This actually shows the devs actually care about the game, which is good for the player base, because honestly with all the crap we went through and those of us still playing are the most loyal without a doubt.
some of my iRacing friends recently commented that "people still play dayz?" and i was like "yeah theyre putting out a lot of new content right now." they were shocked to hear that
Dayz has been in a very good spot for the last 3 years, and it's even getting better by every single update. I have no idea where your doubts are coming from. Since Sumrak headed the team, his love and devotion to the game has been quite obvious.
The game is the best it’s ever been and I have high hopes for the future. Nobody said anything bad about it. The “ crap” I was talking about was from 2014- the time the new team changed engines around 2019, when the game was super bugged and hard to play.

Facts
Just wanted to mention that on Livonia map you showed at 0:34 it's written "Кощей" in Russian on a lake. Кощей is a villain from Russian folklore, and you kill him by finding a box under an oak, killing a hare that's in that box, then a duck that's in that hare, then breaking an egg that's in that duck and finally breaking a needle that's in that egg. So it's probably somehow related to that Hanna character.
In English that villain is called Koschei the Deathless.
I’ve commented on other DayZ videos in the past that these mine shaft / bunker doors look perfect for more explorable parts of the map, thanks for putting out the new yellow king graffiti, this could be a big clue to potential new hidden base locations! Hopefully the guy bandit in the black vest means we’re getting different coloured press / stab / vests / plate carriers!

Yeah as the other person said vest is already in the game it’s a tisy tac vest. Black ones are just kinda rare at least I don’t see very many these days
A black plate carrier would be nice... Ya kinda stand out in the cream one, but maybe that's the intended balance, easy to see harder to kill..... I would love there to be underground tunnels in all the maps at these mine sites n stuff

I do like how there is a story/lore in DayZ. All subtle, all environmental, all largely in the trailers.
pretty sure in the flash back that's Hanna's boyfriend or male companion because in one of the trailers hanna is looking for that male character and they find each other again and start fighting there way through a horde

I think the guy wearing the broken yellow helmet in the trailers is the same guy wearing the yellow helmet in the original cinematic trailer for dayz. Its only broken because of the zombies, and he put the nails on the top of the helmet because he found out from watching his friend die (red helmet) that zombies go for the head

I with you on that we only seen the red quack die og yellow king is still alive and Hannah is communicating with the ppl launching the gas that's why they are asking if she is high. Notice in the static zones there's a high point

My thoughts exactly, he survived, the helmet played a role so he kept it and upgraded it to offer more protection by killing infected that try to bite him. Now he's out for revenge.
Unless they essentially update the map sections with them bunkers or how the game engine works I don't think those bunkers will lead anywhere to far. Since you cant physically place objects "underground"/under the map in DayZ and be able to access them. Sumrak was able to do the bunkers on Namalsk by making the each underground area an object with "ground" above them to make it appear like they are underground. In reality there are just steep cliffs on each side of the Athena areas and his custom objects fill in the gaps to make it appear like its actually under the map.
Since Sumrak is now the creative lead for DayZ i think we will see a lot more interesting things being added as long as he is there. Him and the rest of the modding community really made something special with Namalsk. Can only imagine what he can do with the whole team at Bohemia working with him. Def interested to see what future updates hold and where the lore goes from here. Great video man.
The radio silence about 1.19 has been quite long, my only guess is that they may be working on the ability to cut holes into the terrain, essentially making underground locations accessible. That doesn't sound too implausible to me as other games utilise similar techniques
"recharge your batterys" could also mean for flashlights and nvgs which might be a hint at the bunkers

The King in Yellow is a book of short horror stories where this "yellow king" is a forbidden play which induces despair or madness in those who read it.
Makes you wonder if this has anything to do with the yellow kings marks mentioned at the end of the video or maybe one of the devs just really enjoys 1800's horror writers 🤷🏻 lol
The "under to oak tree" poeme is from a tale known as "The giant without hearth" (an German tale)..
When I see a yellow motorbike helmet, combined with new coming overhauled enfusion vehicle system, I personally think they will also introduce a (yellow?) motorbike eventually

Agreed. A story following Hannah's path that leads to a showdown with whoever. A cool twist would be that Hannah is actually a lone wolf bandit and the guy in the yellow helmet was a survivor trying to stop her.

