Found another good hangout spot for Brown Hare. Northeast of the cabin, there's a footpath that crosses a shallow pool. On the southwestern edge of the pool, the path touches land for about 40 yards before becoming a walkway again. Got my first Brown Hare just off that short dirt stretch.
I has figured out, Go hunt during rainy and save your scent killer. You don’t need scent killer and got them close around 30 yards and spooky around 20 yards. CTR in at NE area and JRH at northwest near pond also everywhere at southern area. Both are in Roosevelt. Don’t need dog or can bring pointer. Beagle… meh barking to scare rabbits away. Best to hunt during rainy and any time slots.
I get my brown hares in the czheck marshlands on the east bank of the the large lake that is furthest east of the center of the map. Sometimes between that lake and the two smaller lakes to the west. In the afternoon time period I get them around the campsite northeast of there.
Thank you for your comment! It was faster than I thought. How long it takes can vary and depends heavily on how lucky you are with the animal spawn. I got some of them on the first try, others took longer. On average, I would say five to ten attempts per species should be enough to get one.
Thank you for your comment! I guess there are other places to find them, especially in the desert. But I never cared about that because the location in the video worked great and fast.
Btw I found more locations in Roosevelt, caught 3 at Northeast area and go to the tip of river then head east. U’ll found lots of cotton tail tracks over there. I brought pointer and help lots. Also Moose and Black bear is there too.
@@Raikon316 Yes there are several places to find the animals. For the video I picked what I think are the easiest and fastest to repeat spots. For me personally small game hunting is rather annoying, I wanted to get the trophies as quickly as possible.
I probably spent more time on the snowshoe hare then all the other animals combined. And only seen one other rabbit but couldn't get a shot. I CANNOT get that close even though I'm wearing same gear and crouched walking like I'm on lithium. Do you bother with the odor mask? Doesn't seem like it lasts long enough for a hunt. Only when you got an animal coming in and you don't want them to flee from your scent.
Thank you for your comment! For me, the rabbits and hares were one of the most annoying experiences in HS2. Sometimes it works quite well to get close enough to them, sometimes not at all. The scent blocker and wind powder can help a bit, but when the wind is unfavorable it is often very difficult. I made a lot of attempts until I collected all the rabbits as trophies for the lodge, and then all over again for the video. With a lot of patience, endless attempts and after a lot of cursing it works. If you know the locations to find the animals you can at least start and repeat many attempts in a relatively short time, that makes it a little easier.
Im lookign for whatever type of RABBIT is in roosevelt forest. You only touched on the jackrabbit hares, but do you have any idea where the RABBITS are there and what type it is???
Thank you for your comment and this interesting question! The rabbits in Roosevelt Forest are cotton-tails. When placing a marker on the map you can choose the matching icon. I saw them sometimes near the river at several locations but I never hunted for them on this map because it´s simply not efficient in the dense vegetation. Since I don´t enjoy small game and rabbit hunting that much I prefer the easier option to find cotton tails in Bandera Region.
Thank you for your comment! The frustrating part is that these animals are so nervous. I'm sure I scared off countless rabbits before I knew they were around. The key is to sneak extremely careful and let the dog sit at a safe distance. I don't understand why the developers didn't include a small caliber for small game. There is no reason from a hunting ethics standpoint to only allow shotguns and bows. Be patient and keep trying, you only need one of each species and that's it for the achievement.
@@Thund3rtheHunter Ye a 22lr would have been perfect but no, i feel like they made it painful on purpose, sort of a challenge I changed graphics quality to the lowest so there is no grass anymore and i can see clearly to a long distance but still no luck, i got the white one but that is all
@@MAGA2024. When absolutely nothing shows up it's kind of weird and suspicious. You could try changing the timeslot, sometimes that can help if the animal spawns are abnormal.
@@MAGA2024. I tried it again myself a few minutes ago. On the Marshlands map in the first attempt several rabbits around the northwestern tower and hares behind the forest in the west. In Bandera region also in the first attempt a Cottontail on the plateau near the tent. In Roosevelt Forest in the first attempt I ran into a moose, in the second attempt a jackrabbit was hopping around in the same place. During the recording for the video all places were repeatable, technically this should also work for you.
At the time I made the video, the european rabbits were pretty easy. But I'll check the spot again to see if anything has changed. They usually hop around the western tower in czechia marshlands and it's very easy to get one for the lodge.
Yes, I've seen that quite often. Some animals like the bear species always look the same, apart from the legendary spawns. But other animals such as foxes, elk and the bighorn sheep frequently have slight differences in their fur variants, even with the normal spawns.
The european rabbit or the brown hare? If second, I can say that I see them frequently around and in the small forest near the eastern tent. Maybe changing the timeslot will help to reset the animal spawns.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I can confirm that they can be found there, I recently shot several at the location to maybe find a legendary specimen. It may help to play around with the timeslots when no animals spawn, I do that frequently and it usually helps.
To get close, low visibility clothing is very helpful. It takes some practice, but with the right equipment and no dog around, it shouldn't be a problem.
Could anyone explain a little more on the European rabbit, I still can’t find it. Or if anyone knows more videos that help explain the European rabbit better because no matter what I do I can’t get the European rabbit.
Back then it was officially confirmed that there are no legendary spawns for hares & rabbits and for ducks & geese. I think it was a Twitter post or a post in the Steam forums of HS2.
I'm not 100% sure anymore, but if I remember correctly the normal foxes didn't have black accents in their fur when the game was released and before the legendary patch. The patch slightly changed fur patterns on all animals, probably to color the legendary ones a bit different with low effort. I remember the first hunt after the patch, I shot a red deer and was surprised that the fur looked different than usual, but it was just a normal specimen and not a legendary one.
@@Thund3rtheHunter look I hunt rabbit in Roosevelt forest, I can't find him, but, when I hunt him I see 3 moose, 3 bears, 1 puma, 4 deer. I don't know, why creators don't make rabbit call ,because hunt on they so hard.
@@Охотаирыбалка-хобби It was even harder when the game was released. They made it a bit easier in one of the first patches. But the rabbits are still insanely fast. The game lacks a legal small caliber rifle to hunt for them over longer distances.
That's true, I also spent more time on it than I wanted to. Personally, I'm not really interested in small game, it was all about filling the trophy slots in the lodge.
