Arma 2 has an underrated campaign that almost no one goes over. There's about 3-5 complete walkthroughs on youtube. That alone should tell you how forgotten it is

Dont get me wrong, im not _completely_ shitting on the devs, but the game really came alive once the community got its hands on it with modding. after that its been nothing but up, but had they not done that dayzsa wouldve died.
id be happy if they put everything in they promised like helis planes dirtbikes rocket launchers machineguns ect ect. tbh just see a fully working transports now and again id be happy. The game is becoming too restrictive to be able to easily get about and enjoy social insteractions. its even worse now with toxic attacks. People just logout. its dumb.. This is official. Ive rested about a year, im hoping i can find a good community server without all the restraint. The original Dayz mod was far more enjoyable.
@@Battl3field community servers have all that but the loot is turned up and the guns are way different. Where as 308 will 1 tap on official, you’re lucky to knock them on the first 308 shot if they’re geared. So be prepared.

Sorry to notify you a year later, but same. Some of my best gaming memories are due to this game. I've met so many people on dayz, good and bad, and idk how to explain it but there's just nothing like it. After thousands of hours I still remember my first time playing it and no other game has had the affect on me as playing dayz did.
It's a very weird game. I don't really play video games...at all. During the great stay home of 2020, my roommate had an Xbox and I stumbled across this game. I lost sleep for months playing. I moved in 2021 and that was that. Then I got a recommended video for it about a week ago. I couldn't stop thinking about it. Now hundreds of dollars later, I have a PS5 and one game. DayZ. 😂 It's got an amazing allure.
I don’t think people were being sent to die. There is more to the broadcast, if I remember right there was Morse code in the message that basically said. “Don’t look for us, we are dead. This message will only play when there is no more response. Quarantine failed” I believe all the coordinates given were watching post. When the scouts died one by one and stopped responding the broadcast cut on. I believe if they were killing civilians then the piles of bodies would not look infected. They would look like nasty corpses yeah, but they wouldn’t all show obvious signs of infection. Remember the infection just straight up kills 86% of the people it comes in contact with. I believe the corpse piles were the infected who didn’t survive the initial infection stage. The broadcast is basically a warning that the quarantining of the infection has failed, and everyone who was posted around these high priority areas either died or abandoned their post.

