Australia 7 Day Rain & Temp trends as NSW gets downpours

- NSW has plenty of downpours/showers on the way but sadly VIC and TAS miss out on much of the action. SA is on the edge of it - and while mostly dry in the days ahead some thunderstorms or showers may brush northern outback parts of SA.
Over in WA it’s cooler in the south with some showers but mostly dry around Perth area. And further north it’s even hotter, sunnier and drier with highs still in the mid 30s most days.
The top of Australia is also quite dry and settled - coastal showers only brushing most parts of FNQ and NT. Coastal QLD down to Brisbane is more showery but inland areas are mostly dry.
We have your 7 day rainfall map too.
Temperature wise not much change with the set up so predictable - but some places are in frost territory tonight, while others have cooler changes in the mix.
Today’s FlightSim flyover Place of the Day is “Leigh Creek” in SA. - บันเทิง
Hands down the best weather available. Thank you.
We’re on the southern Tablelands in FNQ, an this incessant rain and wind is having a terrible effect on trees, crops and animals. The higher altitude means we’re much more dependant on sun to warm things up and dry everything out, and it’s just not happening.
That combined with the constant quagmire conditions results in disease for many trees (eg all kinds of root and leaf rot and rust proliferate) and animals (eg hoof rot) , and of course lots of mould and mildew growth in the homes. This a lot more than annoying. Based on our rainfall charts, we’re lucky to get one sunny day in every 7 or 8 days since the start of the year. You croweaters; send you dry weather to north QLD and you can have our insane wet!!!!!
The government records (BOM) are a joke. The record coldest temperatures for high altitude tropical QLD rival the coldest in all of Australia. Our property record is -16C (yes…that’s a minus) and as low as -19C for the local Ravenshoe area. We’ve had enough of being lied to by these overpaid parasites.
Thanks for such clear explanations Phil, and enjoyed your passion about our planet without soil. You sure know how to make.a weather forecast interesting!
Cheers from the wet Sunny Coast QLD
best weather info out there. Thanks Phil
As been to the Flinders Ranges many times and love the place. Piece and quiet and great night skies.
Newcastle here, been very wet the past month, much needed after having a dry end to summer
Hi Phil, love your weather maps. Here at Wallsend, a western suburb of Newcastle we've had a few showers again this morning with some glimpses of blue sky. Not raining at the moment. My garden is soaked.
The flinders ranges are beautiful Phil! I saw your Dame Kiri in the flinders about 35 years ago for the first Opera in the Outback. It was a magical evening. And thank you for this weather update and here’s hoping we WILL get some rain at last in Adelaide😝🥰👌
Great insights Weather-Dad!😊
😂
😅😂❤
Toowoomba…love the rain.
In Sydney and so sick of this rain bro! PS love your work and great explanation of El Nino and La Nina recently
G'day Phillip 🙋♀️
My mother-in-law lives in Newcastle area at Warners Bay NSW & she's "sick of the rain"..I keep telling her if only I had that woe 🌧🙏🌧🙏🌧
Excellent, thank you 😊
Good morning Cape York Queensland here 30c windy dry season
Hi Phil. Love your program. I live in the Victorian high country. Mornings have been foggy and cold, just above zero, but the days have been sunny and mild. We had -4° on Anzac Day, today was 2°. We've had intermittent showers but the farmers could use more. The weather has allowed a lot of planned control burns in the national parks. This has meant a lot of lingering smoke in the valleys.
I'm from FNQ and just spent a few days in Melbourne and I have gotta say the lack of humidity was so nice.
Thanks Phil from regional Victor Harbor SA. Always impressed with your thorough forecasting.
Love the Flinders fly over. We did that a few years ago on a Lake Eyre fly over. Light plane so not quite as much altitude but highly recommend all the same.
Thanks again for your presentation.
Here in Sydney, the weather is showery and making the weeds grow fast. Fortunately, the showers are not close together, so I have been able to weed between.
Good to see the Torres Strait on the weather map, thank you!
