Australia 7 Day Rain & Temp trends as NSW gets downpours

  • NSW has plenty of downpours/showers on the way but sadly VIC and TAS miss out on much of the action. SA is on the edge of it - and while mostly dry in the days ahead some thunderstorms or showers may brush northern outback parts of SA.
Over in WA it’s cooler in the south with some showers but mostly dry around Perth area. And further north it’s even hotter, sunnier and drier with highs still in the mid 30s most days.
The top of Australia is also quite dry and settled - coastal showers only brushing most parts of FNQ and NT. Coastal QLD down to Brisbane is more showery but inland areas are mostly dry.
We have your 7 day rainfall map too.
Temperature wise not much change with the set up so predictable - but some places are in frost territory tonight, while others have cooler changes in the mix.
Today’s FlightSim flyover Place of the Day is “Leigh Creek” in SA.

We’re on the southern Tablelands in FNQ, an this incessant rain and wind is having a terrible effect on trees, crops and animals. The higher altitude means we’re much more dependant on sun to warm things up and dry everything out, and it’s just not happening.
That combined with the constant quagmire conditions results in disease for many trees (eg all kinds of root and leaf rot and rust proliferate) and animals (eg hoof rot) , and of course lots of mould and mildew growth in the homes. This a lot more than annoying. Based on our rainfall charts, we’re lucky to get one sunny day in every 7 or 8 days since the start of the year. You croweaters; send you dry weather to north QLD and you can have our insane wet!!!!!
The government records (BOM) are a joke. The record coldest temperatures for high altitude tropical QLD rival the coldest in all of Australia. Our property record is -16C (yes…that’s a minus) and as low as -19C for the local Ravenshoe area. We’ve had enough of being lied to by these overpaid parasites.

Hi Phil. Love your program. I live in the Victorian high country. Mornings have been foggy and cold, just above zero, but the days have been sunny and mild. We had -4° on Anzac Day, today was 2°. We've had intermittent showers but the farmers could use more. The weather has allowed a lot of planned control burns in the national parks. This has meant a lot of lingering smoke in the valleys.

I live in Cranebrook, just 5 - 10 km north of Penrith in the far western suburbs of the Sydney basin on the eastern side of the Nepean River - the western side is the start of the blue mountains & we have been mostly dry with cloudy days & just the odd spit of rain, just enough to dampen the road but the garden remains dry & you wouldn't even get wet if you stood in it. Any storms etc pass by to the south of us over Penrith city centre, so my son who lives there gets lots of storms to take photos off whilst we mostly don't even hear the thunder. So I am interested to see what happens on Sunday - will we or won't we get some rain? 😂
