Sorry for commenting two different comments, I know that's rude or spamming, I just didn't think to ask this question until after I made my first comment- You were saying that tidal assault sadly doesn't hit on his own as a 10k hitter without persona ride, but have you tried using a tidal assault in the ride deck? You miss out on Algos value from riding up, but you set up having a tidal assault you can always call out with maelstrom skill so that's a triple attack rg for 2 cb, and it's 15k base, 25k persona ride. If you wanted to theoretically push for even greater numbers you could use tide line dragon with persona ride to make it 35k. At that point I'm also fond of teching in "nectar of sensationalism" for a late-game kill to give it plus hopefully at least 15k, so it'll get the critical too for a triple attack 50k rearguard 2 damage per hit. I know you normally want to call out inlet pulse for the card draw value, but the tidal assault play could be saved for when you're going for the throat instead of trying to hold onto cards to stay alive. It's something I saw someone pull off once and I was blown away! You may have already tested it and found it too inconsistent to want to run, which would be super understandable.
I have seen this play actually! I think it's really funny and definitely can still steal some games. What I mostly don't like about it is that it doesn't really work by itself. Tidal can only triple attack against a G3 vanguard and can't hit all 3 times unless you Persona, play the second judgement, or use the Brave Shooter. Nectar definitely does give the deck some actual kill power but I think the deck already has a lot of problems dead drawing into no shield cards. I think I touch on it a bit in the updated Deck Profile which is coming soon.
@KirbiKnight All very valid points, thank you! I look forward to the deck profile and I'm excited to see Maelstrom in action more! When I built rorowar, I ran into the issue of drawing dead cards in hand so often. It's brutal having 7 cards in hand with only 15k shield because of them being orders and grade 3s XD makes me feel like I've reverted to morikawa days from og vanguard.
@KirbiKnight I also completely misunderstood Maelstroms skill, as I thought it gave 5k power to whatever it called from soul, so that's just on me for not reading properly reading the card, I think I got it confused with the maelstrom order, my apologies!
Any idea where or how they got the Suisei playmat? It looks FIRE 🔥
MAELSTROM RETURNS!!! WOOOOOO