Hi Phil, Moreton bay islands has been for past week or so scattered showers patches of sunshine. The winds bit south easterly not too bad. Love your channel. Cheers
Thankyou Phil.
Thanks Phil from a dreary, damp but still warmish Coffs Harbour. I’ve learned so much about the weather and how it all ties in together from your videos! See you next week.
Great suns out in Newcastle right now but not for long according to your report thanks it's good to know what's coming but Newcastle already has too much rain actually Cameron Park on the Hills too wettt
Brisbane, yes these easterly airflows are largely nuisance value Phil. Last couple of months had a few decent downpours but rest is hit and miss light showers. Loving the cooler temperatures but looking forward to more stable weather patterns.
No mowing next week either, another week off 😂
Thank you, Phil.
Just north of Melbourne, dry, but bl##dy beautiful.
Friday update. Foggy and cold.😯
I live Northern nsw near Byron Bay
We have had almost 1 metre of rain in the last month
It's becoming a joke, and I can't get any work done as the ground is just so wet.
Hi Phillip, Boonooroo / Tuan over 500mm last 2 months. The ground is saturated and no chance to dry out, maybe next week hopefully. Thanks for the very informative weekly forecast, much appreciated.
Hey Phil we live in Lockhart river Queensland and have a new job to go to on the tablelands we are just waiting for the rivers to drop for a safe move out…… when is the rain going to ease up for us 🤔it’s been a long wait..we have cabin fever 😂😂 Thanks Love your forecasts 👍❤️🧚♀️
We've had enough rain here in Burrum Heads thanks. A little dry weather would be nice then we'll be complaining how dry it is and be wishing for rain again. :)
Mate, your forecast, especially your layman’s terms of what is happening weather wise is exceptional. Thanks
Tassie South South West dry.
God bless 👍
majestical as usaul cheers
We love watching your summaries. Always informative and the explanations of why it's happening are excellent. Keep up the good work.
Splendid Thankyou. Its been cloudy with brief sunshine, not much rain. Pleasant night temps and 20-25C daily. Gorgeous time of year! Cheers Mallanganee!
I think that I commented a week or so ago, on the NSW Central Coast around the 1st week of April I had 293 mls of rain over a 48 hour period and 1 week later 56 mls in about 40 mins. Tuesday night / Wednesday morning this week 77mls and 15.5 last night, so it's been a very wet month here.
In Woodford Qld we just a 10min shower at 1pm.
Since the 28th of March it's been mostly wet. Yes it's diving me nuts 👍
In my little patch in the southern highlands west of Nowra, the south easterlies drives endless drizzle and cold humid air up over the Morton National Park. Miserable, but it keeps the garden happy, I suppose.
Love watching the land go past from an aeroplane
Screaming out for rain on Kangaroo Island SA
And for some time now too :(
Brilliant as usual Phil.
5:05 Dry and warm (for the most part) during the day in Caboolture, we get the odd downpour at night with mild temps for sleeping
Almost one of my favourite weather updates. Nicely.
Like your weather forecast
I am from Buntine in Western Australia wheat belt
We have just had enough rain to get the crop germinated since Tuesday
We had 78 mm in March which has made a big difference
Cheers Mark
At Medowie just out of Newcastle NSW.....141mm in last three days. Very wet and still showery. Your forecast was spot on.
Appreciate the feedback! That's a decent drenching.
It's been really nice the cooler temperatures it's been one of the hottest and most humid summers in northern rivers nsw I can remember
Thanks again for the work your doing your NZ forecasts are great with the Pacific maps it's nice to see them as far as long range pulses of swell from south of Fuji between you guys it looks like your east coast is enjoying the juice now
Thank you from a new subscriber
Thank you!!
Great work to Phil and the team, I live Casino NSW and operate an excavator near Byron bay. When it rains I can’t work, bit frustrating. But what can you do? Mother Nature!👍
Live on the Gold Coast so over the rain need a long dry stretch so I can get my roof repaired (tradie son can only do it on the weekend when he’s got some spare time
Hi Phillip, Toowoomba qld. Autographing uplift means at 500mtr above sea level.
