Backpacking during the winter in freezing temperatures - Boulder River Trail

Check out this 8.1-mile out-and-back trail near Arlington, Washington. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are April through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Looks like a fun hike. I’ve been defeated trying to start a fire in wet conditions too. Breakfast at the end looked delicious.
