software is.
the phone is using a garbage mediatek processor not a fuqing a17 pro. so yeah lag is to be expected

I am a phone 2 user from the day it launched, Glyph is a part of my life now:
- i use the volume indication while running to quickly check at what volume am i listning music
- Glyph timer to set a timer when motor is on for filling the water tanks, so that i dont forget it
- Flip to glyp (i used to keep my phone silent but this now is a good balance: silent when working and when moving around in my pocket, not silent)
- Calander 5 min countdown is very helpful in motivating me to get up and get started with the task asigned
eg: while working in the morning i can see the lights pop up 5 min prior so that i know i need to stop working and get up for a running session in the morning
- Recording a video with glyph on is just sooo frekin cool
- Infact while writing this i can see the calander timer has started indicating me my work time is about to start in 5 min, bye lmao
okay im getting it as soon as i get a good college hopefully ill be joining one this year and this nothing phone 2a will be my first phone

Nothing Phone 1 & 2 owner. I don’t use the glyph lights however I’m very happy with the devices themselves. The display, software, hardware and overall UI and features are excellent. I will buy a Phone 2 a. Thank you for this hands on video!
Yes, i do use the glyph light and its especially useful when the phone is in silent and i can see if i have got a notification or a call.

I'm phone 2 user and I use 2 functions for glyphs. . 1. Essential glyph 2. Flip to glyph
honestly, im also gonna recommend this phone a lot. the price to performance ratio is really good. just the cameras could have been tuned better

@@prathmeshpatil128 definitely, they can correct the colour range and processing time can be reduced. They have done it with updates on phone 1.

My admiration extends to the circular camera module, especially when it's perfectly centered.
i use nothing 2 the glyph feature surprisingly not a gimmick, essential notification is very useful and underrated, zomato and uber notification is very helpful and mostly accurate, flip to glyph is also a neat feature.

First time I saw you used Franco Kernel Manager. Does it give more accurate SoT than battery tab in settings? Pretty problematic to calculate SoT nowadays in some UIs as MiUI/HyperOS etc. Also does it give more accurate readings for other things like CPU & GPU Frequencies?
FKM is not so accurate about sot but you get the details of it. In MIUI i think you need to lock the app in recents so it doesn't get cleared when clearing recent apps. For CPU and GPU you can able to overclock or underclock it, but i think that needs root access or ADB access. It works well btw
I think the cameras once tuned with software updates this has the potential to be one of the top competitor in the price point it is launched...
I am using nothing phone 2 and i am a student so the timer feature is really useful for me

If back panel is fused with camera module, wouldn't be the upper part of camera lens would eventually scratch and it would be difficult to snap clear picture? Pls clear this as well.
I am a phone 2 user and i use the glyph only for the ringtone.I always like to keep my phone rested on the back so its not much use to me. But the phone is so beautiful that i dont need the glyph light for the phone to standout.

Ufs 2.2 is a deal breaker for me. I saw the stutter after exciting the camera app and reminded me of my old rent note 10 pro from a couple of years ago with 6 gigs of ram 😢. I was planning to buy this phone but now I'll wait for Notting phone 3, maybe.
the thing about having good hardware is software can always improve the performance . an update will definitely improve the camera output.
5:17 colour accuracy test matters the most to me. Thank you dude for that.

For me cameras and colour accuracy is THE MOST important thing.
Phone is good definitely, pricing too. But ufs2 2 and unreliable cameras are major problems.
Phone 2 user here, glyphs are quite handy for me, as I work from home most of the time, helps me configure certain functions without being disturbed

i know it might be gimmick for some , but for me gliph light and software is the biggest reason to consider nothing phones. And also uniform bezels looks sleek

Phone (2) user, and i do use the glyph timer and flip to glyph everyday.
Even if thats of no use, i dont mind it as its their identity.
Storage speed is a major costcut but yeah for the price i wont mind considering iqoo z7 pro (main competitor) has the same speeds without ultrawide

Flip to glyph is a life saver, when you are in meeting you just need to flip the phone to mute so you don't have to press any buttons or hit the volume rocker just flip lol

@@sky.1505 20k ??? It's 24k dude, anyway it's not about the pricing, it's more about they have launched previous devices with aluminum frames and have built an image as a premium brand there, so I had hope. Also I found out that this 2a has a metal frame inside.
I like the design language of phone 2a compared to phone 2. Might consider buying one as a work phone. Currently using 14pro.
Bought phone 1 on the first sale itself since then its been a flawless for me, thinking of upgrading now to 2A only thing i miss the wireless charging but i haven't used that much in my time with it.
people really like wasting money on low end trash instead of just buying a flagship
Still using Motorola one power from 2018 , and still it is smooth and fast in normal task 😅 so waiting for the upgrade with new Motorola 😊

The top variant lacks telephoto camera at its price for better and awesome photography, rather i would go with realme 12 pro
Since it is a polycarbonate back, there are concerns on if it would turn yellow overtime. (Just like it happens for transparent phone convers)
Nothing always brings something fresh, I wish for the phone 3 they go full-blown flagship specs.
Would have considered it if it had the 7gen3 cause I prefer qualcomm modems.

I am a nothing phone 2 user and I use glyph lights like essential notifications, charging indicator, the sound level feature and is still an eye catcher for people. Performance and UI is great. Satisfied with the product and the phone 2a also feels a great deal for the price. Except for cameras which are not good in even 18-23k phones generally people can select nothing phone instead of those oppo Vivo phones who are just a waste of money.
But surely there's gotta be a phone in this price range from vivo, Redmi etc that's got better camera performance no ?
Can the problems mentioned in this video be fixed with software updates ?

I'm a nothing phone 2 user and glyphs are so useful in some cases for my use and useless in some cases but overall it looks cool 🔥 Star of nothing is their nothing OS 🔥🔥. I'm loving it.
Im using nothing 1 phone for past one year and its realy a good phone for that price. If u want a clean android experience with faster updates, decent performance and camera i will recommend nothing brand. Cons about this brand is its new company so less service centers, you wont get charger, case or screen protector in the box need to spend some extra on that
Is it true Nothing 2a 12/256 GB model have LPDDR5 RAM with UFS 3.1, whereas lower models got LPDDR4 with UFS 2.2 storage?

Nothing team is working very hard in their design and software department. Mark my word..they will definitely give a tough fight to apple and Samsung one day.
I was not very impressive with fancy gliph lights covering the entire back of the phone but now I'm actually happy that they've tried to make it look minimalistic and subtle. I'm looking forward to buy this phone in sale..