Grounds wet , low evaporation in shaded zones. Sun exposure like grain crops. Irrigation ideation used. No rain have feeling were in for 10 years draught.
Love air views.
Research there was a mnt range higher than Himalayas that corroded away to Uluru and his mate.
Chow
Awesome - love knowing stuff like that, thank you!
Morning Phillip top forecast thanks.. Toowoomba a few sleet type spots rain.
Shalom
Hi Phil thanks for you excellent weather program. I live in between Kempsey and Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast NSW. These showers have not added up to much here 4mm yesterday the 1st May. We had 216mm for April. best wishes T.
Thanks for the numbers. That's quite a wet April!
I live in Cranebrook, just 5 - 10 km north of Penrith in the far western suburbs of the Sydney basin on the eastern side of the Nepean River - the western side is the start of the blue mountains & we have been mostly dry with cloudy days & just the odd spit of rain, just enough to dampen the road but the garden remains dry & you wouldn't even get wet if you stood in it. Any storms etc pass by to the south of us over Penrith city centre, so my son who lives there gets lots of storms to take photos off whilst we mostly don't even hear the thunder. So I am interested to see what happens on Sunday - will we or won't we get some rain? 😂
I'm about 50 min drive south of Bundaberg.
It's so green. Georgious.
There's a breeze most days. Sometimes windy, gusty.
A wonderful place for weather.
Hi Phil
Lismore on far north coast of NSW. Walking in water in the paddocks, cattle looking average, sooooo Wet. 4 inches last weekend and another over Thursday night. Over it
West Sydney Metro. Saw Gray Green clouds and got moderate rain for a few minute
Yes, could do with a break from the east coast rain, but so thankful not to be flooding. Northern Rivers, NSW
Great as always Phil, I have had enough rain, still have puddles every where in the western Downs qld
Sunshine Coast has been wet for months, every day there has been showers, the ground is saturated. Since January we have had 1200mm
That's about the same amount we get in Auckland in a year!
Seemingly stuck in the east coast showers. A little frustrating to see that constant blue shaded area over SE Qld. Thanks Phil and the WWNZ team. BOM don’t have the passion or the human interest aspect in their forecasts at all. Appreciate you all
The clouds in Sydney have been moving in high & low strange patterns it’s not normal …
The weather is a mixture of pattern and chaos :)
Sat afternoon in western Sydney there's dark clouds & the bureau are forecasting heavier showers into Sat night & throughout Sunday easing later on Monday to a shower or 2 , since last Tuesday it's been cloudy with odd showers temp 21c
South Australia driest state in the driest (inhabited) continent....and it looks like it doesn't it? As Bazza McKenzie might have said, 'dry as a dead dingo's dongler.'
Lol ! :)
Cloudy in Townsville not much rain at all now thank god, Temps cooling down, roughly 29 highs and 21 lows
G’day Phil, some of the weather channels here are predicting the formation of an Eastcoast low on Sunday or Monday? Just wondering what your thoughts were regards 🎉Rob Mc-South West Rocks
It's possible - or at least more rain. Take a look at our NZ video on Friday to double check (as we'll cover eastern Aussie)
Nearly 30 inches since the beginning of February here on the Capricorn coast, and not much sun, very sick of it.
Next update 9/5/24
I live in Ingham qld we have had over 2000mm for the year so far
Perth in Tas? and Denmark in WA? I've known enough Kiwis to know when one of them is having a lend of me
Google it! :)
Dry as a Bone mid country.
No rain since January 24th...
How is it that WeatherWatchTV has more rigor when it come to Australia's weather bureau. Sadly the Weather status in Australia has a one day forecast.
expat from Westport here living on the southcoast nsw, well the weather is shit bud no good for the solar!.
No one actually knows where Bourke is mate, so don't sweat the pronunciation. "Back of Bourke" is a saying for an unspecified remote location. I've also heard "Bourke and back", which I think means someone was in the middle of nowhere, but has returned to civilization
Haha! Love it
Just when you would get your fist frost in Torrington NSW 2371, the reality of global warming shows up to remind you that it is actually May in 2024