My theory is if they did add bunkers, they'd certainly be filled with gas to prevent people from basing up inside of the, while also giving an excuse to make the bunkers high tier loot locations

The saying about the hare, duck, egg and the death inside it (which is the needle originally, that should be broken) is from a russian fairy tale about Koshey the immortal (Кощей Бессмертный), who is kinda supervillian. Actually you can see his name on the map near Berezino at 0:28. Just some more hints for your next video Marks ;) keep it up!

I'd say it's time for MatPat to uncover a mystery of Yellow King and give him another title to make him mad.
Also even Sour hasn't seen it, but there's also a padlocked entrance to something underground near Plotina Tishina dam with the same Yellow King marking.
My take on it is that since there those are interconnected passageways, that are almost certainly intended for military (probably from Soviet times), where there has to be some evidence of some sinister acts, that ultimately leaked and infected Chernarus.
Also when talking about that yellow motorbike helmet, that looks like a trauma by a blunt melee weapon, probably a baseball bat of that partner of Hannah.
@Angryewokadam And from which side are nails nailed? Probably not from the outside. That's why they were nailed after that damage.
There's no way the nails are from being attacked, how could the nails be sticking out by the pointy side?
The only problem I see in this video is that you said the guy who got hit in the head is yellow king, but as the helmet falls to the floor it is a red helmet not yellow.
Because the Red King is dead, but the Yellow King survived, although severely hurt.
Marks, amazing content as always and until now I’ve never actually seen or realised Bohemia did update trailers… have to keep an eye out for the next. Underground bunkers and complexes would be a nice addition I think. The ability to dig trenches maybe…. 👍

The mine shafts east of Kamensk I could swear when I first started playing the doors were open and you could walk into them. It was just one small room this was just before the pioneer update. Now the doors are closed and it is unaccessable.
The yellow king is a murdering maniac in the first season of true detective with connections to the occult, came out in 2012 and could be a reference
the logo seems to be the edelweiss
a now very rare flower that grows in the alps on the highest peaks and " breaking it " is almost shunned nowadays
its the sighn of german and austrian mountain climbers both in civillian and military lifes

Amazing video mate thanks so much! I will say though the red circle is of radunin not where the new castle was put. The castle is marked on the map with the yellow 👑 writing . I love all this lore and cannot wait to see where it’s going as I didn’t know about the new bunker clues 😃😃

Awesome video! I know I'm pretty late but I have some details to add. The man that hits someone with the nailed bat in the 1.15 trailer is Hannah's boyfriend/husband. You see them meet up at the end of the original trailer. Also, the helmet that falls on the ground is red (the yellow helmet guys partner). The trailers have also stayed consistent with the maps they are shown on. Hannah is seen with NBC gear in the update trailers on the Livonia map which is where everything with yellow king seems to be happening. The only inconsistency I've found is that the first appearance of yellow king (1.17 trailer) is on chernarus. I'm unsure of what map the 1.18 trailer takes place on. I think the voice that talks over the PA system before the gas drops in the 1.18 trailer also has something to do with Hannah's group. Hannah was ready for the gas to drop before any sign of it was shown. I have a feeling that Hannah's boyfriend is maybe yellow king? Or whoever has the yellow helmet in the first trailer is yellow king? Idk.
Theory: The Yellow King is behind the Toxic Gas bombings on all the maps, I suspect he does it to find Hannah's location, for this very reason the bunkers (which supposedly give protection against the toxic gas) are probably marked and blocked by himself in order to prevent Hannah from taking refuge in any of them...
I would also add that in the first trailers you can see the supposed "Yellow King" with a companion in the red helmet (perhaps his brother) whom Hannah managed to eliminate in the zombie scene... The Yellow King would have survived but his brother did not , and for this very reason he seeks revenge on her...