i have my point of view about the DayZ lore (patch 1.21). It also includes facts from Arma:Contact DLC (the alien roots can be found in Livonia bunker, and contact also has a lot of similarities wth Namalsk and DayZ itself) and Namalsk (since the creator of this map is also a dayz dev and the devs themselves said that namalsk could become an official DayZ DLC). Also im not going to include the Arma 2 part since it was mostly explained in the video (by itself Arma 2 only explanatins the lore of Chernarus but not the story of DayZ). Furthermore everything that will be said about Namask are taken from the in game documents and from the Sumrak himself. I think its kinda silly to just limit yourself to arma 2 that doesn't even give answers about outbreak and then create an answers to it from the air lol. The events of DayZ start before the Arma 2, on archipelago Namalsk in early 2000's. Project "Athena" began its research under some shady and private organization NAC "Namask Corporation". The Russian government was worried about how close NAC was doing it's experiments to the Russian borders. NAC had a very good security because sooner or later they would have to fight the Russian government. The main reason behind project "Athena" is to research the unknown root system that was growing under Namalsk and create an artificial portal. Durning that time the root system did not pose as any biological threat and NAC knew that it was a device, or more specifically a transmitter of some sort, it also emitted weak x-ray (neutrino) radiation that was mention in Contact. In result of NAC launching their research, the Russian government wanted to start moving people from Vorkuta, but most of the population refused which allowed NAC to hire more people in their security service. In the 2003, Namalsk infrastructure began to stabilize and in 2008 project "Athena" had Athena-1, Athena-2 and Athena-3 as research facilities. Facility A-1 was connected to the root system, A-2 was assisting facility A-1, object A-3 was the most isolated and the most secret facility of them all and served as a complex where top secret research was taking place. In april of 2011, Russia completely lost the connection with Namalsk. Other countries also began to express their worries about Namalsk experiments and NAC began to hide their investors and investment which did not do any good to their relation with Russia, which Moscow took as a provocation. On the second of June, 2011 - Namalsk reinforced their security even more because of the Russian invasion that most likely will take place. Object A-1 at that time was ready to be used to protect Namalsk and their scientific research. On July 9th Russians invaded Namalsk and took the northern island to establish surveillance of the southern islands. On July 10th NAC we're ready to use A-1 to repel the Russian attack by using a EVR-Strom. At the 6:14 NAC used A-1 in offencive which created a huge blackout at Bering sea area they made Russian retreat by having extremely high casualties on both sides. On the next day NATO joins the conflicts by attacking the A-1 facility and later a rocket struck the same site from the SKAT-12 Russia submarine. On July 12 US assault troops landed at object A-2 but we're taken prisoner. Later the same day Russain and NATO forces decided to leave the archipelago, butin result of NAC declining to stop their research at 7:47 a nuclear ballistic missle was lauched from the SKAT-12 aimed at the Athena-1 facility. The NAC personal was ready to create what they've been trying to do all those years and created a portal that absorbed most of the nuclear warhead energy and sent it to the unknown before planet - "Latvia". They sent the energy in the world of the aliens the same ones that created the roots NAC been researching this whole time. The energy that wasn't absorbed by the portal was enough to destroy the whole complex that was located under A-1 facility, but that did not stopped NAC to abandon their research in A-2 and A-3. Durning next week Russian forces did took the remaining facilities but on 21st of July they were driven off Namalsk by the unknown organization. After those unforeseen events it was clarified that the organization CSAT was the main investor of the NAC, either CSAT were just using NAT as a cover up (since NAC is classified as sub-organization). In the whole world CSAT was viewed mostly as a hostile organization and NATO with Russia had mostly the same opinion on it, and at that point it wasn't really a secret that CSAT had a really strong interest in the root systems for the unknown reasons. Later CSAT took over the root core on Namalsk and continued their research. Aftee next few months unknown space object was spotted within the solar system and was heading towards earth, after flying very closely near the earth the alien ship detached it's capsules and sent it toward earth. The capsules landed at the root system core in Guangxin, China, killing millions. On the same day there been numerous reports about very dangerous airborne virus. The roots system absorbed the virus and began to distribute it to the other 10 root cores, next core happened to be under Namalsk. After researching the virus NAC gave it a name - "VEGA-7", unfortunately most of the residents and scientific personal did not survive. The third core was located either in Siberia or Chernarus. The forth core was located in the Livonia, but during that time in the Livonia's bunker was created a gas which is able to destroy the whole virus structure and affect the roots negatively. (There's happen to be a theory about the virus existence from the same moment aliens planted the root seeds within the earth, but that virus was completely safe for humans and did nothing but to search for the weak spots in our body for the actual VEGA-7. Which makes sense since the character we play as in dayz is immune to it)
litteraly been playing for years and decided to search "dayz lore explained" to get a depper idea of the lore and this vid dropped yesterday! lucky me!
I'm pretty sure ground zero is northern/north-eastern part of a map, since the coordinates given by message of Green Mountain point out deerstands, that strangely enough create a defensive perimeter in the south-western quadrant of a map and I'm pretty sure the ones responsible for outbreak are remnants of Chedaki, since NAPA has gotten rid of radicals. One Reddit theory suggested the ground zero was Khelm, but it's too south to fit the location. I'd say something has to be about that northern Krasnostav military base not even marked on tourist maps, but then there's a tourist trail nearby... Maybe it's even further north, in Novodmitrovsk maybe?
I agree that the Chedaki had something to do with the outbreak, then things got out of hand. I really wanna say it started at the Military Base at Kamensk given the history of the underground section.
Now what about the wrecked ship on the northeast coast? Could that be ground zero? Containers on the ship could of been holding some spooky shit. I also have not watched the full video yet just scrolling comments.
I personally believe it goes like this but you be the judge, this takes place in an alternate timeline where an event similar to "Eagle Strike" from the ArmA 2 campaign happens where the Chedaki Forces used chemical and biological weapons against the CDF forces as a last ditch stand to fight against them as things ramp up against Russians and the US. Soon enough, an outbreak caused by the weapons would have had the big players trying to help contain the outbreak but due to them being in an already weakened state (the CDF having lost a lot of equipment and manpower to the Chedaki Forces, the US losing Razor Team who was tasked in taking down the Chedakis and the Russians who lost equipment as well) would have been defeated by the infection. The underground bunker maybe used as a testing site by the Chedakis before they killed the infected after testing the effectiveness of the weapon.
I like to think Rify shipwreck started it.. one of the factions was transporting it as a bio weapon, the ship crashed in a storm, the gas created zombies on the ship, the zombies infected Chernarus. It makes sense to me as when you go into the gas, the first thing that happens is you start to bleed, alluding to some kind of bubons or skin lesions, then you get a fever.
My story is I'm with 2 others in chernarus trying to survive the unforgiving world doing whatever we can to survive, the first night was scary by myself, my 2 buddies found me and we where on the road for a while eventually we found a place we can call home (our story is still continuing)

