You are doing a lovely job. Nicely and calmly explained (all those times in court paying off) . I can't help saying about your dogs, wonderful behaviour, walking along the road on their joined lead excellent. See you again!
It’s interesting comparing your costs with other boaters I think some of the 55plus TH-camrs are saying around double say 5k Pa. Plus marina fees. Etc. it’s great when you guys are happpy to share your coatings I would certainly like to give a go in the future well done and Thanks 👍
@alangoffin3599 yes I agree. I watch a lot of other boaters costing videos, and it makes me wonder why it costs them sometimes double what I spend? Maybe they include their food in the costings? The fuel boat was here today, and I got 100 litres of diesel (£1.08 ltr), a 13kg gas bottle, and 2 bags of logs. Total cost £165. The diesel and gas will last a couple of months before I have to restock them, and the logs a couple of weeks
I think a lot of the variations are to do with boat size, and type of energy used, solar, coal, diesel. Most add food and drink too and some add car usage.
@geobolt8788 The nearer to London you get the more expensive it becomes. A marina near Tring in Hertfordshire charges around £600 a month for a residential mooring. Council tax is around 2k a year for the area. A marina about 10 miles down the canal nearer to London and Hemel Hempstead charges around £800 a month for a residential mooring. Leisure moorings are around half that monthly cost. The more facilities a marina has, I.e. toilets, showers, wash machines, club houses, cafes etc the more expensive they become. I hope to do a video early next year about living on a marina, so keep a look out for that one
Is the UK state pension £1,000 per month, week or fortnight? In total shock how much coal, wood, petrol costs in comparison to Ireland which is much cheaper.
Definatley cheaper my council tax single person reduction in a 2 bed house rural essex still nearly 2650 a year today got my utility bill in for gas and electric 340 a month water is around for both bills 265 a year maintance is around 4 k a year plus now paying 1250 a week as had to move to a hospice as have stage 4 cancer savings draining after working all my life from 14 yrs old until 68 then got the big c
Does it remind of the saying rip off Britain. I was born and brought up on a narrow I left the canals at 72 years of age. Because of health issues.. I still have friends living on their boats that are in their eighty's how they manage with the ever increasing costs is beyond me.. But there again it's cheaper than renting somewhere to live.. At the moment my water and council rates are over £4500.00. A year. Gas and electric is around £2000.00 a year. And is set to rise again.??? Unfortunately the c r t .don't give a reduced rate for pensioners.. I don't know if you are a pensioner but from what I can gather people who live on a narrow boat are still entitled to the winter fuel payment. Just the same as what are know as the travelers. I e people who live in caravans.. If you are on the state pension I would look into this.. Who ever coined the phrase rip off Britain was definitely right. Anyway keep yourself safe and well mate. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
@narrowboatliving8241 I would check to see if you are going to get it this year. As a few of my friends have received it as they still live on a narrow boat.?

You can be residential on some leisure moorings if you spend part of the year away from there 🦆💕
@pamcullen537 yes i agree, but you don't get a residential address with a leisure mooring, which is what people want
Hello Sir..Nice sharing..will you be decorating your beautiful boat for Christmas 🎅 😊

For some reason as a new pensioner I am getting 880.00 a month
@belindax4897 UK state pensions are paid every 4 weeks so you would be getting slightly less that the monthly amount
@belindax4897 pensions are paid every 4 weeks. £220.20 x 4 equals £884.80