The gas kills zombies that aren't wearing haz immediately upon impact. My guess is they are trying to take back the military bases and highly populated urban areas

Hannah is part of a bundle it’s called “the fallen crown of dayz” in vigor and her flannel shirt and everything is part of the bundle but it also included the helmet with the nails
5:50 actually the yellow king helmet spawns in the castle @ skalisky island in Chernarus

It'd be cool to have the bunkers of dayz be proper base spots because my theory is you'd be practically unstoppable if you can defend the bunkers from raiders since there's only one entrance into the place probably and therefore you could really hoard loot/supplies so whoever as a group can hold these bunkers would/could be king of the server and lore wise the yellow king could be looking into and/or scouting these bunker as base spots for his apocalyptic empire to evolve or they simply could be high tiered loot caches for people to raid but they did recently add the chemical base weapons so I can see those as valuable raid weapons for taking on a player's bunker base , at least this is just my theory and thoughts but great vid Marks and keep up the great content! 👌 ❤

I speculate they will release some sort of NPC based story line, either in MP or a single player made from scratch. It is very suspicious to say the least, that they've been putting so much effort into making these characters and stories since 1.00 without using them somewhere later on.
The first bigger city after coming from the German border in the Czech Republic is "Decin" if you drive from Dresden to Prag by train... its just on the other side from the train tracks over the river elbe... Located in an German and Czech border crossing area known as the Elb(e)-Sandstein Mountains... as a DayZ player you know this as a famous cost city in chernarus.. this train line is known as one of the most beautiful train routes to travel in Europe... You also drive through "Usti nad Labem" another well known city in chernarus...
Funny how your talking about Livonia then it turns to gameplay of Gorka.. probs shoulda done some liv footage.. good stuff tho i never really noticed any of that.. I realise there are a few update trailers i mist be of missed. Cheers

Except 5 million people bought DayZ, but only 400k bought Livonia, but a really cool (though unrealistic) thought. An airport connection would make more sense, and that's already been done, with some servers linking maps together via plane tickets.
I really hope tunnels underground are coming that king sprayed in the wall is a good sign!

The bunkers play into my theory about the back story on DayZ find out more about Hannah and also the infection and what the "Gov" is trying to hide
They asked her if she's high because what she said over the loud speaker.
You need to show this to the game creators and ask the big questions like what is the meaning of the bunkers and other things that players have found over the years.
Finding a mega rare key to explore a bunker would be sweet.
They did a livestream a while ago and they said that the next update (1.19) is going to be the last update relating to the lore.

My theory is that the yellow king and that other guy with the red motorcycle helmet were bandits and they robbed Hannah shot her in the leg cut her face and Hannah lured them into the speaker room filled with zombies to kill them but only the red guy died in there leading me to believe that the yellow king is trying to hunt down Hannah to get his revenge for his friend.
what if the yellow king becomes a world boss and all this is hinting towards the addition of scav-like AI in the form of roaming AI bandits who are possibly the yellow kings gang

I would not at all be surprised if all of this lore is going to be connected to the movie rights that were sold not very long ago.
I haven't seen anyone mention the cowboy from 2:10 and 4:58 . He's wearing the exact same clothes and never to we actually get killed on screen, and he apparently survived his first encounter, why would this "Yellow King" kill him on the second if he even does?
Adam the dayz dev lead who made Namalsk created underground areas to explore, maybe that was just his own way of seeing if it worked to an extent. If he does it in his passion project, theres always a possibility that they could refine it enough so that it comes to official DayZ.
Lots of DayZ maps have undergrounds - Deer Isle, Banov, Iztek etc. However if Sumrak has found a way to implement genuine undergrounds (instead of cut and cover) in Enfusion, that really would amazing.

Question for anyone with the time, I haven’t run all the way West along the railroad tracks past the prison island passed Tikhiyzaliv to the SW edge of the map since I was a new player. Does the railroad end at one of those bunkers or am I remembering someone’s customized tweaking?
That was probably some custom addition. On vanilla the railroad a the road just stop there at the edge of map, with some tank traps, same as everywhere else.
To confirm as of right now it was Bunkers. Good job guys. Golden stars for everyone. 1.19 all day