My Origin story for the infection, it starts from Namalsk! The plane which used to be in Cherno center, crashed Via infected in the plane which crashed to the window, which rapidly spread from cherno all the way to Tisy. Rapidly the First infected would die off from the virus due the infections life cycle. and it would only spread via bites or soft tissues. but you are the lucky 2% who is completly immune to the virus, even bites cant turn you into infected.

I just got back into Dayz after about a year break due to my friend having lost his job due to the virus =[ He and his wife had to move in with his parents so he just doesn't have time for games anymore sadly. I was having a real hard time getting back into it due to it just not being the same without him and then I saw Namalsk. It looked so freaking cool to me and I decided to give it a chance. I'm having so much fun playing on the hard-core servers and I'm looking forward to the other maps I missed out on. The first bigger city after coming from the German border in the Czech Republic is "Decin" if you drive from Dresden to Prag by train... its just on the other side from the train tracks over the river elbe... Located in an German and Czech border crossing area known as the Elb(e)-Sandstein Mountains... as a DayZ player you know this as a famous cost city in chernarus.. this train line is known as one of the most beautiful train routes to travel in Europe... You also drive through "Usti nad Labem" another well known city in chernarus...
Not sure we should consider Namalsk canon. I mean, all things Namalsk (with a lot of inspiration elsewhere (Stalker mostly) and easter eggs) were made by Sumrak, who is currently the "CEO of DayZ", but he's been on that position for only few years now. Namalsk was also a thing way before DayZ mod, about one year, making it two separate entities. I'm, of course, talking about the original Namalsk for Arma 2, not DayZ Standalone. Actually I didn't get to explore Namalsk here that much yet to see how they merged together. Same with the Arma 3 Contact DLC.
The helicopters and air strikes are "probably" an attempt to take back Chernarus and other countries from the infected. I debated on adding this to the video, but in the end decided against it. :(
Rocket was going to get his brother, who is a virologist, to write up a backstory for the virus. But obviously that didn't happen. Anyway, how is is possible for the Infected to take over ANYTHING ? Those mofos can't even OPEN A DOOR !😆
They just did! We wouldn't have DayZ if we applied logic in it! xD However, in the Lore I've written, for an RP server, they were helped by activists, who released the Infected from quarantines. Guess they were also among the military too. Went blue on blue, creating even more chaos causing the Downfall. Would that happen EVERYWHERE? Probably not, doesn't make much more sense, but it's something. I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i remember the day this happend. All the wheels and car parts fell off every single car and truck and people had to walk from then on unless they were a mechanic and could grow new wheels and oil ect. stupid arse game
I like to think Dayz was a result of the EW campaign in Arma 2. Makes sense why you don’t find many military vehicles or weapons since they fled or got destroyed
At first before I bought the game I made my own theory because chernarus sounds like Chernobyl I thought that the radiation from there had given a powerful mutation to rabies and then this version of rabies began to spread rapidly
Thanks, that was an awesome video! Here are some insights for future ones! ARMA 3 Contact DLC happens in Livonia 2035. This suggests the outbreak was dealt with in the future. The outbreak could be the mysterious event that created CSAT and made it the bigger powerblock in 2030, maybe they somehow found a way to eradicate it or had an ''off'' switch. Maybe that part of the world was completely wiped out or maybe it is still roamed around by clueless freshies. What is very clear in ARMA 3 is that something happened that made NATO be the inferior powerblock, and China/Iran/India became the dominant force. Russia operates in Europe as an ally while CSAT is in 3 theaters, Mediteranean, North Africa, Pacific. Suggesting they have more military might than Russia and NATO combined. We know that CSAT provoked the Altis civil war to lure Task Force Aegis there and sow discord among the UN. We know they were researching biological and geoengineering weapons. In ARMA 3 campaign, NATO relies on the UK and AAF for logstics on their operation, there is not a single US carrier available in the Meditteranean for more than a month and when it does arrive, it requires to take over Malden to stage the counteroffensive on Altis. Suggesting something really bad happened in the United-States. We know that NATO was already fighting CSAT backed syndicate in Tanoa and that the bulk of NATO forces were on Tanoa, and there were not a lot of NATO forces on Tanoa. In 2035, Livonia (a country that was entirely destroyed/evacuated as suggested in Day Z Livonia) was ''visited'' by extraterrestrials that begun their journey thousands of years ago (for some unknown reason) to arrive at Livonia the exact day of ''Exercise Electron'' wich was a join NATO/Livonia/Russia/Poland exercise to test new EM technology meant to ''rebuild'' Livonia's military (for some reason). Livonia's military wich is unusually large and well equipped for a nation of wooden shacks and endless forests in the north of Poland. In 2038 there was an outbreak of a ''superstrain'' of malaria on the pacific island, centered in Tanoa, forcing NATO to abandon the theater entirely... ARMA universe is an insanely underrated iceberg.

