Xenogears has the best story in games, and one of the best music scores, I'm so happy I managed to overcome old PS1 graphics and clunky controls, and enjoy this amazing game.
yeah the hand drawn sprites aged much better then games that used 3d sprites, even the gears still looks pretty good. but the music and story is what really stands out
I feel like the original Xenogears needs a remake, and bad. I still hold grudges about disk two after all these years. It was rushed, played out more like a slightly interactive cinema adventure and could of been so much more. Yes.

The storyline of this game, seriously. It has 6 of the best scripted villains in the genre. Something about how romantic love solely redeems humanity from suffering? It could be Mitsuda's best work if it weren't how nostalgic and cohesive Crono Cross is. But I finally see what it is, how religious the musical pieces are. The first ending theme "beginning and the end" is praise for humanity. This one is just praise for "us" worshipping nothing other than the fact we made it this far, and these are the two themes, saving humanity by saving ourselves. I'm so glad I played this instead of reading Atlas Shrugged.
I congratulate you in your choice and excellent analysis.. I know is controversial between Xeno fans, but even in its incomplete form I liked Xenosaga, specially Episode III, still damn shame it didnt get the 6 episodes it needed...
I need to finally finish Xenogears, it is such a great game and the soundtrack is so amazing, it never fails to hit me in the feels (even before i knew the game). You did a wonderful job with this one, as always!

Xenogears is amazing!! You really need to play it someday! Clearly the music is, but everything else is too. Nowhere has a story of such epic scope been attempted, but also with characters and deep emotions to anchor and make it all meaningful. It's a high point in fiction, made possible only by the combined genius of Tetsuya Takahashi and his wife Soraya Saga... Really illustrating the concept of one-winged angels. And everyone else who worked on it as well! (Especially Yasunori Mitsuda!)
@@KaraComparetto Can't go wrong with Chrono Trigger! It's another favorite. A lot of the same people were involved, and it's probably shorter and more light-hearted, even with all the endings. Don't get to watch Twitch live much, but maybe can find a VOD later or something. Enjoy it!

Congrats on another successful stream, and thanks for the fantastic performance. I played XG about 12 years ago and loved it (it needs a remake! So much seemed cut for time . . . .). Now we can look forward to hearing more in the future, but don't rush. If you decide to sing, some people will criticize you for imperfection or because they want to sound like experts, but that's just like performing anything, right? Most of us don't expect you to sing at the level you play, but musicians often have trouble singing; they're too aware of how 'off' they sound. Just sing for fun on a stream or something if you'd like. I'd love to hear it--no expectations. You can sing softly if piano is your forte.

Never played Xenogears (it's on my to-do list, don't be hatin') but this song is freaking awesome! I actually bought the game on PSN when it was on sale and have just never had time to play, might have to pull out the good old PlayStation Vita and make this a priority!
It's a fantastic game, super long and extremely dense but well worth the time and effort. The final quarter of the game gets a fair bit of hate for a dip in production quality and a bit of a rushed tone, but it's still one of my absolute favorites
the title is a funny mistranslation by the composer by the way (it's written in english in the japanese soundtrack), it's probably supposed to be "Two small pieces" (2つの小さな曲), and the の was translated as 'of', which doesn't fit here. (or maybe instead of 小さな曲 small music piece 小片 small piece/fragment)
Of course, a Xenogears album is a must... It has wonderful tracks and I'm sure they will sound aaaawesome by your magical hands... just like this piece 😍❤️❤️❤️

I recently played June Mermaid on stream! :) I have the whole Xenogears book. I am considering a full Xenogears album in the future, with many of my own arrangements :)
I forget them instantly. HAHA. not really true but I read them and move on. I could probably play parts of this one memorized because I have heard it many times but in general I'm ready to move to the next one after playing!
