She’s a bit rough, but definitely worth saving. I bought a 66 coupe about 20 years ago for $1200. I gave it to my daughter as a graduation gift after getting it mechanically sound and having it painted a dark blue with silver stripes. She still has the car. One of her favorite things in life.
@@poormansspeedshop4104 The car is a factory 6 cylinder automatic. It had an older paint job that was faded. Funny, I looked at the ad a week prior, and finally called the guy. He said I was the first person to call him! I’m thinking, ok what am I missing? Went out and looked at it, drove it around for a few miles. Ok, Sold! The kids at my daughters school VoTech body shop class painted it. Kids did a great job!
If the engine and transmission are good and original to the car, keep them with the car. Save up, get the sheet metal and save the car. GT package was available on all body styles. Also back then you could just about check the boxes and customize the car from the factory however you wanted. There were some limitations such as the GT wasn’t available with a 6 cylinder and you couldn’t mate up certain engines with certain transmissions but for the most part you could do what you wanted.
It’s pretty rough but you could always body swap it onto a new mustang or something with same wheelbase. You would actually save money not having to upgrade the suspension or brakes. Possibly the drive train as well
Congratulations guys.. I absolutely love the old man's Avalanche my father had one of those got the built-in coolers in the back plenty of places to stash stuff😂 winning
I use the square foot rule. I pick one square foot of the car and say l can fix that. Then move to the next square foot and say l can fix that. Day after day you begin to see results and eventually forget how bad it w as when you started.
That was my car I have two and the floor pan kits were out there I’m hopeful he didn’t let them go with that cause there for my 289 car Chris is a good guy and honest person we just had a falling out i traded him that for a broke down bmw and got it back on the road. I really believe it’s fixable still and you paid exactly what I gave for it
It’s a really good car still it’s plenty fixable which is what I’m gonna do with it 1967 is my favorite year of mustang Chris is a really good guy I love dealing with him he’s really honest and a really nice guy and ya he kept the floor pans out of the car I’m gonna put a whole floor from front too back
You may not be paying up front for it but you will definitely be paying for it in your time and labor, when you could otherwise be doing other things, and it’ll need lots of that- especially if the torque boxes are rotten. For labor of love that might not even matter though. Otherwise part her out, make back the $1000 plus a bit extra and put that toward one a bit more solid. Follow your heart.
I've done worse, but not with a 6, I've cured that problem too, a v8 parts car helps. if the cowl is bad I would probably look for another car. all that work is better done on a 65-6 with better resale.
Very true the cowl looks ok so far it’s probably not restoring it but it’s here and I probably wouldn’t get close to the 1k I payed for it back out of it so might as well attempt to fix it
Barry your trailer would not tow a car here one for you barry i think should have a mustang build off i lay money barry mustang still wouldn't finished

That’s bad ass was it a factory v8 or 6 cylinder

That cars not that bad, make all parts to repair it. If you really like it go for! 😊
We plan on starting the build this winter
You should see the one Junkyard Digs just exhumed from a barn. Yours is in better shape. Go for it.
Wish mine was a v8 posi car like his

@@BENEVOLENCEMETAL I wish the engine and transmission where original sad thing is they were from a 66 mustang
it is the most beautiful car in the world😍😍😍😍😍😍
Fix it. Also, you could get a GT in a coupe. A friend had one back in the '80s-'90s. A '67 GT coupe with the S code 390.
I did not know that
It’s pretty rough but you could always body swap it onto a new mustang or something with same wheelbase. You would actually save money not having to upgrade the suspension or brakes. Possibly the drive train as well
It would be cool to do that
Looks like you got a Barry special. So minty! 🤣
lol it really dose look like his grate mustangs
😂😂
I would try and save it myself. Restore it definitely
I’m definitely gonna try and save it
Not sure what state you are in. In central NY, this car would look like this at 5 years old!!
Really damn that’s sucks I hear the cars up that way rust bad here in Indiana it’s kinda hit or miss some cars rust worse than others
New sub. Yes fix up the car as you can. good video.
Hell ya that’s the plan to fix it up over the winter months thanks for the sun welcome to the poormansspeedshop family
That thing looks better than anything Barry has in his yard
lol 😂 looks better than his little red mustang
i would say like 5/10 of roughness. its not that bad
It’s not horribly bad we are gonna get on it here really soon
Congratulations guys.. I absolutely love the old man's Avalanche my father had one of those got the built-in coolers in the back plenty of places to stash stuff😂 winning
Thanks my friend my dad loves this avalanche he wants to get a newer one
If you got the money and time fix it
It’s going to take time to fix it up but I think it’s worth it

If you want your 289 mustang fixed lmk we can work out a trade for that 5.0 mustang out at Chris
I would do that I’d love to drive my 289 car see if u can get my phone number from Chris so I can maintain my privacy on you tube if that’s ok
I’ve got another set of doors and fenders also

Your very right I’m gonna dig further in problem is I don’t really think there’s a 1000 dollar worth of parts on the car
Fix it for sure I love these cars
Yep that’s are plan we are starting to get sheet metal for it
the car of my dream that will never come true😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Yes it worth fixing
Yes it is
If you have the time, restor it.
I got time it’s gonna be a really long term project
They sell the whole floor system from front to back one unit
That’s what we will end up putting in this car they are not too expensive

Diamonds 💎 in the rough at least it isent a Barry car that he wouldn’t do nothing with it
Right 😂
Make it a fastback with a fastback converter kit
We very well could if u had money to do that
The car still hooked to the trailer
It’s off the trailer now
Just take your time and fixs it up
That’s the plan it’s going to be a long term project
Go for it bro it’s a challenge
Oh I will bro much love from Indiana
@@poormansspeedshop4104 right on man waving from Florida
Much love from Indiana
I think she wants to live
I think so too
I would say try and save it if not sell it to Barry for two grand
lol 😂 I’ll give it too Barry for free he has to come get it and step in my yard
Fastback conversion
Would be a good candidate for it
I've seen worst. My 57 Oldsmobile was way worse and your replacement panels are far more plentiful.
Its a cool car that needs a lot of love
Hold the brake and give it some gas
lol 😂 didn’t think about that
like i said on your other channel, its nicer than the mustang i dont have. i got a yardful of chryslers
lol 😂 it’s not a bad car
@@poormansspeedshop4104 that engine sounds smooth, man, after it got some oil circulatiing
Build it.Keep the 6
@@samuelgoodman2825 if the engine was original I would have kept it but it was not so we sold it to fund the build
Officially goofy
Thanks lol 😂

lol 😂 Barry won’t do that he’s too scared
68 hubcaps
Really I did not know that are they worth anything
Part it out
I may end up doing that tomorrow I’m gonna dig farther in to the car
Don't know much about cars you still have a strap
It’s in fixable shape
Do it
Oh we will
Do it! It's just a option with the blinkers in t the hood, and yes a gt can be a coupe. Gt with a 6cl. No
