Hey Pete, at 20:51, considering purple got 4 troops, meaning he has 12 or more territories, and you saw last turn that they had a 17 stack assumedly against a guard stack of white in Scandinavia, you could have counted their territories to figure out that they still had material in orient. You didn't go for the kill, but just thought I'd share how I would've determined that the purple kill was off the table on that turn, instead of waiting for greens next turn to figure it out.
Pete did the reverse of the same sum... It was not 100% that purple 17 stack was Vs a white stack, it could if been the remainder stack but it was more important to know exactly where the extra purple troops were, location of them mattered more than just knowing they exist. He calculated greens troops and knew purple had territories behind him still and that's precisely why he didn't go for the purple kill. If it had of been just the 17 stack and nothing behind green then it would of been worth popping the 17 up north to see if it was white or more purple behind it... But without knowing exactly where the extra purple troops were then the risk of feeding is too great. You're not wrong but you missed Pete show his working and correctly determine purple had territories specifically behind green and not just "elsewhere".
It wasn’t possible to calculate greens draft count until greens turn, which was after it was possible to go for the purple kill, so that wasn’t why he didn’t go for the purple kill, he was just erring on the side of caution. And sure, you can’t be 100% certain that purple didn’t have troops in Scandinavia but stacking on a guard stack is classic bot behaviour, and black emoting from a break pretty much 100% seals the deal for me. With this in mind, it means that purple only has 9 territories in Russia, which is not enough territories for +4 troops, and there is no other possible place for purple to be apart from orient. All I’m saying is that, on Pete’s turn, it was possible to determine with pretty much 100% certainty that green had purple troops behind him in orient. Instead, he decided to be cautious and figure it out on greens turn. Either way it worked out.
@@Truth_is_all_that_exists after counting whites draft of 31 the turn before, he does in fact hold Scandinavia, so I was right in my assumption that purple was stacking against a guard stack But you don’t need to count whites draft to be pretty much 100% certain that white holds Scandinavia. You just need to know how the bots play.

Example: I lost 8v4 cap roll turn one in a game, thought my 5 cap was safe fora turn since it was surrounded by all ones. Not so, my opponent rolls 8v5 cap turn one and gets perfect dice. @@BillboMC No that was only later. You're right that purple was still in the pocket when he got +4 Pete counting how many troops purple needed to get to make sure they cleaned purple could still have been important for later if green had not botted out

Which is confirmed by white emoting an angry face when the bot breaks him in Scandinavia. And with that info you can 100% confirm the bot has material behind green. Its funny how emoting in fog of war is actually a really bad idea sometimes and gives away heaps of info.

And thats 100% just because I'm watching it back and have all the time in the world to micro-analyse, but sometimes you'll be looking at whether you have a set or not or just distracted and completely miss a crucial piece of info from a players draft count and never look back in the log. Just something I've noticed.
They were left there from when Purple was stacking on that territory. I think Purple misinterpreted Pete's thanks at 9:06 and thought Pete was asking for him to leave the territory or otherwise just being aggressive. So in response purple puts enough troops that Pete can't wipe him out.
People botting out the moment they face the smallest challenge is annoying. I get the yellow bot out when your cap gets slammed turn 1 and blue as well when the snowball hits you. Green and purple however were both in great position. Too many new players coming into the game and don't understand how to win even from a good or winning position. Making intermediate+ lobbies doesn't help. Green held the entire bottom, got +30 but they still bot out because they don't know how to play an endgame. Expert+lobbies are even worse than the bot out noob fest because then you get 5h stalemates when nobody does anything because gotta get those precious rank points
I really don't like how many stacked games you upload recently, because of all this tournements. Those games are not as fun to watch objectivly because there is no story to them, no drama, no twists, just pure logical dice rolling.

The Tom foolery games are what I usually end up against, but the GM games also happen and they're not usually actual GMs. So I learn how to beat them when they make a mistake.

Why on earth did purple have a 17 in Ruskeala? Surely the bot didn't set most of the troops there?
