I wonder if this is just another crossover from Dreadball, and these are the official Cyborgs from Mantic for Deadzone? The Mazon Labs are full of crossovers already, so this could be another one. Time will tell. The weapons they got do match with the Dreadball figures.
I think this is a crossover with Dreadball, but not a true crossover.I think they had the idea, and the easy way was to write the rules for the existing models, which happen to be the Cyborg team. We both agree that we don’t like the look of the team. The only way to change that is to do it myself. That’s what I’m working on. Andrew and Can’t wait to run this faction. @@familyofgamers777 I'd love to see what you've been printing for the cyborgs. I just bought the Dreadball ones after unsuccessfully trying to find better undead cyborgs in Etsy, but I'm still not thrilled with the models.
So for 0 vp models i am a bit torn. I like the idea but i hate the thought of someone stacking them just to sandbag so you cant score VPs. If this is an issue one way to stop it is to list a VP requirement for competitive play. So we would be playing 200 points with a minimum of 12vp value in units. As far as base sizing goes it should just be you can use whatever basing you want. I dont care much about bases. Like i usually dont even base things like the nameless goliath or the inferno drill. Bases are just to keep models upright. The best thing about this team is the Abberation getting invigorated. Great review.
My Aberration and Goliath don’t have bases either. 0 VP units are a pain, but I think I will use them because it seems like that is a viable and necessary tactics in 3.0.
The splat identifies the full name so I would say no. If they wanted to include all of them they would have said something like Urbana Black Wing unit.
There are some sets on the website that had a good amount of stuff. I use the Star Saga, with the sets and the Dreadball team. I use the Caratids and the Feromites from the DB team, I like this sculpts better. Thanks Sawblade.
Just noticed I was taking about the Nameless. But the stamens can be the same for both. The mason labs are really the faction from Star Saga. You are correct, most of the models are from SS. I guess they should come out with a dedicated Mazon starter and booster.

My 2 favorite factions are smack dab in the middle of the book - Mazon and Marauders.
And Spiders with stealth!

do the urbana rangers count as marines for the simmonds splat, I wonder?

I would agree, since Lab Techs, Security Guards and Black Wing Marines are all troops. The splat seems geared towards the troops.
