Just wanna thank Michael for keep updating his Intro to ZBrush series over the years. It's like a Zbrush wikipedia, hands down best Zbrush tutorials ever.
These videos are a godsend. Thank you so much. I'm usually not bad with softwares but with Zbrush I had trouble grasping the very BASICS. Now I feel like I can explore and understand Zbrush alone.
Right? In one of the earlier videos he suggested something wasn't going to be covered in an "intro" series of videos and I was disappointed that I wasn't going to get to hear about every function, even knowing I probably won't use them all as it is, haha.
Ive been told Tessimating my Model and sculpting on top of it is better than using Dynamesh or Sub Dividing it, but when i use Sculptris pro too much the mesh starts to get really heavy and lag when moving or sculpting on top of. is that true in the first place, and if so, should i just Decimate it when it gets too heavy?
Can't speak for what's better or not, depends on the situation I suppose, but yeah decimating is a good option, and remember you have the history recall brush you can use with sculptris pro too th-cam.com/video/2bDYwpcmLKo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/-qD2qmgFJ78/w-d-xo.html
Hey Mike, I'm hitting problems when I use the inflate brush it gets crazy condensed and then cause's Zbrush to crash. Do you know why? I'm looking at your free memory on the video and it's about 40GB more then mine, not sure is this is the reason, not very tech minded, but I have like 4TB in total on my p.c...
Free Mem is how much RAM (Random Access Memory) you have left. (yes, Mike does have 64 gigs of RAM) I personally have 16 Gb, just started learning Zbrush, coming from Blender.
I tried to draw a shoulder using the method you practiced, but I tried dynamesh and ctrl click drag and division, but I only got this... suggestions? Image can be found at imgur with the usual dotcom followed by forward slash "a", forward slash 6EyqlYY. I just got a bunch of crazy polygons, can you help?
the only thing I can think of is you might be bumping up against polygon limits? You can either decimate and try again, or (my preference) if you're blocking out a base mesh, keep it low and useable, then zremesh / project, and finish out the model th-cam.com/video/2bDYwpcmLKo/w-d-xo.html
sculptris pro has also been updated to allow visibility and sculptris functionality, but I'd still keep my base mesh low rather than try any perf workarounds th-cam.com/video/HPec30MdG7Q/w-d-xo.html

10:13 It seems to go in the normal direction of the surface rather than towards the camera. Is this right?
