    Nice video, thanks! However now I'm curious: would you please make a video comparison of this vs the Evolution? Which one is the most stable? Which one cuts faster? Which one cuts cleaner? Which one is more precise? I'd love to see it.

    I just noticed you use the parallel fence to the right of the of the blade/disk. Several times I used to that same side I’ve experienced some pinching, not enough for kickback but for shooting out the cut off forward, never happened using the fence to the motor side. Have you ever had the issue? Or has been user error from me? Any advice?

    Hey Dan , M looking for a Bosch machine , which is a jack of all trades, which can cut marble, tiles & wood for making tables in short small diy projects for home.. I don't mind buying different blades for each purpose if available , do u suggest this gks 190 or do u have a better one in mind ? And what blades should I buy ? Thank Dan

    • @PlumbingGy
      @PlumbingGy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi mate, if it's just for home and Diy use I would recommend something like this with a multi purpose blade which are second to none! evolutionpowertools.com/uk/group/st1400/ however if your wanting a more mainstream saw and do not mind switching or spending more on blades I personally prefer the bosch hands down it delivers excellent power more than the Makita or DeWalt saws and depending on what your cutting leaves very clean cuts. Thanks

      Thanks for quick reply.... Probably I didn't tell u i am from India ... So what you shared might be difficult to purchase here due to its unavailability... Thanks for the great vid. Can you use a smaller blade in your Circular saw then the recommended size? Ie Can a Bosch GKS 190mm Circular Saw use a 185mm or 160mm blade? Can it only fit a 30mm saw blade bore diameter?

    • @PlumbingGy
      @PlumbingGy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would only recommend blades that the manufacturer deems fit for use I'm afraid

    • @ian1352
      @ian1352 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about going all the way down to 160mm, but people definitely use slightly smaller blades. As long as the bore size is right the only real downside is reduced cutting depth.

    • @ian1352
      @ian1352 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The specifications state 184mm as the minimum size. It does have to have a 30mm bore. I’ve seen a few 184mm ones that do and come with adapters to fit 20mm and 16mm.

    Would you recommend a battery saw like your dewalt or a corded saw? mainly workshop and can use. TIA

    • @PlumbingGy
      @PlumbingGy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It all depends if it is only for workshop use and van use like u say I would always go corded purely for the consistency and reliability. But if your going to be using it on roofs or high places/ without power then of course I would say battery.
      Batteries tend to lag/ lose power and become unreliable but they are good for quick use.

      You know what Giulio, they all have good positives in their defences however my favourite and now go to saw is the bosch, with it being 240v also it delivers great power and hasn't let me down even the blade provided has stood the test. Just because it requires a mains if it was battery powered like the DeWalt it would mean it will be more portable so up and down ladders roofs lofts that sort of thing would be a lot easier with a battery circular saw rather than a 240 if it's just for home then a 240 is perfectly fine or static on site hope this helps thank you 👍🏻

    I bought this saw 3 years ago. Rarely used and only on softwoods. Recently, while cutting some 25mm thick pine, it started emitting smoke and sparks. I stopped cutting. I then took it into a professional repair shop. The guy said to bin it because Bosch parts are so expensive that it’s cheaper to buy a new one. This is a disgrace for a tool which is touted as Professional Quality. I paid over $390 and got less than 10 hours use out of it. My opinion is that this saw is rubbish but being made in China I guess it’s to be expected. I COULDN’T RECOMMEND IT AT ALL.

    • @ian1352
      @ian1352 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Firstly where it is made is completely irrelevant. If it were made to a low standard that would be because Bosch wanted it that way. However it is pretty much impossible to judge quality based on a single failure since there will always be some.

    • @ian1352
      @ian1352 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s also not unusual for parts to be expensive relative to the price of the whole product.

    • @protonmike
      @protonmike 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ian1352 it's not the first Bosch tool that has failed me and been told it was too expensive to repair. I have replaced all my tools with Festool products. Expensive but outstanding quality and Warranties.

    • @ian1352
      @ian1352 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@protonmike It's pretty typical for parts to be expensive regardless of brand. Festool is unlikely to be any different. As for Bosch I've never seen any evidence they're any more or less durable than equivalently priced products from other brands. I'm not loyal to any brand and simply buy whatever provides the features I require at a price I can afford.
      Additionally my point is that a statement like "being made in China I guess it’s to be expected" is simply nonsense. This everything made in China is junk canard is getting a little pathetic and tiresome.

      I don't know about saws but I always buy bosch power tools and I must say I have a lot of faith in the brand. I've owned a bosch hammer drill for 10 years and it's never given me a single problem. Like someone has said there maybe exceptions but I have a lot more faith in the brand compared to some of the other ones.