I don't think the Infection was a thing in Armaverse. There is no mention of it anywhere in Arma 3! I mean, what about the "Pandemic" which is at least a continent wide Epidemic? That had started in 2013? The 86% dead? The 2% completely immune? All that sh!t would have immense consequences in the World, imho. Not just rendering the West/NATO weak. According to what we see in the game, South Zagoria was completely destroyed by the Pandemic. In Arma 3, Charnarus somewhat works with CSAT, but I guess it could manage without the region. Could THAT really happen only there? Livonia? The Nadbór, the region of country called Livonia we see in Contact and Livonia DLC, to be precise? About the same picture like Zagoria, but does that region in Contact look like it went through things we see in Livonia DLC? Genuine question, I didn't play Contact yet. However, I do think the whole world was "sent back to Stone Age" by the outbreak like we see in DayZ. It is just Alternate-Armaverse.

In the Contact DLC, the spetznaz deployed to ''contain'' the visitors are a special CBRN team that NATO never heard of, when you first intercept comms from spetznaz using the radio thingy and have subtitles, they say something along the lines of ''We have been preparing for this since Chernarus, remember your training'' There was no CSAT prior to DayZ, the ARMA 3 lore took a supernatural turn in good part because of the creation of DayZ. There is a dozen huge bioweapon labs (the big white domes) on Altis and a device that causes earthquakes. There is also mention of an uncontrolled pandemic around the earth in the APEX dlc video as well as in the main story of Old Man DLC. The background lore of ARMA 3 was left vague for a reason, Bohemia intended for ARMA3 to be community based and most DLCs include community content creators.
@@rexxmen Well, Bohemia Interactive is Czezch based and their CEO is a controversial nationalist, as such, a lot of the scenarios in the armaverse are an expression of his nationalism and more precisely, the fear of russian aggression. The games are meant to be a sort of warning as to what might happen if NATO (all armaverse games protagonists are part of NATO) underestimate the risk of russian aggression as seen through Marek Španěl's object-ideology. Furthermore, in ARMA2 Combined Arms the Chernarus Defense Force become the core of the UN mission along with UK Royal Marines, Czezch special forces and ION mercenaries indicating the desire to limit NATO interventions for these kind of conflicts as it would escalate into something never seen before.
This is very cool for a dayz nerd like me who never had access to Arma...My faction is now 100% НАПА (National party)and flies their flag and armbands. ✊️
arma 3 takes place 20 years after the first infection, this could have went back to normal at this point the washington map is a mod created by a community member, not the devs everything in the video is straight from the game. expcept the last part, which is speculation on what caused the virus

