Hey friends! I love how many of you asked for a tour of my van! I'd love to make more van content: things I'd do differently, budget breakdown, planned upgrades, etc. What do you think? Do you want to see more of Vincent Van Go? Comment below! - Miranda

Definitely add more! I always wanted to do a Van setup but always scared off by these super expensive and complicated builds online. This sort of build is something I could actually see myself doing. Nice job!

This sort of hand made on a very tight budget van is infinitely more charming than some picture perfect instagram thing. Give me Vincent any day

absolutely. I've been following lots of Van Lifers - and there's so much Van Envy, and one guy, is accumulating so much merch and crap...he's a bit of a contradiction. I guess that if you start off as a hiker, you retain the "only if I can carry it" ethos.

Love the fact that it's not an Instagram / #Vanlife situation. Those things cost a shitload of money and are not really attainable for the average person. Vincent Van Go is not a vanity project, but practical. He IS attainable, AND gets the job done!

Really enjoyed seeing Vince! Everything is so well thought-out, nothing extra you don't need, and your DIY projects are great. I'm interested in knowing if you're set up for cold weather (portable heater), if you've taken long trips or just use it as a sub for tenting, what type of auto repair kit you carry, and where/how you store all your hiking gear like backpacks and such. Ever considered adding a roof rack and/or hard box on top for a kayak, skis, fuel cans, etc? I've always used a tent and am not quite ready for a travel trailer, but luckily am short enough to sleep in the back of my FJ Cruiser if I need to! lol Anyhoo, always excited to see another Miranda vid posted and would love to see more about your van! PS Just realized I could seriously stealth in my mom's Dodge Caravan with just a few mods. It looks like crap but has a great engine and tires, an no one would take a second look at just another tan van. :-)

Budget vans are far more realistic to most people. It's about stripping life back to the necessities in my eyes, not putting every mod con onto 4 wheels.
My most budget van was an old Vauxhall Combo that I paid £60 for. The bed and side table was built from the scrap wood that was in the back of the van when I bought it. I bought refletix foil to line the inside and was then given some laminate underlay foam about 10mm thick which I finished off the insulating with. I lived in it throughout a winter with lows easily touching -12°c.
That van lasted me 5500 miles before it gave up. It allowed me to live in the English lake district, one of the most beautiful places I have ever lived during my years of dirtbagging

@@rei Can't wait to hopefully see more van updates!
You could always get another scratch off map for the Vincent.
For my Subaru, roof box and cooler I've been getting a bumper sticker and sticking it on the roof box and cooler every time we go somewhere new. The car and roof box have been to 8 states my cooler 9 because my brother borrowed it and took it to a new state.

I watched this, then larked off for a look at the build blog posts over on REI dot com. Totally looks like something I can do! Now, if only vanlife hadn't driven up the cost of vans.

Totally love it! Well done with nice backround.Maybe one inspirational thing: did you ever tested it, when the light is behind the top fabric? In my view this could be really comfi. Great wishes 😊