I thought the outbreak has something to do with aliens. In the last Arma 3 dlc there is a alien ship which destroys a huge industrial building an you can find that building at livonia. So the Storys are linked.

The deer stand locations means something more sinister in the Green Mountain Transmission. They were sending civilians to be shot by snipers

Facility A-1 was connected to the root system, A-2 was assisting facility A-1, object A-3 was the most isolated and the most secret facility of them all and served as a complex where top secret research was taking place.
In april of 2011, Russia completely lost the connection with Namalsk. Other countries also began to express their worries about Namalsk experiments and NAC began to hide their investors and investment which did not do any good to their relation with Russia, which Moscow took as a provocation. On the second of June, 2011 - Namalsk reinforced their security even more because of the Russian invasion that most likely will take place. Object A-1 at that time was ready to be used to protect Namalsk and their scientific research. On July 9th Russians invaded Namalsk and took the northern island to establish surveillance of the southern islands. On July 10th NAC we're ready to use A-1 to repel the Russian attack by using a EVR-Strom. At the 6:14 NAC used A-1 in offencive which created a huge blackout at Bering sea area they made Russian retreat by having extremely high casualties on both sides. On the next day NATO joins the conflicts by attacking the A-1 facility and later a rocket struck the same site from the SKAT-12 Russia submarine. On July 12 US assault troops landed at object A-2 but we're taken prisoner. Later the same day Russain and NATO forces decided to leave the archipelago, butin result of NAC declining to stop their research at 7:47 a nuclear ballistic missle was lauched from the SKAT-12 aimed at the Athena-1 facility. The NAC personal was ready to create what they've been trying to do all those years and created a portal that absorbed most of the nuclear warhead energy and sent it to the unknown before planet - "Latvia". They sent the energy in the world of the aliens the same ones that created the roots NAC been researching this whole time. The energy that wasn't absorbed by the portal was enough to destroy the whole complex that was located under A-1 facility, but that did not stopped NAC to abandon their research in A-2 and A-3. Durning next week Russian forces did took the remaining facilities but on 21st of July they were driven off Namalsk by the unknown organization. After those unforeseen events it was clarified that the organization CSAT was the main investor of the NAC, either CSAT were just using NAT as a cover up (since NAC is classified as sub-organization). In the whole world CSAT was viewed mostly as a hostile organization and NATO with Russia had mostly the same opinion on it, and at that point it wasn't really a secret that CSAT had a really strong interest in the root systems for the unknown reasons. Later CSAT took over the root core on Namalsk and continued their research. Aftee next few months unknown space object was spotted within the solar system and was heading towards earth, after flying very closely near the earth the alien ship detached it's capsules and sent it toward earth. The capsules landed at the root system core in Guangxin, China, killing millions. On the same day there been numerous reports about very dangerous airborne virus. The roots system absorbed the virus and began to distribute it to the other 10 root cores, next core happened to be under Namalsk. After researching the virus NAC gave it a name - "VEGA-7", unfortunately most of the residents and scientific personal did not survive. The third core was located either in Siberia or Chernarus. The forth core was located in the Livonia, but during that time in the Livonia's bunker was created a gas which is able to destroy the whole virus structure and affect the roots negatively.
(There's happen to be a theory about the virus existence from the same moment aliens planted the root seeds within the earth, but that virus was completely safe for humans and did nothing but to search for the weak spots in our body for the actual VEGA-7. Which makes sense since the character we play as in dayz is immune to it)

I'm pretty sure ground zero is northern/north-eastern part of a map, since the coordinates given by message of Green Mountain point out deerstands, that strangely enough create a defensive perimeter in the south-western quadrant of a map and I'm pretty sure the ones responsible for outbreak are remnants of Chedaki, since NAPA has gotten rid of radicals. One Reddit theory suggested the ground zero was Khelm, but it's too south to fit the location. I'd say something has to be about that northern Krasnostav military base not even marked on tourist maps, but then there's a tourist trail nearby... Maybe it's even further north, in Novodmitrovsk maybe?
I agree that the Chedaki had something to do with the outbreak, then things got out of hand. I really wanna say it started at the Military Base at Kamensk given the history of the underground section.
Now what about the wrecked ship on the northeast coast? Could that be ground zero? Containers on the ship could of been holding some spooky shit. I also have not watched the full video yet just scrolling comments.
I personally believe it goes like this but you be the judge, this takes place in an alternate timeline where an event similar to "Eagle Strike" from the ArmA 2 campaign happens where the Chedaki Forces used chemical and biological weapons against the CDF forces as a last ditch stand to fight against them as things ramp up against Russians and the US. Soon enough, an outbreak caused by the weapons would have had the big players trying to help contain the outbreak but due to them being in an already weakened state (the CDF having lost a lot of equipment and manpower to the Chedaki Forces, the US losing Razor Team who was tasked in taking down the Chedakis and the Russians who lost equipment as well) would have been defeated by the infection. The underground bunker maybe used as a testing site by the Chedakis before they killed the infected after testing the effectiveness of the weapon.
I like to think Rify shipwreck started it.. one of the factions was transporting it as a bio weapon, the ship crashed in a storm, the gas created zombies on the ship, the zombies infected Chernarus.
It makes sense to me as when you go into the gas, the first thing that happens is you start to bleed, alluding to some kind of bubons or skin lesions, then you get a fever.
It is covered in toxic gas now!!
Maybe the military drops poisonous gas on it to stop people from going to it and finding out the truth

My story is I'm with 2 others in chernarus trying to survive the unforgiving world doing whatever we can to survive, the first night was scary by myself, my 2 buddies found me and we where on the road for a while eventually we found a place we can call home (our story is still continuing)

My Origin story for the infection, it starts from Namalsk! The plane which used to be in Cherno center, crashed Via infected in the plane which crashed to the window, which rapidly spread from cherno all the way to Tisy. Rapidly the First infected would die off from the virus due the infections life cycle. and it would only spread via bites or soft tissues. but you are the lucky 2% who is completly immune to the virus, even bites cant turn you into infected.
Lol, I just discovered your Namalsk vid and was checking out the comments. I was wondering if you ever got around to the Chernarus vid, damn near perfect timing for me. I just got back into Dayz after about a year break due to my friend having lost his job due to the virus =[ He and his wife had to move in with his parents so he just doesn't have time for games anymore sadly. I was having a real hard time getting back into it due to it just not being the same without him and then I saw Namalsk. It looked so freaking cool to me and I decided to give it a chance. I'm having so much fun playing on the hard-core servers and I'm looking forward to the other maps I missed out on.

The first bigger city after coming from the German border in the Czech Republic is "Decin" if you drive from Dresden to Prag by train... its just on the other side from the train tracks over the river elbe... Located in an German and Czech border crossing area known as the Elb(e)-Sandstein Mountains... as a DayZ player you know this as a famous cost city in chernarus.. this train line is known as one of the most beautiful train routes to travel in Europe... You also drive through "Usti nad Labem" another well known city in chernarus...

Not sure we should consider Namalsk canon.
I mean, all things Namalsk (with a lot of inspiration elsewhere (Stalker mostly) and easter eggs) were made by Sumrak, who is currently the "CEO of DayZ", but he's been on that position for only few years now.
Namalsk was also a thing way before DayZ mod, about one year, making it two separate entities.
I'm, of course, talking about the original Namalsk for Arma 2, not DayZ Standalone.
Actually I didn't get to explore Namalsk here that much yet to see how they merged together. Same with the Arma 3 Contact DLC.
Don't get me wrong, I love Sumrak! Did for a decade now.

The helicopters and air strikes are "probably" an attempt to take back Chernarus and other countries from the infected. I debated on adding this to the video, but in the end decided against it. :(

However, in the Lore I've written, for an RP server, they were helped by activists, who released the Infected from quarantines. Guess they were also among the military too. Went blue on blue, creating even more chaos causing the Downfall.

I like to think Dayz was a result of the EW campaign in Arma 2. Makes sense why you don’t find many military vehicles or weapons since they fled or got destroyed

ARMA 3 Contact DLC happens in Livonia 2035. This suggests the outbreak was dealt with in the future. The outbreak could be the mysterious event that created CSAT and made it the bigger powerblock in 2030, maybe they somehow found a way to eradicate it or had an ''off'' switch. Maybe that part of the world was completely wiped out or maybe it is still roamed around by clueless freshies.
What is very clear in ARMA 3 is that something happened that made NATO be the inferior powerblock, and China/Iran/India became the dominant force. Russia operates in Europe as an ally while CSAT is in 3 theaters, Mediteranean, North Africa, Pacific. Suggesting they have more military might than Russia and NATO combined.
We know that CSAT provoked the Altis civil war to lure Task Force Aegis there and sow discord among the UN. We know they were researching biological and geoengineering weapons.
In ARMA 3 campaign, NATO relies on the UK and AAF for logstics on their operation, there is not a single US carrier available in the Meditteranean for more than a month and when it does arrive, it requires to take over Malden to stage the counteroffensive on Altis. Suggesting something really bad happened in the United-States.
We know that NATO was already fighting CSAT backed syndicate in Tanoa and that the bulk of NATO forces were on Tanoa, and there were not a lot of NATO forces on Tanoa.
In 2035, Livonia (a country that was entirely destroyed/evacuated as suggested in Day Z Livonia) was ''visited'' by extraterrestrials that begun their journey thousands of years ago (for some unknown reason) to arrive at Livonia the exact day of ''Exercise Electron'' wich was a join NATO/Livonia/Russia/Poland exercise to test new EM technology meant to ''rebuild'' Livonia's military (for some reason). Livonia's military wich is unusually large and well equipped for a nation of wooden shacks and endless forests in the north of Poland.
In 2038 there was an outbreak of a ''superstrain'' of malaria on the pacific island, centered in Tanoa, forcing NATO to abandon the theater entirely...

However, I do think the whole world was "sent back to Stone Age" by the outbreak like we see in DayZ. It is just Alternate-Armaverse.

In the Contact DLC, the spetznaz deployed to ''contain'' the visitors are a special CBRN team that NATO never heard of, when you first intercept comms from spetznaz using the radio thingy and have subtitles, they say something along the lines of ''We have been preparing for this since Chernarus, remember your training''
There was no CSAT prior to DayZ, the ARMA 3 lore took a supernatural turn in good part because of the creation of DayZ. There is a dozen huge bioweapon labs (the big white domes) on Altis and a device that causes earthquakes. There is also mention of an uncontrolled pandemic around the earth in the APEX dlc video as well as in the main story of Old Man DLC.
The background lore of ARMA 3 was left vague for a reason, Bohemia intended for ARMA3 to be community based and most DLCs include community content creators.
The Livonia DLC is a non-canon third party DLC
@@rexxmen Well, Bohemia Interactive is Czezch based and their CEO is a controversial nationalist, as such, a lot of the scenarios in the armaverse are an expression of his nationalism and more precisely, the fear of russian aggression. The games are meant to be a sort of warning as to what might happen if NATO (all armaverse games protagonists are part of NATO) underestimate the risk of russian aggression as seen through Marek Španěl's object-ideology.
Furthermore, in ARMA2 Combined Arms the Chernarus Defense Force become the core of the UN mission along with UK Royal Marines, Czezch special forces and ION mercenaries indicating the desire to limit NATO interventions for these kind of conflicts as it would escalate into something never seen before.
